Chunk 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2002 I heard recently, that at the ECW training academy, pupils had to finish the day with a shoot fight against TAZZ. On what basis would these fights have taken place? Surely it couldnt have beena full on shoot, because the trainees surely wouldn't have been able to come into train the next day. Has anyone got any experience with this, or does anyone know how it would have worked. Ive heard the ECW academy was hard, (only 4 guys graduated out of the 1000's that entered) but surely not so hard that you had to shoot fight everyday against a pro like Tazz? Guest Army Eye Report post Posted November 6, 2002 What are the rules for shoot wrestling ,ie, UFC, PRIDE etc? Are all matches shoot or are some booked like pro wrestling. All matches are 100% shoot currently. There have been a FEW UFC matches that were works in its history, but they were not worked by the promoters. These were fights when teammates got matched up and one guy would allow the other to advance in the tourney, but they would try and make it look good. This doesn't happen any more since UFC has long since abandoned tournaments. In Pride, there have been a few matches in early Pride shows that are highly suspected to be works. Most notably the ludicrous Takada vs. Coleman match, and Ogawa defeating Goodridge. Not surprisingly these works involved Japanese pro wrestlers. Again, this has not happened in years.
