Guest Powerplay Report post Posted November 16, 2002 *Click* The sweet sounds of Mozart swirls around in his head, William Hearford III takes his hands off the headphones and reclines in his first class chair. While he doesn’t listen to music often, but classical is the only music he ever really liked. The refinement, the beauty, the emotions it could invoke made it the only one he could enjoy. Most everything else seemed…… crude. The old man sits back, resting and smiling a bit at the most recent of events. The World Title back in his hands, he can finally set a few things into motion. Though I have to fight Ejiro my first night with it. God damn booking. The symphonies of Mozart filters through his mind, and time begins to pass as the jet flies through the friendly blue skies over the heartland of America. Hearford’s thoughts drift back through his memories of his first title victory… … and Hearford puts on a waist lock on the Cobra King, raising him up high…. For nothing as the Champ manages to swift his weight around so that the German makes him land on his belly. Will maintains the waistlock, and tries to lift him again, but a hard elbow from the master of snakes forces Hearford to break the hold. The Champ spins around in an instant, nailing the amateur with a hard roundhouse kick that sends Will stumbling around in a daze. Quickly running behind the kid and bouncing off the ropes, the Cobra King charges at the stumbling Hearford, jumping up onto his shoulders and rolling forward right into a victory roll! The crowd gasps as the ref dives down for the count! ONE! TWO! THREENO!! Will reverse the victory roll, pulling the champ forward with his feet while bringing himself up standing and holding onto the surprised Cobra King’s legs with all his might! ONE!! Hearford strains and grimaces, trying to hold down the legs of the determined man’s legs down with what is left of his strength…. TWO! The Cobra King desperately tries to kick, moving his legs back and forth trying to get enough power to push Hearford off top of him…. THREE! *DING DING DING* The former champ kicks out a second to late, sending Will flying backwards to the mat. He pounds his fist on the canvas, trying to not believe what just happened, but the noise from the crowd tells it all. Meanwhile, Will lays on his back, facing the ceiling with the biggest smile on his face. He’s not really gonna get up; the master of snakes beat him down pretty well, but as the ref picks him up off the mat he has one solitary thought on his mind: It’s all worth the pain… … “Sir? Sir?” Suddenly the old man comes back to reality. He shakes his head a bit and blinks a bit, not even realizing he fell asleep. Taking off the headphones, he looks at the stewardess with a frown, quite annoyed at being disturbed from his sleep. The Stewardess promptly no-sells the annoyed look and notices the music from the headphones and notices the music emanating from them. “Oh, classical music? Which is it, Bach?” That’s Baroque, not Classical. I hate people who know nothing of culture. “No, it’s Mozart.” The Stewardess gives a nice, perky smile. “Well, sir I’m sorry to wake you up….” “Yes?” Replies the old man very curtly. “…. But the plane landed about thirty minutes ago.” With a quick look around the plane, he quickly notices that all the seats are empty, and that he and the stewardess are the only people left inside. Slightly embarrassed, he clears his throat and begins hastily removing his carry-on baggage from the overhead compartment. He clears his throat and the stewardess backs up to give him room to leave the aisle. “Well, thank you Miss.” He says quickly, though it lacks any really amiability to it, and the Stewardess gives a quick wave punctuated with a “Buh-Bye.” Hearford quickly walks down the aisle and exits the plane, leaving the Stewardess saying “What an asshole…” * * * * * The room was certainly nice. He’d rarely gone anywhere nice in his career due to his other commitments, and this was a change from the shabby motels that were in Ohio. The SJL had sprung for a Celebrity Spa Suite; something one up from what most wrestlers had gotten. He gave a slight chuckle at the wrestler who had a share a room with the newest acquisition, Janus. The 7’2” tall man had been backstage at the last show, and the champ had to laugh at the poor man who had to room with the giant. Throwing off his trench coat and his hat into a nearby green chair. As he walks over to the adjoining blue coach, his cell phone begins to ring wildly. *BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP* *BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP* *BEEPBEEPBE-* “Hello?” “Hearford, congratulations on your title win.” The voice says on the other side. “Yes, I finally took it back from that novice. What do you need done?” “I’m initiating the plan now. We can’t wait any longer. Our man is booked as the Mystery Man, and I’m already-” But William angrily cuts him off. “What?! I’m not ready yet! I don’t have the everything in place! I’m still looking for that clause in the contracts, and I haven’t eve-” But the voice on the other side interrupts him and runs down his reasons. “Listen, Hearford, understand this now: I’m the head man in this thing. It’s my decision, not yours. We don’t have time to delay, so we are going to have to do it now.” Hearford was silent for a moment. The old man isn’t one to take orders, but he’s not in a position to argue with the voice. “Fine then.” He says grudgingly, and the voice obviously notices it. “Damn it, Hearford, I want to maintain some semblance of a command chain here. I don’t need insubordination right now.” The voice seemed thoroughly peeved with Hearford’s unwilling tone, but after a pause he speaks in a much calmer, more controlled tone now. “The time frame change shouldn’t be a problem, especially for a man of your background. That’s why I put you in head of this operation. I’m not about to put some no-talent fool or a dishonorable snot in the head position like my predecessor did. For this to work, I’m going to need full cooperation here. It’s not your style, but I’m sure you can handle it.” Hearford gives a short sigh. “Okay, I’ll make do. And what about the clause? I’m still looking for that loophole. What about that?” “With the force you’ll have, you can do without that safety net right for a little while. I’ve been looking for it myself, but you’ll schedule is much more open than mine currently is, so you may find it before I can.” Hearford frowns at the recent turn of events, but goes on. “And the title match? Neither of us expect someone of Ejiro’s talent to get this far up.” “What can I say? I’m not booking these things. You’ll have to deal with it. You aren’t the World Champ for nothing.” A pause, and Hearford asks a question. “So he’s here?” “Yes. He’s been there since you met him last time.” “Do you know where he is staying? I’d prefer to talk with him soon and tell him of the changes.” “I informed him, he knows the whole plan.” “And if I need to talk something over with him?” “He’ll find you. So, do you want to back out now?” “Not a chance.” The voice gives a small chuckle. “Good man. Now enjoy your room. I put a note for one of my personal favorites in the wet bar, if you are thirsty.” *Click* Hearford sits down on the couch, and thinks about what he’s going to do now. After a few moments, he flips his cell phone back open and walks over to the wet bar, opening the doors and revealing a handwritten drinks list placed over the bottles of liquor. He has some calls to make and some drinks to mix.
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2002 The Stewardess gives a nice, perky smile. “Well, sir I’m sorry to wake you up….” “Yes?” Replies the old man very curtly. “…. But the plane landed about thirty minutes ago.” BwaHAHAHA.. I liked that bit, a lot. Intresting promo to say the least Judge. Finally you are developing more of an angle than someone who just goes from match to match. I hope this one has more success for you than the last. Good work, I can't wait to see more of this. Oh and Johnny Dangerous gets to inadvertanly filter into Judge's angle. Even if it is only one match. Judge..Like I said, I called it first.
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted November 17, 2002 I agree, that bit is great. Really reflects some of the reality of a character the Judge. Nice to put in the new guy. And interesting to see some stuff that has to happen for a wrestler, but is rarely talked about. Let storylines roll on.
Guest realitycheck Report post Posted November 18, 2002 ...Judge beat the main villian of G.I. Joe for that world title? Dude. Good promo, Judge. The talk about the mystery man was especially cool... especially since I think I just remembered who it is. You know, if I didn't think I was reading too much into this, I'd say that little bit on Motzart was a cute nod at... ::chuckles:: -Z But always remember: Chopin > Motzart, biznatch!
