Guest Annoyed Grunt Report post Posted March 5, 2002 Thank God Rhyno got injured when he did, because I have a feeling we wouldn't be seeing ANY of him right about now, either. IIRC, Rhyno got a fairly big pop when he was kicked out of the Alliance before he was put on the shelf. Chuckie Boy was fired on same show and now he's a tag team champ, so Rhyno could have turned out all right. Let's just forget that Hugh Morris and Chavo were fired on the same show. Except Rhyno was only "fired" because he was already injured and to give a storyline reason for him missing time due to surgery. If he hadn't needed the surgery he wouldn't have been "fired" and would now either be on the shelf like Raven or Kidman, or a joke like Booker T or DDP. Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted March 5, 2002 I hate vince for fucking over all the great talent he's got. >> *sniff* Pardon me whilst I wipe away the tears. I'll be the first to say that the WWF hasn't been afraid of churning out crap since about WrestleMania last year, but Vince has "fucked over all the great talent he's got"? I'm sorry, Jericho ISN'T World Champ, is he? Must be UT. Austin isn't the top guy. Must be Big Show. Angle NEVER is on TV, is he? Yup, they are truly the violated. -=Mike
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 i'm talking about all the wrestlers he could be using in the midcars. jericho's the champ? wouldn't know it by watching raw tonight. Austin is the top guy? more like a punching bag.

While I absolutely loathe the current WWF plan of having him become, for wont of a better term, Steph's bitch, he still is the World Champ. And who SHOULD be in the mid-card? Names please. Who in the WWF developmental territories should be called up? What independents should be called up? Come on, examples. I dislike a lot of the WWF product presently---but that's almost all due to the writing. The workers, when given a chance, almost always deliver. -=Mike

Guest TheMikeSC Report post Posted March 5, 2002 off the top of my head.... raven saturn mike sanders mike awesome kidman chavo tommy dreamer that's just a few. >> I agree fully on Raven, Kidman, Awesome, and Chavo... But SATURN? What is this, a joke? The man is death in the ring. His matches are dull and his mic skills are non-existent. And Mike Sanders? My God, the worst of the WCW cruisers at the end (yes, even worse than both Karagias and the horribly overhyped Yang)? His mic skills were vastly overrated and he couldn't do a darned thing in the ring. And Tommy Dreamer? Words fail me here. An inept worker whose only "ability" is that he's willing to get slammed through tables and blade incessantly. His next good match will, in fact, be his first. -=Mike
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 tommy would be good for the hardcore divison for exactly the things you used to insult him. I like sanders, i think he's got potential. Saturn can get over, he proved it when he won the feud with raven's flock, of course wcw than turned him into a cross dresser. but he'd be goo for a new flock angle. I thought Elix Skipper had far more potential, but the WWF cut him---so I guess you and the WWF agree on things more than the WWF and I do. <<Saturn can get over, he proved it when he won the feud with raven's flock, of course wcw than turned him into a cross dresser. but he'd be goo for a new flock angle. >> I've said it once and I'll say it again--- Re-hashes NEVER work. Ever. -=Mike
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 your right about elix skipper i had forgottn about him i enjoyed him alot. re-hashes never work but saturn can still get over with the right angel.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted March 5, 2002 Sure test has redeeming qualities. He sucks thus we have someone to mock. If we had no one to whine about this board would shut down. believe me, there are plenty of people i would be prepared to mock if/when test goes away (heres hoping). Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 very true though he wasn't horrible on raw tonight.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted March 5, 2002 I think in Saturn's case, the personality driven WWF isn't the bets place for him. The guy's a good wrestler, but he has the charisma of a toad(much like Malenko). I think the pre-Russo/Sullivan era of WCW was a perfect fit because he got over for being a badass(unless you include the horrible dress angle). But, then again, who knows? Maybe the booking diarrhea will finally clear up and they will give the midcarders some actual character depth and Staurn will move up for good.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 I always said that saturn and malenko would have been better off staying with wcw or even returning to ecw.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted March 5, 2002 True, I was thinking the same thing. Saturn and Malenko were more suited for a wrestling-driven enviroment, not a character-driven one.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 And things didn't exactly work out great for eddy though, but i'm not sure if that was preventable.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted March 5, 2002 What's sad about Eddy(outside of the alcohol problems, obviously), is that he constantly got his pushes cut off and ended up being just another jobber on the roster. I believe that last year at WM, instead of Regal, Jericho should have had a heated feud with Eddy over the IC title. Eddy was easily more over than Regal was at the time and we wouldn't have been subjected to that god awful Backlash match the next month.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted March 5, 2002 I agree totally on Saturn and Malenko. That's what I liked about WCW, sometimes just being able to deliver in the ring was enough to get you over. WCW fans were just better. Eddy could've been awesome in the WWF, but they should've let him be a plain old dickhead heel, instead of Latino Heat, cheating on Chyna, etc.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 That would have been great. I really disliked how they fast forwarded through benoit's break with the radicalz. They should have had at least one ppv match between him and eddy. oh and i wouldn't say Dean didn't have charisma, the storyline he and Jericho did over the crusierweight tittle is maybe my fav angle ever, and it wasn't just one guy carrying the feud, the difference was Dean did his speaking in the ring and that's a different kindof charisma
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 5, 2002 If you will racall the Backlash2000 match between 2Hotty and Malenko, the crowd was slow to get into it but they were hot in the end. Malenko could easily have gotten over in the WWF and the crowd would have accepted it too. Vince simply has chosen not to push the cruisers. As for saturn, in all fairness, his last two angles (or one long one) were him being knocked senseless and loving a mop. Not exactly the kind of story that focuses on your ring ability. Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted March 5, 2002 The next angle for saturn involves a lamp shade and getting hammered tune in to RAW
Guest griffinmills Report post Posted March 5, 2002 Is "Austin the punching bag" the same Austin that had a topic named "Austin is superman" a while back? Keep in mind that I don't get to watch Raw at all and I can only catch Smakdown once a month or so but those sound like two different people.
