Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Y'know, I admit I've been an RVD fan. But even I'm starting to see that he is a risk to those he wrestles. Even though the person he murdered was Crips, a crushed larynx is a pretty bad ass fucking injury to give someone. I mean, it even pales when compared to the blunder that is Big Slow cracking Brock's ribs. Oh COME ON. He hasn't hurt anyone in a LONG time...and he hurt HHH because he was jumping in a stupid gimmick cage that didn't allow him too, onto a guy who wasn't in the right position anyway. HHH screwed HHH.
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Yeah I think RVD works weird, but i also think the "chamber" had a lot to do with the problems.... The mechanics of the high-risk moves all seemed different and I am NOT an RVD apologist as I flamed him pretty well for potatoing angle...
Guest El Satanico Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 And the worse "injury" he has given someone before this was a busted lip.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 it hasn't been that long, bps. he fucked over regal at a house show about, ooh, a week ago.
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 HHH screwed HHH. and he and my daughter can look in the mirror and know that I feel no sympathy for Crips... Vince McMahon didn't screw HGH Stephanie did....
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 it hasn't been that long, bps. he fucked over regal at a house show about, ooh, a week ago. What? I remember Regal getting hurt at a house show, but I thought he wrestled someone else.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 I remember Regal getting hurt at a house show, but I thought he wrestled someone else. lance & regal vs. rvd & spike. frog splash landed badly and regal got hurt. as i recall, you even commented in the thread that rvd would probably get punished for it.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Wasn't me. That's the first time I've read that.
Guest Quik Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Y'know, I admit I've been an RVD fan. But even I'm starting to see that he is a risk to those he wrestles. Hmm, maybe. I dunno, I didn't actually watch the PPV, so that kinda kills my crediblity like a Big Show or HHH title reign.
Guest Dangerous A Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 If I get banned for this, then fuck it. But I have to say this. What the fuck is wrong with some of you? To be happy that someone is hurt is just wrong. If HHH had killed someone (and no, not bury someone, I mean actually murdered someone) then I think it would be different. But he is just a wrestler. I don't think it's right to wish physical harm to someone just because you don't like them. If you don't like HHH being on TV so much, then stop watching. I have a ton of tv characters I can't stand, but I don't sit there and wish that a horrible disfiguring accident befalls that person so they can't be on tv ever again. What if someone were to wish physical harm to your mother, father, brother, or sister because they felt that they sucked? Or they felt held down in their jobs by your loved ones? I can't believe people here are glad that a man could've been killed in the ring last night and they are rejoicing. Is this how far your supposed "love" for wrestling has gone? Being glad that someone else is in intense physical pain just because you think he is the sole reason for the bad tv the last 2 years? What about Vince? I haven't seen anyone wish Vince gets a brain tumor or gets into a horrible car accident. Vince is the guy who is in charge and is a very responsible party to the bad tv, yet no one is jumping on the "I wish Vince would die" bandwagon. And exactly how the fuck did HHH screw HHH in the chamber match? I get newsletters and frequent the good wrestling sites and no where did it state that the chamber match was HHH's idea. It doesn't even say who's idea it was. HHH went along for a high spot that went wrong. I don't blame anyone for that because it's wrestling and there is a risk involved anytime you get in there. But to rejoice that HHH is seriously hurt, no matter what kind of cancer he might be in the locker room, is fucked up. If he were to get fired for his shenanigans, then fine. Vince wakes up and sees the light. But I don't want any of the workers getting hurt, no matter how bad they are. But let me stop being a bad smark. Fuck HHH. Fuck him up his stupid ass and I hope he dies. He doesn't deserve to live because I think he fucks up my Monday nights. Fucking shameful people.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Dangerous A, thanks for saying that. I can't stand HHH, but I feel bad for the guy. I didn't see what happened, and I don't know how high the cage was, but someone coming down with shin across your throat from even the top rope can seriously FUCK YOU UP. I like this board a lot, more than any I've ever been on, but I really lost a lot of respect for some people here with this thread. He hasn't hurt anyone in a LONG time...and he hurt HHH because he was jumping in a stupid gimmick cage that didn't allow him too, onto a guy who wasn't in the right position anyway. HHH screwed HHH. I think you're just joking, but unless there's something going on that has totally eluded me, IT BE SILLY YO to blame him for being out of position. Rob hits guys from everywhere so I doubt there's a set position where they should fall down. I'm assuming HHH was down and then RVD scaled the cage. If he was out of position, then Rob would've moved him. I'm not totally aware of the cage design, but the circular shape showed in the promo video looks like it wouldn't be the ideal place for top-of-the-cage jumps. Did it have a huge hole in the top or something? Because I'm confused as to how he got there in the first place. Basically, I'm guessing it was an accident, more RVD's fault than HHH. But "fault" probably isn't even the right word, since the spot seems pretty dangerous, and the perch wasn't ideal, so really just blame it on whoever thought it'd be a good idea. Again ... Triple H sucks and is my least favorite wrestler of ALL-TIME. But I hope he's not hurt too bad.
Guest cabbageboy Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Yeah even when RVD teased doing it and Jericho grabbed him I wondered how the hell that spot would be possible. I'm not sure if RVD will be blamed, since I dunno of anyone who could have really hit that spot. There was simply no room to properly elevate.
Guest Ram Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 RVD jumped from the individual holder chambers. It's higher than the pole of the turn buckle but they could easily reach and pull themselves up to it. The problem was the curvature of the roof of the cage. RVD was bending over to stand up there, so he wasn't standing straight enough to have as much control as he usually does. I think both men were too into the moment to check their positions, so when RVD jumped he was probably thinking "HOLY SHIT". It was an accident, warranted more by the cage than either man. That said, I have a lot of respect for Triple H for continuing to work with an injury. He has a lot of guts and willpower to continue on with that, and he's not as evil as a lot of you want to believe his is. He could have easily just left and forced the last two into ad-libbing Shawn's win.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 and on the subject of professionalism, for a point of comparison, rob's elimination seemed very rushed indeed after he jammed his leg. sheer conjecture and all, though. fair do's, props to tripper, the guy's a pro. after watching the chrisx2 vs. power-trip tag match again from last year fairly recently, i do have a lot of respect for his guts in finishing out matches hurt. it's more than nash or (possibly) rvd manage.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 You people are so full of shit. 99% of the "injuries" he gives are nosebleeds from stiff kicks. The fact is, that RVD is a HELL of a lot less dangerous than most of the big guys, because the only injuries he gives are cuts from getting busted open hardways. Now STEINER, that's a different story. EDIT: Oh and RVD finished a match with a broken LEG. So whoever said he couldn't have handled the quad injury is wrong.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Oh boo hoo. We're horrible people. You giving me a fucking lecture won't change anything. I hope that HHH can't ever wrestle again. There I said it.
Guest Incandenza Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 RVD was stupid to even try. Of course, using bps logic, HHH convinced/forced him into it, so that he (HHH) would be injured and thus be justified in depushing Van Dam.

