About three months ago or something like that, I bought $75 worth of XPW tapes from Josh Rumbin (lives in Lanoka Harbor, NJ). Josh's screenname is Elimination32. His E-Mail is [email protected]. His username on the XPWTV board is NewJack187, and on the CZWFans.com he's H8ClubMark. Josh sent me my tapes when I bought from him, but me someone else (his screenname is JOHNPUNK2001) have been corresponding via Instant Message for a few months now, and within the last month, he's been complaining that Rumbin isn't sending his tapes. Today, JOHNPUNK IM'ed me and told me that Josh had said that he wasn't sending the tapes. JOHNPUNK had already sent the money via a money order, and Josh is now keeping the money and not sending the tapes. I IM'ed Josh to try to see why he wasn't sending the tapes, and he told me that he was too busy. I closed out the IM at one point, but once he sent another message, I decided to keep it up so that I could post people warning them of him. Here's what I kept:

 

HHH4LifeDX69: Hey, why aren't you sending JOHNPUNK2001's tapes?

Elimination632: to busy

HHH4LifeDX69: U gonna send his money back?

Elimination632: i probably will eventually, but i am busy

HHH4LifeDX69: Well i guess I'm not buying from you. I can't buy from somehone who's ripped people off.

Elimination632: LOL you already did

Elimination632: ive been ripping off tape traders since 1998 this ain't the first time i fucked somebody out of their tapes

Elimination632: you got lucky that i sent u ur tapes

 

I thought the people on this board should know of Josh's antics. I had no problems with him when I bought that once, but I've decided that he's not a reputable buyer and decided that I should make that known.

Why do it? You pay your money, you should get your tapes.

That's very annoying. But, if you want tapes, you've got to buy from one.

 

I suppose you've got to find the right trader. If you live in the U.K. I recommend Niall. His service is great, the tapes arrive quick, he's a nice guy and he can cut you a deal. He only deals in Puro and Lucha.

 

If you want U.S. stuff and fancy covers, I suggest SST. His service isn't too great from my previous experiences but he's still a very good place to buy from and he has a shitload of tapes.

thats the only reason i would buy stuff from him,

 

ive heard his quality is down on what he says, and it takes weeks for tapes to get to you.

 

But when you live in the uk, i guess its easier to go to him than it is to buy from the states.

 

is it me, or does he tend to overcharge aswell? £8 seems a bit much. Especially for ECW. You i can go and buy a real copy (master) for about £12 and he charges £8 for a copy.

 

Maybe its just me being cheap.

Well, maybe they're a bit overpriced but his covers and tapes are probably better than SilverVison, with their EMTEC's and poorly photocopied covers from the originals.

 

Also, in HMV, ECW tapes are like, £16 and their DVD's are £14.99, maybe you get them from a different place.

If you buy them over the net they are much cheaper. And I also get student discount at High Street shops, sorry I forgot about that

 

I have found that HMV are quite expensive as a whole though. When i ordered Wrestlemania 10 in, they charged me £17 for it. I foolishly didnt ask how much it was when i asked them to order it in (expecting it to be roughly the same as the other manias on the shelf). I couldnt believe it when they charged me £17.

 

Ive seen some of SST's covers and they look very good. I would rather pay £2 less and have no cover though.

memo to new traders. if you have never dealt with a guy before, DO NOT spend a shitload of money until you have developed a repoire with them!!!! try and keep it below $20 until you know that guy is going to come through, time and again.

Look for references or something too. Basically every good trade or sale I've done I've kept a log of and it's something I'd recommend too.

good advice. you would have thought that stuff like that would be common sense, but it always supprises me at how easily people are willing to give up their money.
