Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 24, 2002 Report Posted November 24, 2002 I was just wondering because if WWE had put the SSP for brock in the game, they might have someday intended for him to use it. I guess it's too risky for the next big thing to come off the top like that. No, when Brock does the SSP it will be a huge shock to 99% percent of the audience. They don't want to spoil it by putting it in the game for him, when he hasn't done it yet.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted November 25, 2002 Report Posted November 25, 2002 This game rules. I got it a few days ago and you can make the ultimate Rudo. You can pin someone with the feet on the ropes. CHEAT TO WIN!

Guest Angle-plex Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I just had a Mark Henry vs Albert match, and even on the games they suck. It was one of the worst matches I've ever had on a Smackdown game.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 All rudos must have these moves: 1: beg off low blow. 2: school boy roll up with feet on ropes 3: school boy roll up with pulling of the tights. 4: Jericho's cocky pin 5: Jericho's kick to the face. 6: Flairs's beg off to the eye poke. 7: Another low blow of some sort 8: KOing the Ref and grabbing a chair and knocking out who ever you face
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 So, here's the thing - I know nothing about video games and consoles, I stopped keeping track about 5 years ago. Are all you guys playin the game on the PS2 or what? I'd quite like to buy a new console, but what to get....
Guest DrTom Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Yes, this latest Smackdown game is exclusive to the PS2. As for what system to buy... if you want the biggest game library, get a PS2. If you want the most powerful hardware, get an X-Box. If you want to play updated versions of your favorite Nintendo games of old, get a Gamecube. Also, the PS2 and X-Box will play music CDs and DVDs, while the GC is too small (though I'm fairly certain they're making a full-sized version). X-Box has a great deal now where you get the console, 2 games, and the DVD remote (required to play DVDs) for $199, the normal price for just the console.
Guest RedJed Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I finally broke down and bought a PS2 yesterday due to all the talk about this game and Vice City. Just ended up buying Smackdown for now, and so far I'm VERY impressed. Last wrestling game I played was WrestleMania for Gamecube which pretty much blew IMO. This is so much better in so many ways. The movesets are much more solid than previously, and damn near everyone looks and acts like the real thing. They paid alot of attention to detail too. I have yet to even jump into Season mode. Lookin forward to it though. Only real gripe is that I'm having a hard time getting used to the different ways to do certain things, but that shouldn't take long to figure out. Seem to have a really hard time with counters.
Guest The Old Me Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 Okay, I've played through 1 year of the season with Brock, completed the full 2 years with RVD and I'm almost completed my 1st year with Meysterio. Watching the season end with RVD was great as everyone in the game made a HUGE deal that I was in the WM ME with Brock in a 3 stages of hell match. The last month just seemed really intense. Playing with a CAW was fun too, as I got to start on HEAT and kill the jobbers. Rey's 1st big feud was with Mark Henry. I should be getting him his 1st Undisputed title shot at the Armageddon 6 man. I think the game rules, and I can't wait until more CAW's come out. While many things can get old, just switching your character will cure that.
Guest RedJed Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 Quick question.........does anything occur in backstage areas like the locker room, parking lot, etc? Granted I'm not very far into the season yet (went about 2 months only so far) but I walk around alot in between matches in those areas.
Guest Goodear Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 Stupid Question Time... in tag matches, when I tag out I always get sent to the floor instead of the apron. Is there a way to get back up there and not jump into the ring so I could maybe get tagged back into the action?
Guest cartman Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 R1 when ur near the spot where ur partner usually stands on the apron.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 Just out of curiosity, how do you take weapons from underneath the ring? I have seen my opponents do it, but I could never figure out how it is done.
Guest kingkamala Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 just press R1 right in the middle of the apron but you can only do it once
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 It seems if you don't really do anything your character is already on the fast track to the Undisputed title. I think after we get done unlocking everything we won't be in such a rush to win every match. as long as you have 70 pts and not have a PPV match you can be set up with a lesser title match.
Guest goodhelmet Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 ok, i still haven't bought this game yet. i really need to know how many CAW's are possible with one memory card. I have heard 18 and 36 but no one has given me a definitive answer.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 I don't have this game either, but I'm thinking about it. My question is is it still Smackdown? Meaning... are non finisher moves still meaningless? is there still totally random and sometime no selling at all? is the clipping total shit? will i still kick out of three stunners and get pinned by a schoolboy? will i be bored with playing the cpu after about a week? maybe I should wait for the new firepro Downhome talks about.
Guest JHawk Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 are non finisher moves still meaningless? I've won quite a few matches without ever getting a SmackDown point, so you can do pretty well without your finisher is there still totally random and sometime no selling at all? Yes, but it's still much better than in previous years. is the clipping total shit? I have no idea what you mean by that will i still kick out of three stunners and get pinned by a schoolboy? Possibly, but Austin also has a stunner version that isn't a SmackDown move, so it's kind of a loaded question. will i be bored with playing the cpu after about a week? Take somebody different in the Season mode every time (say Benoit the first time, Val the second, CAW the third) and there should be enough differences to at least keep that somewhat entertaining, but if you stick with exhibition mode, then probably.
Guest chirs3 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Ok, I just rented it, and I have a question. As Rob Van Dam, I managed to do the springboard jumpkick (running at the ropes, jump and spring off second rope, kick to face) by accident, and I can't do it again. How do I pull that off?
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Heres a interesting Tidbit Undertaker's Tombstone.... He does it just like he Tombstone Shane in 2001's Survivor Series Elimination match.
Guest goodhelmet Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 ok...repeat question... how many CAW's are you able to store??? also, if i edit a current wrestler, does he take a current CAW spot?
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I believe you get a max of 32 even with 2 memory cards... which I would think give you 32 for each...but what are you gonna do.
Guest DrTom Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 ok...repeat question... how many CAW's are you able to store??? It's 32, AFAIK. also, if i edit a current wrestler, does he take a current CAW spot? No. I've edited some of Brock's moves in my career mode (and I think I edited one other wrestler), and they don't take up slots.
Guest chirs3 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 People said they were having trouble playing with RVD? I've only lost one match with him (I'm past KotR, which I won), and that was by DQ, which I didn't know could happen. Well, the story mode is somewhat improved, all though beating Lance Storm in a suspension match then facing him the very next night does strike me as a little odd... I like the reversal system, and how easy it is to pull off all of Van Dam's signature moves... I have noticed that the tables in table matches suck. Royally. It took me 20 minutes to put Storm through a table, because the damn thing wouldn't break.
Guest Insane Bump Machine Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I have noticed that the tables in table matches suck. Royally. It took me 20 minutes to put Storm through a table, because the damn thing wouldn't break. That's actually really good, because it was much too easy to win table matches in JBI. Most of the time the matches were over in less than a minute, because it took just one move on the table to break it.
Guest chirs3 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I mean this in a bad way. I five-starred Lance on the table THREE TIMES, and it treated the table just like it was the floor. I'm all for the occasional "Ouch, didn't break the table, that looked like it hurt", but spending 15 minutes throwing Lance on to a table, getting on, doing a move, not breaking it, both of us fall off is a crappy thing.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 put table on a corner, whip him, press left and O and game over in :42 seconds.
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 Hell I made Rey rey with his moveset, what the hell type of submission is that right O one for the legs.. it looks like a cross between a Sharpshooter and camel clutch. When did he do this? And who the hell else does this?
