I don't have much to say about Harry Potter, because we all knew it would do BIG business. Damn it, I was hoping "Half Past Dead" would have better numbers. I thought it was a fairly good Action Movie, with the exception of Ja Rule. But, hey, your opening up against "Harry Potter" can you really expect it to be big? 8 Mile and The Ring still putting up numbers. My Big Fat Greek Wedding still in the Top 10.....Bah. This Week's Releases: Die Another Day (Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry) Friday After Next (Ice Cube, Mike Epps) WOOOOO~! Discuss.....
The Dames Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 And thats just the first two days...damn. It'll most likely break the 91 million the first movie made in its opening weekend. Dames
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 I think those are projected numbers. Cause Potter did under $30 million it's opening day, I doubt it did $50 million alone on Saturday. Last week they said 8 Mile did $54 million...but I think the final numbers came out at $51 million.
The Dames Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 Even so....shouldn't they take Sunday's take into account, or it included with those figures?? I'm sure there are people seeing it tonight. Dames
Guest MDH257 Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 The numbers released on Sunday afternoon are an estimate for all three day. The real numbers aren't released until Monday or Tuesday.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 Critics pretty much burried Half Past Dead, even before it came out. Although to be fair, aren't most if not all of Steven Segal's movies pretty much the same? Big Fat Greek wedding will hit 200 million this week probably..
Guest razazteca Posted November 17, 2002 Report Posted November 17, 2002 87 million for the Potter movie? wow 8 million for Steven Segal and Ja Rule buddy movie did that Adam Sandler cartoon come out yet?

You may not like the movie - hell, some of you may never even SEE the movie - but you gotta be impressed by the staying power that MBFGW has had.