I hope that HHH can't ever wrestle again. There I said it. Man that HGH sure is tough... he flopped around 20-40% of the time he remained in the match while people worked around him... He must have balls the size of mountains...(prosthectics are a good thing)

So am I, so is most of the board. Fact is, this is Pat patterson's fault for booking this spot into the match. He should seen that the cage was inadaquete for that kind of spot.

Fact is the reason I heap more hate on HGH is he is given a John Holmes push down my throat... if RVD were in Aardvark's place I'd hate on him if he did the same things.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Icandenza, where is that quote in your sig from? I know I read that somewhere and not remembering things like that always fucking kills me for some reason. RVD jumped from the individual holder chambers. Then I'll stick with my assertion that's it's the fault of whoever planned the spot. Aren't those holder cages plexiglass, too? That surface must've made it even tougher. That said, I have a lot of respect for Triple H for continuing to work with an injury. He has a lot of guts and willpower to continue on with that, and he's not as evil as a lot of you want to believe his is. To be honest, I don't wrestling with a busted larynx is that hard, in terms what we see in the wrestling business. Yeah, it must have hurt like hell, but at least he could move and didn't have to worry about hurting it further as much as he would a back injury or what have you. Now STEINER, that's a different story. I know he's stiff, but I don't recall him hurting anyone bad. Who do you mean specifically? EDIT: Oh and RVD finished a match with a broken LEG. So whoever said he couldn't have handled the quad injury is wrong. Didn't Rhyno just piledrive him right away to end that match though?
Guest Brian Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 It's hard to breathe. Extremely hard to breathe. People die of complications like that.

D-R-A-M-A Q-U-E-E-N......

To the point where Sting bitched at him after the match. As a team The Steiners hurt a lot of guys, and after the weight gain, Steiner has hurt a lot of people.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 "Aren't those holder cages plexiglass, too? That surface must've made it even tougher." The thing he stood on was the frame of the plexiglass. There was no actual hard floor for him to stand on, just that frame and steel chains. You could tell it was hard to balance on cuz RVD was trying to balance himself while during his finger pointing.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 No, he was in a TV Title match, and he fucked up a baseball slide. He wrestled for about ten minutes, and won with a roll-up.
Guest the pinjockey Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 It was Rick Steiner who hurt Foley I think. But Foley did point out that getting in the ring with either brother could be a painful proposition.
