Guest Brian Report post Posted November 7, 2002 Edge hasn't gotten THE PUSH~! yet, so it doesn't really. I wouldn't be surprised, this is the same guy who is worried more about how big he is and how he compares with bodybuilders.
Guest DerangedHermit Report post Posted November 7, 2002 This is pathetic if true. The locker room seems like a bunch of little whiny brat kids. "WAAAAAAH!!!! Jericho's got long blond hair, future daddy (in-law)!" "Mr. Ross, Bradshaw's raping me in the shower and has my colored markers!" "HHH made me get a haircut!" "I didn't rape Jeff! It was Chris Nowinski, I swear!" "WAHHHHH! I'M NOT FEELING IT!!!!!!!!" "WAHHHHHHHHH! I WANT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMME!"
Guest Special K Report post Posted November 7, 2002 Both Meltzer and Alvarez said that HHH held down Jericho from the get-go due to his similar look (among many other things) about A BILLION TIMES on WOL back in the eYada days. Whether it's true or not, he said it many, many , many times on his radio show.

How about the fact that Y2J was getting more heel heat with one promo, then HHH was while he knocking down old ladies and getting the entire roster to job for him in a 6-Way Match. Guest mach7 Report post Posted November 7, 2002 I've had HHH's best friends in the business flat out tell me he was out to screw Jericho from day one (some of the same people who would publicly say the opposite) because he didn't want anyone else with long blond hair getting over. Now we all know Meltzer is one of the few writers you can pretty much trust. This is quite a good piece of evidence in favor of the HHHaters. Meltzer talks to a lot of wrestlers cause he's so well known and respected in the business. So I don't doubt he's talked to friends of HHH. I think the whole point you're missing is.. who in the hell gives a damn anymore? Seriously. Wrestling political. Big deal. Get over it. Time to move on. I mean we've been watching these guys a long time and we all have an intrest in seeing how the product turns out. Oh and ask WCW how about how "political" wrestling is. Oh, you can't, cause they're out of business. Backstage Politics are very inmportant. Plaus they're interesting. If you don't like talking about them then don't post in this thread, slappy. No, backstage politics are absolutely the most important thing in wrestling. The last few years of what used to be the WWF have proven, without doubt, that no matter how great the wrestlers are, if people with power backstage, for whatever reason, aren't going to let them suceed, well, they aren't, and neither will the promotion. Guest teke184 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 This "blonde hair" stuff is actually a little more significant than you think... Back in the old territories, promoters like Eddie Graham wouldn't bring in tall guys with long blonde hair if they had someone like Barry Windham that they were grooming for a top spot. And, as someone said before, Jericho showed up in 1999 while HHH was on the verge of a MAJOR push. Jericho basically walked in an got a bigger reaction in the first 10 seconds of his WWF career than Hunter had gotten at that time (aside from possibly the Summerslam 98 ladder match, and it took a LOT of effort to get to that point). Considering that HHH was always regarded as a bland wrestler with little more than a good look, it makes a lot of sense that he'd have it in for a good wrestler who could talk and had a similar look and who was MUCH more over than him. Guest alfdogg Report post Posted November 8, 2002 [HHH mark]FOOLS!!! There is no proof of HHH having power! You're not backstage! *Report of Austin using stroke comes out from the same source* FUCK AUSTIN!! I hope he rots in hell for holding those young guys down![/HHH mark] All joking aside, this was posted in its entirety by Loss4Words at Underground Smarks, and it was a very interesting read, even if the part about the hair was a bit exaggeratory. Unfortunately, it won't shut the "HHH has no power" people up.

Guest Celtic Jobber Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Dave Meltzer definitely said this, I emailed him and here's what I sent and his reply. My email to Dave: "Did you really report this or is yet another fake story being attributed to you on the message boards? 'I've had HHH's best friends in the business flat out tell me he was out to screw Jericho from day one (some of the same people who would publicly say the opposite) because he didn't want anyone else with long blond hair getting over.' " Here's Meltzer's reply: "Actually that is true. Dave"
