How Many People Actually Read the Site?

I'm just curious, because "Site Feedback" doesn't get any traffic and the archives get almost no views (which is also why I'm posting this here).

I check it out every now and then...mainly for the Shoot reviews and for JHawk's and DrTom's Raw and Smackdown reports, which I prefer to SK's. And the TE review...can't forget that TE review. :)

I buzz through it every now and then. Mostly, as Papacita said, for DrTom and JHawk's stuff, and Dames Diatribe installments.

I read DVD reviews, Shoot interviews and Jhawks RAW reviews. But BPS won me over at Smarktalk with a winning formular of quoting posts from the O&O Raw thread in his reviews.

Hey, I like this place, I think it's great. And everyone has to agree with me, because it's my birthday.

I only read the indy reviews that Dames' does. All the writers are good, it's just that I have no interest in WWE.

I read most of the pop-culture stuff. I don't read the wrestling stuff so much anymore, because I don't watch wrestling much anymore, and I don't enjoy reading about it if I haven't seen the programs.

I read the shoot interviews, confi recap, Dames Diatribe and the reviews of RAW-n-SD.

I usually read the Raw and Smackdown reviews, the news columns, the TE review and the Crossface.

I'm with Bob. Just add the Dames NWA:TNA reviews to that.

I am guessing Dames would know this but how many hits do you guys get a day, week, month etc;?

I try to read most of the stuff on the site, but usually i forget about it and only read stuff there occassionally.

It varies, but we're normally between 310,000 and 350,000 hits per day.

I prefer the content of SmarkTalk.com more, but that's just me.

And, that was NOT a cheap plug in all honestly.

Dude, are you serious? Damn.

Wish I'd known that before I wrote my TE recap, it would have been better.

I read DVD reviews

I've read a few dvd reviews

I read most of the pop-culture stuff

I always check out the DVD reviews

I try to read most of the stuff [no doubt this includes DVD reviews - Ed] on the site

Given these quotes, I believe it's obvious that Polk and I (and even Jay while we're at it... 300,000+ hits a day? You can afford that) deserve raises. We're all students, Polk's family is increasing, and nobody ever bought me anything from my wishlist!

Wait, does this mean that every time someone comes to the Forum, it counts as a hit for the site? Aw shit.

I'll still make the TE recaps better though.

...We have a website?

YOU don't have a site. Dames has a site.

Thats not exactly true, because the way the new forums work is all off 1 file, index.php If you come to the forums one time and browse for 1 hour or keep your "session/Activity" then its only 1 hit. However if you goto the site, close your browser, and go back in thats 2 hits.

That would require a ridiculous amount of forum activity. As Mike said, each visit is one hit. So if all ~2600 members visited ten separate times per day, that would be about 260,000 hits, which still leaves 50,000-90,000 for the site itself. I know our forum activity isn't that high. It's common for most articles to have monthly views well into the thousands.

How do we find this stuff out?

Oh, and those who don't read the site much, I seriously recommend it. I'd put the content of our site up against any on the internet, and our reviewers are just as good, if not better, than the old standbys we "grew up with," so to speak.

True, you'll get more news and such by going to 411 or something, but will you get the real meat-and-potatoes content? I think not.
