Aren't there better forms and media of pornography than Japanese cartoons getting it on?

What's the difference? Just because some porn has actual humans performing the acts doesn't make it any better than other forms of porn. It's all fantasy so why would it matter how someone chooses to "live" the fantasy.

In NYC, some these stupid retail stores are mixing La Blue Girl right with Dragonball Z. I like all types of manga and video, including adult, yet even without a child, that concerns me.

I think the arguement here is that the store is too close to a school, selling obscene material in this area is a morality no no. The Obscene material might cause a mental mutant to kidnap a child from the school for evil personal uses.

And yes, scat, bukkake, snuff, rape, and their ilk are probably more damaging to a person. But then again, pretty much all pornography outside of a Playboy spread is bad for you.

Wow, just wow. Anything that isn't the most vanilla of sex is bad for you?

 

On a separate line, apparently there has been little or no research on Hentai/Ecchi done here as Hentai porn far more frequently delves into what has been described as "diviant" (come ON it is dEviant at least get that right) behavior in this thread. You've got to do _some_ research before you completely shut something down. Amazingly enough men who like Hentai might look at it and might get an erection and perhaps masturbate. Then those self same men might just go to work just like the rest of us.

 

Out of all of those arguing "against" hentai Razazteca made the best argument so far and it was nice and simple. A couple of lines explaining the slippery slope involved. I worked at a comic store low these many years ago and the owner, who had three successful shops, always said it was easiest to open a successful shop near a school. He would then take all the precautions with the adult material necessary. Top shelf, blocked off, back of the store and not visible from the entrance. These were the rules as laid down by the local Merchants Association.

 

Perhaps I am rambling a bit but what kind of attitude is "Only Playboy is acceptable?" So a little smut that YOU find acceptable is therefore the ONLY one that is acceptable? I personally don't think people should be allowed to drink AT ALL but I don't EVEN begin to pass judgment on those around me who get absolutely tore-up at least once a week. Should WWE be forced to take Raw off the air because the majority around here think that only Smackdown! is good enough? What happened to the "What goes on, behind closed doors, between consenting adults is fine by me" attitude?

Obscenity judgements are different in every community, if this case was within the Dallas area, let's just remember that TBN the religious tv channel is based in this area and a religious leader had been on TIME magazine, I think it was Rev Potter, but not sure. So the obscenity morals in this Texas Community is more strict and powerful than others.

 

Now if this book store was on say Harry Hines Street then there would be no problems at all. Since this area of Downtown Dallas is the redlight district if you will, but the stores outside city limits are the best for selection but I did find some Fetish German Vids that could be describe as obscene in this area.

 

I have seen some Hentia years ago and it has corrupted my fragile little mind. but it was OVA tapes so it might be different than the actual manga but still it is some disturbing material.

I never understood why one type of pornography is considered ok, but when you venture out of that one type it's suddenly evil and morally wrong.

 

Porn is porn and it doesn't matter if it's Playboy or hardcore S&M it's all viewed as being morally wrong.

 

I don't personally care for the extreme sex stuff, but that doesn't mean those who do are sick abnormal people. Hell i also don't care for Playboy, but in theory there's nothing wrong with those who happen to think Playboy is good.

Personally, I love hentai. Why? Because I find it to be funny as hell. Especially the sub-divisions of yaoi (gay hentai) and yuri (lesbian hentai). Yaoi is extremely hilarious, because where else can you see Piccolo mounting Goku?
