Chunk 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2002 I checked it out, and I have to say, good work. I have a few questions though: This situation also creates a number of exciting possibilities for the FWA in the future and Daniels has already made one successful defence of the belt in the States. Is this why they took the belt off Fleisch so soon after him winning it? I.e. So that the FWA can get some recognition in the states? Who did Daniels defend the title against, and when/where did he defend it? I'd heard nothing about this until now. Move of the night - The 6'5 monster that is Paul Birchall hit the move of the night when he ran in to interrupt the Jack Xavier vs. Duke Of Danger match. The FWA's Next Big Thing displayed a number of devastating manoeuvres on everyone that got in his way - the most brutal of all of these was Jack Xavier's valet, Cami. He put her up into an F5 position and then turned that into a neckbraker that absolutely destroyed the poor girl. Is that you calling it the F5, and him "The Next Big Thing", or is it what the actual FWA is using? I hope there not mimicking the WWE, theres no need for it, and surely there would be copyright laws to prohibit it. In another note from this contest, Jack Xavier has now been 'suspended' by FWA for six months after his loss. I think i asked about this before, but do you know why Jack has left? I take it that theres a legit reason for him leaving outside of the storyline, is he injured, or has he been sacked? Best crowd reaction - This came when Alex Shane and Ulf Hermann joined forces to take on the mammoth 75stone team of the UK Pitbulls and bring the tag team titles back to the FWA. "Back to the FWA? Where were they before? As for Jack, why have the Pitbulls left? Not that i'm too bothered, they were probably the worst part of Uprising. It's a bit hard to judge them on a single show though. ChUnK! I wasn't aware of Daniels having defended the title in the States either. www.frontierwrestling.com have nothing about it either. Regarding copyright laws, I doubt the names of moves are copyrighted. The DDT was named for Jake Roberts (DDT is an abbreviation for a type of snake venom) and that name was quickly used throughout the world for the move, including in ECW, USWA and Japan. Still no idea about Xavier. He did wrestle at the FutureShock event in Crawley last weekend (a lumberjack match.) Perhaps he just can't make the next couple of big shows. Regarding The Pitbulls, they are not FWA talent and wrestle in many, many promotions. Before losing the FWA tag titles, they held four tag title belts each simultaneously. The worst part of Uprising in my opinion was Brookside vs Drew McDonald. But one bad match out of nine or so isn't bad at all. Best wishes, Andy

Best wishes, Andy Copyrighted or not, i ust think its shows lack ofimagination if they copy wwe stuff. Im not saying they are, its just that curry's preview made it look as though they could be. Do you know why the Pitbulls haved left now then? I agree with you that Brookside/McDonald was bad as well. But at least it was a match, in my opinion, the Pitbulls "match" never even got started. Chunk 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2002 No one said The Pitbulls had left. Best wishes, Andy Ok, its just the way it was written, that confused me. "to bring the titles back to the FWA" -> makes it sound like the pitbulls are no longer part of the fwa. ChUnK!

Maybe they won't be, but they are well known on the UK circuit, so as long as both Shane/Sloan/Elisar and the Pitbulls are happy working together, it should be okay. Guest Last Warrior Report post Posted November 17, 2002 Thanks for the feedback. I would like to go into more detail in the reviews but alas I have word restrictions and also I have got to keep it interesting and most people are just bothered with the show itself rather all the backstage details. If you want FWA chat then you should really go to the official FWA forum where it is full of dedicated fans that will know the answer to nearly everything you will want to know. Chunk 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2002 I do post in there as well from time to time. Do you think that a wrestling column will ever make it into the actual Sun newspaper. I know they do one in The Star, and I think it could be reasonably popular (i.e if it was only done weekly). ChUnK!
Guest Last Warrior Report post Posted November 19, 2002 I cant see a wrestling column happening any time soon in The Sun. Even if it did I would have no hand in it and it would be done by The Lilsboys probably. I dont really think that there would be much of a market for it either really. If done in a mark style, people would get bored with it. If it was done in a smark style then it would have very limited appeal. The key is to find a balance and even if that was achieved I doubt it would be hugely successful.

Yeah, I can see what you mean, its just that i did notice a column in the star the other day. so it got me thinking if the sun would ever do it. Do papers in america cover wrestling? Either Smark or Mark? ChUnK!
