Guest BoboBrazil Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 --Brock Lesnar suffered a cracked rib, which I believe would have been on Saturday night in Champaign, IL, which is why they really didn't do Lesnar vs. Show main event matches (they did quick angles to get both men out and pull-aparts) at the house shows the past two nights. Haven't been told if they'll keep him out of a match tonight, but would think that's a strong possibility. As of last word, he is going to gut his way through the PPV match. wrestlingobserver.com
ChrisMWaters Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 ...oh shit. They BETTER not say "Well...let's put the belt on Show while Lesnar is injured"
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 *falls to knees* God of wrestling, I don't ask for much...and you know I don't get it... but please, please don't let Big Show win the title at SS.
Guest converge241 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 heres a scenario *fingers crossed* Benoit abandons Angle in the tag match to be in a triple threat match for the title (a la Survivor Series 99) OR Benoit abandons Angle to face show for the vacated title (a la Souled Out 00)
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 If Brock works the match hurt I think it could do a lot for him getting over with everyone, fans, the boys, everyone. They'd better have a plan C though, no belt for Show, I was there 3 years ago when he won the belt in Detroit, and he's not half as over as he was then.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 dude, the good vibe i was feeling while chatting with you mofos is disappearing as we speak. after a little coaxing from rasmussen, i finally started to appreciate the subtle nuance of brock's shitty bearhug and corner slams. if i can be serious, this is fucking horrible!!!!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 The problem with Show is that he's only ever "Damn...look at the size of that guy" over and there is not now, nor has there ever been outside of his early WCW time, any reason to root for or against this man. He offers nothing in the way of emotional investment into his character. Also...he sucks
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Somewhere, Anglesault smiles
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 hey human fly, strike that picture from my sight. i am still having nightmares from that particular period in time and that picture isn't helping!
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Putting the title on Show isn't the problem, it is just that he should in no way be the guy to first beat Brock. So basically, they should either a) Have Steph strip Brock of the belt and give it to Big Show b) Have Brock beat Big Show, but gets so injured that he has to be stripped of the title and they have a tournament for it c) Have Brock get up off his deathbed, and put up a fight only to lose to Show, while the announcers can't believe that Brock is even able to walk to the ring d) Have Brock win and hope he can recover soon B & C are the best choices as you actually have control over the situation, and you actually have the match. B is my choice. Have Brock win, and then Big Show do the same thing he did to Undertaker, then give it to Benoit as a stop-gap (you want to save Angle for Mania).
ChrisMWaters Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Somewhere, Anglesault smiles Eh, not sure. Would Anglesault want Big Show getting the title through Lesnar's injury?
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 I think that the Big Show would be alright if he just had a manager, ala Andre the Giant & The Brain.
Guest Bricks Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 *GROAN* Oh God, if Lesnar needs time off, I hope they stick someone into the Title match and have that person pin the Big Show to win the title. I mean at least that way, Brock's unpinned streak continues and you don't have "NEW WWE Champion Big Show!!!" announced at all.
Guest goodhelmet Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 but bricks, if the 3way tag is scheduled as planned, who could be a logical choice to be that third guy?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Oh will you all quit worrying. If Brock can't go they'll just hand the title to HHH after he loses his in the chamber. *gulp*
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Hey, whod've thought that Benoit would fight Angle and then be Jericho's partner at Judgment Day 2001? Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Choken One Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 let us not get carried away, we don't know the seriousness of the injury as of yet, but it is safe to say Brock won't job sunday.
Guest Bricks Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Ummm, well Benoit and Angle aren't exactly a cohesive unit so one of them could just step in because they want to?
Guest Human Fly Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 If Hulk Hogan could work a 20 minute match with Rock at Mania while he had broken ribs I have confidence that Brock will be able to pull through this and we won't have Show as Champ.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 If Hulk Hogan could work a 20 minute match with Rock at Mania while he had broken ribs I have confidence that Brock will be able to pull through this and we won't have Show as Champ. Well, the F5 finish is shot I guess.
Guest converge241 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 "Ummm, well Benoit and Angle aren't exactly a cohesive unit so one of them could just step in because they want to? " exactly..it furthers their storyline..imagine the look on Angles face when the match starts and Benoit comes on the screen to announce he took the spot in the title match and then Angle busts his ass against the others without being able to tag out becasue all titles are very important to him
Guest Paranoid Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 This injury won't bother Brock too much. He'll be able to work through it. I doubt very seriously they would give the belt to Big Slow!
Guest Last Warrior Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 "let us not get carried away, we don't know the seriousness of the injury as of yet, but it is safe to say Brock won't job sunday." I hope you are right. There are dark forces at work here methinks and as it gets closer and closer to survivor series, the more and more I can see Big Show being announced as our new champion. If this it at all serious injury then it is bad news for brock. he is really getting over at the moment and getting better and better all the time. In a way it serves the WWE right in a way though ifthey do have to hand the Big Show the title. They have not built anyone new (bar brock) and so they have had to turn to a big slow meandering lump for their main event. If this turns out o bite to bite them on the ass then it is their own fault.
Guest converge241 Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 sure Brock might still work, but thw whole selling point of the match is Lesnar giving Show the F5 theres no way he can do that move with an injury like that... from most reports he had trouble at the house shows doing it
Guest Paranoid Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 They could have the Heyman costs Lesnar the belt swerve! God I hope not! I don't really like Brock, but I dislike Show even more.
Guest Human Fly Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 sure Brock might still work, but thw whole selling point of the match is Lesnar giving Show the F5 theres no way he can do that move with an injury like that... from most reports he had trouble at the house shows doing it Maybe they'll make the match no DQ and Brock will win with a big chairshot or something. I wondered about the F5 anyway, I read a houseshow report where someone said it looked like a fireman's carry. If that happened in MSG and Brock got the win off of that, they would get booed out of the building.
Guest Choken One Posted November 12, 2002 Report Posted November 12, 2002 Logically, It's an overblown situation...that likely only requires rest. Here is the problem... If Lesnar is out for the 3 months it'll take a rib injury, he can return to WMXIX on time. No problem. What becomes of the title? Angle NEEDS his surgery after putting it off for a year. That leaves us with this scary fact... Scott Steiner joins Smackdown. He becomes the major heel pitted in a fued with...Edge. I say have a 4 Man Match at Armageddon (Steiner, Edge, Beniot and Eddy). Pretend that Angle has a 30 day no pay suspension for injruing brock (creating a angle to run with when Brock returns). The 4 way leads to a double pin with Edge and Beniot. The title stays vacant for the Rumble. All WWE are elgible to win the title. Hogan returns here and makes a dent by Elminating Steiner at the end. Kurt Angle returns as well...And wins after a good 10 minute final showdown with Edge.. Then Angle faces Edge at NWO...Brock returns and destroys Angle...sets up with Angle (Heel) and Brock (Face) at WMXIX.
