Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Top to bottom it looked like a decent card..... With the distinct absense of... A DAMN SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION MATCH My humble opinion.... MOTN was obviously the Tag team 3 way match WMOTN obviously was the 6man Table match... Now heres my reasoning.... The Table match was one the most sloppiest PPV matches I've seen since the Acolytes and NAO did that match where the ropes fell off. (Not counting last months hilarity) Hell Rico Broke Kayfabe he was sitting perched on the Top rope and He CALLED out to Jeff Hardy to HURRY UP. Blowing a Spot. Actually The Majority of the Spots in the match was horribly blown, followed by misque moves. Though the Highlight is the Possible Dudley boys reunion on Raw show which Means... They will go against The Sucidal Thrill Seeking Blondes (Chrisian & Jericho) For the Tag belts. the curse would then Spread to the Cruiserweight and Womens match. you see little slips up here and there that made their Efforts look pretty Sloppy. Scott Steiner Debut on WWE PPV was actually pretty good. and he got the customnary BLOW the ROOF OFF POP from the fans. Even though he'll probably go heel the first time he grabs the mic on either Raw or Smackdown. The WWF World Championship Match (Thats the Smackdown belt) Was pretty Mericfully Short. Brock gave us a little clinic that YES even with a Broken rib he can Haul up Big Show in various Suplex positions and F-5 him. But we knew he was goin bye bye for a while. So Paul Heyman did the Heel turn (even though he was ALREADY a heel) and Big Show got his Big AHHHHHHHHH Chokeslam in and beat Brock. Big show will probably feud against Rey Mystero Jr now. Because this will be an Attempted Giant Killing Angle. Just to give Big Show Someone to Squash till Royal Rumble. The 3way Tag match was by the far the shining Jewel of this whole night. We got great indurance wrestling by Benoit-Angle and Edge-Rey who did the bulk of the Work, while giving the Guerreros the image of being "Rested" enough to beat what was left after the benoit angle elimination. Los Guerreros is a solid tag team, and Im Glad they are Taking Chavo Seriously.. Must be his good showing as Tough enough Instructor. I guess Billy Hugh Morris Delmot or LeMott or whatever the hell his Last name is will probably be World Champion some day.. Or Tag team with Saturn (Alla Eliminators version 2) Elimination Chamber match...the concept...ok The look cool novelity. The match itself ehhh.. GREAT start though with RVD basically kickin the ever loving shit out of HHH for the first five minutes.. then we saw Hell freeze over when HHH and Jericho teamed up to beat on RVD. Booker T came in and was doing good himself. He even got the concept of its every man for himself with him and RVD going at it. Kane comes in cleans the proverbal House.... HBK comes in and did his spots here and there. Funny how he cleaned house on T and Jericho and Kane. then cute bit of Kane Choke slamming HBK, HHH, Jericho. then he gets Superkicked.. Pedigreed and Lion assaulted.... then hell finally began to Heat up again as the alliance between Jericho and HHH broke down when Jericho remembered..HEY THIS GUY KEPT ME DOWN! So they brawled. I won't go into the details of the specific Eliminations because we either all saw it or read it by now... So which leaves us with HBK vs HHH and we KNEW it was gonna happen. They went into Summerslam part 2 in there for another what? 10 minutes Max? Few good Spots including the Flying elbow off the Top of the cell to HHH. (That might have caused the Throat BOO BOO HHH is complaining about) Then missed superkick get Kicked WHAMMED PEDIGREED no pin, then cover and kickout. Second Pedigree backfired and KICK WHAM Superkick and winna be HBK. but you all knew that. My opinion: THIS Event I believe has been one of the better PPVs this faltering Company had produced in the past couple of Months. Now would have been better at least for Historical Referance if they had a Classic Survivor Series match. Something like RAW vs Smackdown 4 vs 4 match. But I guess they put all the proverbal eggs in the basket of the Elimination Chamber. afterthought: During that New York Rant...Were you kinda expecting Tazz or Dreamer..or Both of them to just storm the ring and kick the hell out of them. I Know it was the vehicle to get Scott Steiner on TV...But you gatta admit, that segment was just Screaming a ECW Style New York born BEATDOWN. your thoughts? Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I was entertained save for about twenty minutes in total. Sadly they were the most important twenty minutes. Even the crap, 6 man table match, was entertaining in a car wreck sort of way. Solid PPV that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I actually really enjoyed the show. The crowd was crazy hot and everyone tried hard to put on a good show. Booking, as always, could have been better, but then again it could have been worse. Every match had enough time, and the Show-Lesnar match went what, like 5 minutes? Can't complain about that. At least we saw a changing of the guard with every title which at this point is probably good for the shows and in Lesnar's case, had to happen given the injury. Michaels winning the title might not have been needed, but it made for a memorable finish to the show. Good they put that pointless tag on Heat......that's all * 1/2 Tables match was a fun match, they got somewhat innovative with the table