How the hell...

You're better off bringing up guys like Mysterio and Guerrera who went to ECW, made a name for themselves, and were taken by WCW when they got the division started.

I don't think you can even credit ECW for that. Konnan brought the luchadores into WCW to fill out the new cruiserweight division. It wasn't really an issue of WCW seeing Mysterio and Juvi in ECW, being really impressed with them, and signing them. It was more of Konnan bringing in a bunch of luchadores that included Juvi and Mysterio to help the cruiserweight division. Juvi was treated as just "one of the luchadores" from nearly two years in WCW before getting any real push. So I'm not sure you can credit ECW for helping him "make it" in the states.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jerry Lynn or Tajiri as guys ECW made.

Jerry Lynn never would have gotten any shot in the WWF (even though it was a terrible run) without ECW, and wouldn't have had the name recognition to be a marquee player in NWA-TNA.

Tajiri would either still be killing himself in Big Japan or jobbing in NJ or AJ without ECW.

Brian, were you at Lost Batallion Hall when Ricky Morton introduced the tamikaze? And heard the pop over just that great move? If not, then STFU about Lost Batallion.

They were trained to cheer spots, but when it came to good wrestling there was nothing.

That's interesting. I was under the impression that people cheered when they were entertained. Maybe I'm the only one who applies that logic at live events.

Then say that ECW marks cheered when they were entertained and not for "good wrestling".

This is the same company that pushed the hell out of mediocrity such as Justin Credible and made it seem like he was worth a damn - hell, it continues to this very day. This nullifies some of the "ECW always appreciated it's good wrestling". New Jack nullifies a lot of the remainder.

ECW had its own niche, but for anyone to say that it was ever on the level of the WWF or WCW is as ridiculous as saying the XFL made the NFL its bitch.

Oh, ECW was never as good as WWF/E or WCW as far as in-ring product. I'm talking about entertainment, character development, etc.
