The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Actually Tony did it himself and it wasn't pre-meditated. Tony found out about the stable being burned and went to Ralph's house to tell him about it. Ralph, at this point, could care less because his son was dying in the hospital. Tony then accused him of killing the horse to get insurance money, which infuriated Ralph. "My kid is in the fuckin' hospital. And SO WHAT! It was a fuckin HORSE! An Animal!" Tony then decks him and they begin brawling in Ralph's kitchen. Ralph tries to defend himself as best as he could, but Tony strangles him to death. He then calls Christopher to help him get rid of the body. Dames
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 23, 2002 They are ruining Furio and Carmella with this boring romance.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I'd like to state, for the record, that I hate Carmella Soprano.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I like her, but what in the name of all that is good in holy did she do to her hair?
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted November 23, 2002 What was Carmella at the hotel for? I thought her and Furio were going to hook up there until we saw both him and Tony eating alone that night.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 23, 2002 Her hair is fucked up, and did you notice that she's putting on the pounds now? I hate Carmella. She is definately one of my least favorite characters on the show. Given that, I still want to see where the Carm/Furio angle goes. Granted, I feel they threw it in just to give Furio a concrete motive against Tony (seeing as how that looks to be the theme of this season) I'm still curious to see where they go with it. The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2002 What was Carmella at the hotel for? I thought her and Furio were going to hook up there until we saw both him and Tony eating alone that night. Sometimes, Chase ends the shows on such a weird, odd note. The sublety is lost on me some of the time. For example, the episode a few weeks ago when Tony and Carmella were in the bathroom while she's in the bathtub and it just goes black. WTF was that all about? Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 23, 2002 One episode just ended with Tony and Sil in the car.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 23, 2002 "What was Carmella at the hotel for? I thought her and Furio were going to hook up there until we saw both him and Tony eating alone that night." they camera never showed the other side of his dinner table so we dont know if he was alone..the idea is she may have been there cause its not like shes going to leave a note that says "hey im going over Furios so he can knock the bottom out of my ass with some Ialian Sausage"
The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2002 He was sitting alone at the table or else he would have been looking at the person sitting across from him the whole time and reacting. The fact that he poured only one glass of wine should have given it away. Dames
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 23, 2002 its not like shes going to leave a note that says "hey im going over Furios so he can knock the bottom out of my ass with some Ialian Sausage" LOL! That was just funny. Anyway, yeah... I agree with just about everyone else. Furio was eating alone. Maybe he and Carm had made some kind of plans and Furio backed out at the last second? Nah... cause if you think about it. Why would Carm tell Tony where she was going if she had the intention of fucking Furio at that location? I guess what I'm trying to say is... I have no clue why the hell she left that note
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I think she probably just did go to a hotel, just to distance more from Tony. Like Dames said, Chase certainly doesn't write stories in a predictable or traditional fashion, almost more realistic than anything. BTW, speaking of endings to shows, best ending I can remember was the episode where Melfi was raped, and Tony asks her if she needs to tell him something (who did it, what really happened, etc) and you have this long pause, and the blurts out no.....fade to black. I just went nuts for that.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 23, 2002 Didn't you REALLY want Melfi to tell Tony... so we could see what Tony would have done to that guy?
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 23, 2002 Didn't you REALLY want Melfi to tell Tony... so we could see what Tony would have done to that guy? Exactly, thats why I went so apeshit when she said no.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 23, 2002 I did the same thing... and then later on... when she was at her therapist... and Melfi said something to the effect of "knowing what I could have done to him"... I marked out
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 24, 2002 In attempt to keep this thread active...... There was some saying they thought Carmela was their least favorite character.........how about everyone else? I gotta go with either Janice or Charmaine Bucco. Both just annoy the shit out of me, but in different ways. Janice is your typical "fakey" type of person who just uses people left and right and/or just generally isn't all "there" in the head, and everyone pretty much knows it. I am curious to see where this thing with her and Bacala goes though....maybe she's changing over a new leaf. Doubt it though. As for Charmaine, I'm sure she could be described as a logic-smart woman, but she defines "bitch" and "major shrew" to me. Too stubborn for her own good. I think she's always so negative on Tony and everything isn't why you think either, I think she's pissed and bitter that Tony didn't "pick her" at the end instead of Carmela. Remember that her and Tony apparently had a little fling way back when apparently.
Guest HorsemenGlory Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I just hope Johnny Sac gets clipped....he's really aggrevating the hell out of me....
