Your Paragon of Virtue Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 While I agree with you, I wouldn't call the latter *completely* worthless. It had its moments...
Guest Vyce Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 I feel some Edge hate building. Mainly because I can't remember Eddie G / Angle / Benoit beating him. Or if they did, without cheating to do so. There is NO REASON to protect him so much, especially since a) he's nowhere near being in the main event i.e. facing Brock for the title (Rebellion was an aberration), and b) if he was in the main event against Brock, he'd get massacred like all the others. Plus I'm getting a bit tired of hearing Edge's name thrown out in reference to all these great matches. I look at all the fantastic matches that have been on Smackdown in the last couple months, and which names do I see in all of them? Angle Benoit Guerrero I think Anglesault would agree that if Smackdown is a great show, it's because of those three right there.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 Yeah, Angle/Benoit/Eddy have a combined 35 losses to Edge or something like that.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 Oh, by the way, Final tally for Edge's losses to the three guys: 2. One to Angle(Backlash) One to Eddy(Unforgiven)

Both Eddy and Angle have beaten him clean in the last two months(Unforgiven and No Mercy). Also, why shouldn't Edge get some credit for the great matches he's been in? It's not like he's fucking Mark Henry or Rikishi. That's like saying Rey Mysterio shouldn't get any credit for the matches with Angle being good. And besides, whenever peopel talk about how great Smackdown is, they always say Eddy, Benoit, and Angle before anybody else, so what's with all this whiny ass bitching anyway? Like the old saying goes, it takes two to tango(or four in the case of tag team matches). If you think you can just throw anybody out there with those three and get 3 star matches nightly, you're out of your fucking mind.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 Eddy beat Edge on the Smackdown after SummerSlam in the #1 Contender's tourney. Boy, you people sure find some petty shit to cry about.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 Ummmm... Both Eddy and Angle have beaten him clean in the last two months(Unforgiven and No Mercy). Eddy used a turnbuckle bolt in that match, but it's not that much of a biggie. You also have to remember, for everytime someone beats Edge, they end up losing to him two or three time afterwards. Also, why shouldn't Edge get some credit for the great matches he's been in? Because his matches with other people tend to be on the "not" side of "very good" (Regal, Test, Christian, Booker) Of course, those were all a while ago, and he has improved since then.

He only beat Eddy once after jobbing to him and that was their blowoff match on Smackdown. On the other part, it's kinda easy to not have a good match A) You have a severe clash of styles(Regal), B) Your opponent is no talent, overrated, chinlock-loving dumbshit(Christian), and C) Don't get more than 5 minutes at WM for a match that had no heat because of a stupid feud(Booker).
Guest Anglesault Posted November 3, 2002 Report Posted November 3, 2002 He only beat Eddy once after jobbing to him and that was their blowoff match on Smackdown. And every tag match between that match and the PPV, and the numer one contender's tag match. Still, only tag matches, so they can be excluded. It was a rather one sided feud though.

The win / loss between Edge and his opponents in any feud he's a part of is NOT fairly distributed.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted November 4, 2002 Report Posted November 4, 2002 AS when is the last time Regal or Test have had a good match PERIOD. It's not Edge's fault those matches sucked.

Edge won at SummerSlam, lost the next Smackdown after and at Unforgiven, then won the blowoff on the next Smackdown after Unforgiven. 2-2 Sounds fairly distributed to me.
Guest LJSexay Posted November 4, 2002 Report Posted November 4, 2002 I miss seeing you at WDI, APO . Not that I even post there anymore but.. yeah. ANYWAY, youre correct, and I believe the feud with Eddy made Eddy look as good as Edge, and as far as the Angle feud, I do believe Angle is the one getting the slightly higher push...
