Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted November 15, 2002 Tribute album...where a bunch of people come together and record songs by one artist. I'm going with "Where the Pyramid Meet the Eye," a tribute to Roky Erickson. The cd has R.E.M. and the Butthole Surfers doing songs, other then that it's a ton of artists who never made it big or even simi big. Songs include "Burn the Flames," "I Walked with a Zombie," "Two Headed Dog," "If You Have Ghosts," "Shake me Luicifer," and a bunch others. Just about all of his songs were about spooky things, ghosts, demons, and whatnot...but they were done well enough where they didn't come off as novelty. Guest JangoFett4Hire Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Not sure if this counts as a tribute album, but that stinkin' Saturday Morning's Greatest Hits is phat, 90's bands covering 60's/70's Toon tunes... Helmet kicks wicked total ass on "Gigantor"

Guest red_file Report post Posted November 26, 2002 Songs of a Goddess, a tribute to Tori Amos. It's not so much that it's a good tribute, as much as I like covers to be complete reinterpretations of songs, and this album certainly does that. Voltaire doing "Caught a Lite Sneeze" is almost worth the purchase. Almost. I seem to remember some German techo outfit doing a swank tribute album to Motzart or Beethoven. Anyone else remember that? I really should've picked that up when given the chance.