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 24, 2002 Charmaine is a total shrew. Can't stand her.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 24, 2002 I also hate Charmaine. All she does is BITCH! I hate that (that's one of the main reasons I can't stand Carm. She bitches alot too). Janice... I have mixed feelings. Can't explain. Johnny Sac... That whole episode with his wife... it really showed that he actually loves his wife, and that the comment Ralphie made really did offend him. I don't know, but to me that makes me like him a little bit. He's still a scumbag, but let's face it... everyone's a scumbag on this show
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 24, 2002 Sac doesn't bother me too much, he comes across as a person that actually gives a shit about his wife compared to pretty much every other guy in the show. I definately agree that there is not an innocent character on the show at all, and thats purposely done. Like I said Chase isn't writing traditional television, and thats what makes this show stand out above the rest. I don't even really watch any episodic TV shows except this one, they're usually too predictable and thoughtless.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 What did you guys think of tonight's episode? Janice... what a bitch!
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 25, 2002 First, I didn't think the episode was anywhere near what it should have been considering its the third to last show of the season. This just seemed like a lot of meaningless filler material for the most part. Probably the weakest shows of the season. Janice is a fuckin snakey ass biatch, thats for sure. Definately redefines her characters usual and typical points, after initially thinking she might actually be a decent person. Knowing how things go too, she will never get caught by Bobby for what she's doing, but we'll see. AJ really turned out to be an asshole in this episode too. BTW, when the hell is Meadow gonna be back? Damn...... Trying to make sense of those dreams........I'm sure something will show up more clear by seasons end. They did this same thing with Pussy and the fish, etc too way back when.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Carmela as well as mafia wives as a whole crack me up. They know perfectly well what they are marrying into, yet go with it anyway because they think it is "thrilling" and what not, then all they do is bitch and whine when the mafia live is lived out. Another tendency I don't like is how certain characters will just be ignored for weeks on end even when we were left with a huge story on them. I guess there is so much to fit in though. The biggest question of all is how this series will finally end. Tony gets whacked, Tony goes to Jail, or Tony turns Rat.
Guest EQ Report post Posted November 25, 2002 The biggest question of all is how this series will finally end. Tony gets whacked, Tony goes to Jail, or Tony turns Rat. Imagine if Tony does end up turning rat. It will be the type of irony that Chase loves to use. Tony turning into one of the things he hates most (remember when he was bitching in Melfi's office about that?) Meadow... maybe they're leaving her out of this season to kind of drive home the point of her being away at school and doing her own thing (kind of like the baby ducks leaving the pool back in season 1). Then again, maybe they just didn't think up anything good for her character. I don't know about you guys, but I really felt bad for Bobby and his kids last night. Especially with Janice turning out to be such a fucking snake. I hope Bobby finds out what she's up to. Unfortunately, it looks like Uncle Junior is fucked as far as that trial goes. I hope they're successful in getting to a juror. I like Uncle June, I don't wanna see him go to jail. Looks like Paulie maybe be fucked this season. I actually heard that the actor who plays him (I forget his name right now) is sick, so I wouldn't be surprised if we see him go. It would be too bad too, cause right now, Paulie is my favorite character on the show.
Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted November 26, 2002 How about this crack pot prediction. Tony clips Sac. NY doesn't go after Tony, but guns down Meadow. In other words, "stay out of New York" Kicking off one hell of a turf war that leads to the series finale Steve

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 27, 2002 What the hell was THAT episode? I was waiting for Chase to pop up on the screen. "Okay, you sat through 45 minutes of that drek, now here's the real show."
Guest RedJed Report post Posted December 2, 2002 Sooooo.......comments on the second-to-last show tonight? Definately ALOT better than the past few weeks, and one of the better ones of the year along with the Ralphie episode. Different turns that I didn't expect, nor can figure where they will lead. I don't know if they wrote Furio off the show now or what. It could be likely, since this show is notorious for doing the most unlikely but realistic situations in that he just ran away from the conflict before it got out of control. Then again there may be further things happening, probably not until next season though, maybe she will go to try to find him overseas. Carmela had alot of airtime tonight with all of this, and it seems that next week it will lead to her and Tony coming to an understanding with each other.........finally. Seems like Meadow pretty much knows what the whole story is there too. Paulie, who the fuck knows what is going to happen there. Same with Johnny Sac. I think Paulie still has something up his sleeve though. I didn't see Sac throwing those hints to Tony about offing Carmine coming AT ALL. Possibly Paulie gets wind of whats happening, and throws the situation into chaos with him going to Carmine about what Sac and Tony were talking about?