spots and I thought it was pretty funny with Rico having to yell out loud for Jeff to get back by the ring. Talk about breaking kayfabe! Jeff definately needs to get the fuck out of wrestling though, thats for sure. D-Von coming out was awesome, I definately marked for that. I'm guessing he'll be back with Buh-Buh on Raw, which is a good idea for sure. *** CW match was better than I thought it would be, compared to the other CW matches we've seen on ppv this year, this seemed like one of the best with some of the spots at the end. Knoble held the title for a good while. *** Ladies HC match was pretty weak, but I give them credit for fighting stiffer than I've ever seen WWE girls work. Of course half of the time they blew spots because of that, but oh well. Finish came out of nowhere and I was pissed they teased the mirror shot. * 1/2 Only real low point of the night WWE title match was short and best left that way, so everything meant something. Looking back, this was such a bad idea to even book this feud though, seeing what we've gotten out of it (or should I say what we haven't gotten out of it). But I don't fault them for what was booked here. Lesnar got all his power moves in and the F-5 on Show was f'n impressive considering the injury. Now will Show actually work as champ? Thats a whole other story, but with Heyman managing him (and booking him), you never know. ** I would guess we see a short feud with maybe Rey and Show (?) or something, leading to a rematch where Brock basically squashes Big Show to win back the title. I hate that Brock is going full babyface, but whatever I guess. Tag title match definately wasn't up to what we saw last month on ppv or maybe even up to par with the 2/3 falls match on SD but it still was a solid **** and MOTN. I was definately let down by the match overall though, as I thought this was going to be off the page. Theres no excuse why it wasn't either, thats whats so weird about it. There was just nothing spectacular to it or that made it stand out. Another problem was that it only went about 15-20, it should have went longer considering they wasted 20 more minutes on Steiners stuff and the intros and shit to the EC match. Guererros as champs is right on though, now I'm curious who they will feud with from this point. Steiner showing up, think its really stupid that they are seemingly going babyface with him, but maybe this will be a swerve for a heel turn later in the weeks to come. Definately a cool moment with the crowd going apeshit, but this took up way too much time. EC match was pretty solid, but the booking made this match from being just solid and really something else. I'm indifferent about it all because this was a chance for RVD or Booker to go over strong, but then again Michaels taking it ended up coming off really special and memorable. I guess the next few months will determine whether this was the right move or not. Van Dam and Booker being eliminated so quickly was messed up, and it might be possible RVD left early due to injury. At least I hope so because that was fucked up otherwise. Both Booker and RVD's eliminations got considerable heat, which Vince needs to open his ears to. Both should have been made much more competitive in this one than they were, period. Jericho was the MVP of this match by far, and probably worked his hardest I've seen him this year. I think he deserves a title program with Michaels at this point. Anyway the spots through the plexiglass were pretty cool, and the match had a decent flow to it. You could tell near the end of the match that especially HHH and HBK were getting tore up for taking those bumps on that steel flooring. This should be interesting to see where they go with Michaels as champ, I sure hope its not just setting up a rematch with HHH where he will regain the belt, because if thats the case, this finish was wrong.......they should have given someone else the belt and let HHH and HBK do their own thing in a program without the belt. Anyway, I hope they go with this gimmick again next year, as I think it has potential to be a lot better the second time around. *** 3/
Guest godthedog Report post Posted November 18, 2002 this ppv sucked. while there wasn't anything that actively offended me (even the opener had enough cool stuff for me to not mind) & everybody worked hard, this show was just so...bland. this is probably the most unspectacular show they've done all year. backlash & judgment day all at least had 1 or 2 spectacular matches, & king of the ring was at least spectacularly bad, there was no standout material on this show at all. the 3-way tag match was VERY underwhelming, considering my expectations. it really looked like all the guys were just going through the motions, there was no flow going on at all (except that one cool chaotic sequence with everybody trying to pin everybody). nobody was feeling it tonight, & there was some blown stuff involving rey & edge. when it was over, i was just like "...what the hell?" cause i kept waiting for them to get an actual match going. and this was the best match on the card. nothing exciting at all. maybe i'm just a jaded smark, but...seeing shawn michaels win the title surprised me, but i still didn't really care. EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Yes god, you are jaded I liked it all. Kidman=AJ Styles. If he hit the Styles Clash, I'd mark out like a bitch. Steiner had me going BIG TIME. Overall, a great show. More on this in my 411 report, of course.
Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Well, who's joining me in lining up for Puro tapes to make up for the shows I'm not watching? plural, that's right, plural. This whole thing pissed me off so much I won't even watch SmackDown. I'm finally and totally done with the WWE. Period. I was almost hoping HHH would win just because he'd literally have NOTHING ELSE TO DO AND NO ONE LEFT TO GO OVER. But no. They found a way to prolong the pain and I'm done. From now on, screw the WWE. You took the belt from a cripple who at least could work a little every week to someone who you get once a month if you're LUCKY. Fuck. -Annie

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Table match: ***(Entertaining opener with the glaring flaw of Jeff Hardy's two visibly blown spots) Cruiserweights: **1/2(not enough time, the Saliva performance before it was DEATH) Women's match: ***1/4(I MARK FOR WOMEN'S WRESTLING, DAMMIT) Show/Lesnar: *1/2(For the power shown by Lesnar and that it was kept short to avoid the flaws of the Big Show) Triple Threat Tag: ****1/4(not as good as last month's match, and they hopefully keep these guys away from each other for a while) Elimination Chamber: ***1/2(Lived up to the hype somewhat) RNN, MATTITUDE~!, and Heyman's facial expressions are all SOLID GOLD. Steiner's debut was obvious, but it was definitely markout territory, as was D-Von's return as a Dudley. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted November 18, 2002 You know what is funny is if you would have told me two years ago I would be a little ticked they fed Matt Hardy to Scott Steiner at his debut I would have laughed in your face.
Guest papacita Report post Posted November 18, 2002 It was ok...I really wanted Booker to go over in the EC and I was a little annoyed by all of the non-wrestling segments, but no major complaints.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted November 18, 2002 Table Match - **1/2, few cool spots, but Jeff Hardy aggrevates me, and I can't get excited when watching any of those guys in the ring. CW Match - *** solid effort and the near falls were great. He brought out that DDT I love so much I just wish Knoble would have kept the gold. Women's title - *3/4 Eh, I don't like hardcore BS like they busted out, but the worked hard, not bad at all. Brock/Show- ** Pretty bland especially when Heyman TELEGRAPHED his turn near the beginning. Awesome poser by him, but Show didn't seem to be working very hard even though he was ABOUT TO BE GIVEN THE WORLD TITLE. He had pants on too, that always makes him look lazy and unmotivated. Tag Titles: *** VERY disappointing basically because they have been fighting only eachother for quite some time now. Angle and Benoit could have helped the match if they would have stayed in longer, it was too spotty with little transition. Elimination Chamber ** - Crap. Everything looked totally mapped out and people moved like fricking slugs. Shawn winning was a cool ending, but I don't like him with the title. I only liked the match because there was a small chance Jericho might pull it out. I should have known better. Overall: **1/2 One of the worst of the year. Too many title changes and Bad Booking. Hopefully next month will shape up much better.

Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted November 18, 2002 I enjoyed the PPV for the most part, it's the results of some of the matches i take most issue with. After Survivor Series NWA:TNA has a better World Champ than either of the WWE's chumps.

Guest notJames Report post Posted November 18, 2002 "Well, we didn't listen to anyone when they said not to break up the Dudleyz. We didn't listen when anyone said they shouldn't be pushed as singles. Now that the damage is done, let's reunite the Dudleyz so they can beat Christian and Jericho at the next opportunity for the Tag Titles, for the sole purpose of pushing the Minutemen to title contention. Yeah, that'll put asses in the seats!" I don't know what's worse... Rico breaking kayfabe calling out to Jeff, or Jeff not being where he was supposed to be. Probably Rico. Jeff just swantoned through a table. Rico should have improvised. I think the women's match ending was improvised, seeing as how Victoria's mirror was broken before she could use it. Way to plan a match, people. Why was the Superfriends v. Comonwealth Connection match relegated to Heat? Why was the Show/Lesnar match so short? So that we could waste precious minutes on (choose one): 1. Saliva's rousing rendition of a song no one wanted to hear 2. Nowinski/Mattitude's 10 minutes of Memphis Heel Heat 101 resulting in a debut that should never have happened 3. Bischoff's in-ring self-fellatio moment (and really, if you have to waste 10 minutes explaining a match, is it really worth it?) Not for nothing, but did they purchase the Elim. Chamber from Ikea? Because it wasn't as impenetrable or unforgiving as advertised. Very disappointing gimmick. Not worth the hype at all. The SD!6 match was great, if a bit unsatisfying. The Angle/Benoit mini-drama was pulled off well, but ending the whole match with Guerrero's submission move was a bad... move. That match needed a huge impactful ending, which would have been satisfied easily with the Frog Splash. But no, go anticlimactic. Why blow the rest of the card totally away, right? Nevertheless, kudos to all six for making the show at least worth the $5 bucks I paid. I've already said my peace about the World Title matches elsewhere. No need to sling the bile in here. Ultimately, for a major PPV, this bit the big one. Fully Loaded shouldn't be this bad, nevermind one of the Big Five. If this is Vince and Co.'s idea of rejuvenating the product, I better start mailing condolence cards to Stamford. Heads are sure to roll very soon...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 After Survivor Series NWA:TNA has a better World Champ than either of the WWE's chumps. IT's true and sad all at once. Hell...even if he was still just K-Kwick the rapping tag team partner of RoadDogg, he'd at least be on par with Show. HBK doesn't rank because this is a big joke to prove that Vince is incapable of learning anything ever. How sad is it that the WWE has ALL of this talent at once...and the 2 champions are at once...the worst EVER.
