Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted October 31, 2002 The Lakers are most definitely not going to sweat losing to two teams that they demolished last year in the regular season (Sonics) and the playoffs (Spurs).
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 31, 2002 blah Lakers will still be in the playoffs and no one can stop both Shaq and Kobe and they'll win their fourth title..blah blah blah.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 31, 2002 GO BULLS!!!! Sorry, I'm sticking with my boys, unlike all the fans who scattered like mice when the team was broken up in 1998. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Oh my god, Kotz, you are my HERO. GO BULLS!
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Any time the Blazers beat the Lakers is a good day for me. Of course Portland will roll over and die for the Lakers come playoff time like usual, but for now it's all good.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 31, 2002 I have a good feeling 03 will be the "Season without Shaq"...I have a strong feeling he won't play more then 15 games this season...Which elevates Kobe to superstardom 10x more...and loses to Sacramento in round two... What's with the Washington Love ESPN is giving them? They feel Stackhouse makes so much impact they win the World Title? Ha! Maybe a 6 seed at most...Magic Baby. Kings/Magic. Guest Leena Report post Posted October 31, 2002 It is funny how some of the ESPN clowns are picking the Wizards for the finals. Never mind they have only young players in the middle that will be pounded by the glass all year... and a PG that hasn't shown much. The Lakers will be fine when Shaq gets back, and they'll win their title. I'd love to my Clips beat them though.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted October 31, 2002 *prays to God, Buddha, and Allah for the big toe to heal* As for the Wizards, well on paper they seem good, but damn they sucked last night.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 31, 2002 at Least the Spurs beat them on opening night
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted October 31, 2002 Basketball? *yawns* My sentiments exactly. Score some damn points and maybe people will be more interested. The Lakers are at best a mediocre team without Shaq. It seems like when Shaq is out, Kobe Bryant has to everything and the rest of the team gives a half-assed effort and doesn't really contribute. Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted November 1, 2002 Spurs might as well get all the wins in now, because when they're up by 10 going into the 4th Quarter of the postseason, they shrivel up quite nicely. East is always wide-open, but I'll be damned if I don't love watching the Nets play. That's a team, ladies and gentlemen. They move the ball, they execute fast breaks and they have balanced scoring. Would a Mavs/Nets final not rock all?
Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted November 1, 2002 It was great to see them get the upset win last night over Boston. Upset? None of there wins are "upset" wins to me, damnit!
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted November 1, 2002 It was great to see them get the upset win last night over Boston. I am not sure how much of an upset it could be considered since the Celtics were beaten by like 45 points last night against the Wizards. It looks like it is going to be a rough start for the Celtics.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted November 2, 2002 I caught some of the Wizards game last night, and the team looked damn good. Kwame Brown was contesting every shot and looked really good last night and the team has Stackhouse and Jordan to score points for them. I think having Ewing as an assistant coach will be great for developing Kwame Brown's skills.

Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted November 2, 2002 Celtics have been REALLY shitty so far. I remember them doing horrible in the preseason too. I'm very surprised at the all of a sudden turn around in Boston.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted November 2, 2002 You guys seriously think the Celtics have a chance? They traded Kenny Anderson for VIN BAKER!!! Who owns that team, Cheech and Chong? As for the Lakers, this is standard Phil procedure. Big star misses about half the regular season, they get like a 4 seed in the playoffs, and proceed to hand out horrific stompings left and right. And a Mavs-Nets finals would be like the most entertaining basketball game of all time.

Ah us Boston sports fans are naive, we suck but we'll never admit with the exception of this year's Patriots*shudders*
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted November 2, 2002 lol, as faras our GM goes...we don't have the best track record in the 90's as shown when we traded Ron Mercer and Chauncey Billups(Our 2 draft picks) for some guys I can't even remember. Imagine having Mercer, Pierce and Walker on the team as the starting lineup.

Imagine having Mercer, Pierce and Walker on the team as the starting lineup. Ah, the Rick Pitino Era, the fastest burial of a great franchise in sports history. Remember when he told us "Larry Bird isn't walking through that door, fans. Neither is Cousy or Russell and if they do, they will be old and gray. And all the negativity in this town sucks" while the Celtics played to nearly empty houses in a (fairly) new arena? Good times.
