RVD VS HBK

The match I thought could never happen. Even with HBK back.. still didnt think it would happen.. I thought after SummerSlam.. that would be HBK's last. This has been a dream of mine since I first saw RVD in ECW and this monday, it will happen. Now seeing as the WWE has a history of going a step forward and two million steps backward... can and how could they/will they mess this up?

Oh it's simple to mess it up and that's having HBK go over.

I'm really hoping they don't screw this up, but knowing the WWE, they will. I can see HHH demanding a rematch for the World Title, and Bischoff making this a Triple Threat match, HBK vs. RVD vs. HHH.

I hope they don't mess it up. I'm psyched for this match. I'm really looking forward to Raw, something I haven't done in a while.

Or they'll book a crazy non-finish type match.

Ref Bump

HHH comes out with a sledgehammer during the match, looks like he's gonna hit Shawn, hits RVD - Shawn retains, we weep

I'm calling it

Oh this is one of the few times where I am stoked for Raw next week. I read in an interview recently where Shawn said he wanted to put over the younger guys....well this is his chance.

If he goes over clean though, I am going to be sick. I've fantasized for years about RVD beating his ass.

They don't need to do anything to mess it up. The match itself will take care of that.

Seriously, it won't be terrible, but its not going to be anything to write home about. RVD is RVD. He'll connect with 25 percent of his spots and do some goofy selling. I doubt Michaels is going to go 100 percent. At Summerslam, he went balls out because he thought it was possibly his last match. Didn't see last night, so I can't judge. But I guarentee that on a RAW two weeks after a PPV match, he won't put the 110 percent effort needed to make this match anything special.

I would have much rather seen Booker win the shot. Here's a guy who is just as over as RVD (if not more over) and a much more solid wrestler. Oh well.....

1) RVD is WAY more over than Booker. Just listen to the pops from tonight.

2) Booker is very overrated as a worker. I'm not saying RVD is a great one, but Booker is no better than him.

Booker is much better than RVD when it comes to in ring work and even mic work.

Oh and I figure the question should be "How are they going to find a way not to screw this up!?" Because apparently they screw everything up without even trying.

Way more over? No way. I won't argue that RVD may be as over as Booker, but not more over. The crowd wasn't very loud the whole night, but they got up for Booker during that interview, chanting his name and everything. RVD's reaction was fair, but def. not better then Booker's tonight. Etrance pops are one thing, crowd reaction during promos and matches are a better indicator (Kane gets a pop for his entrance but not for his ring work). Booker had RVD beat in both of those things tonight and often does.

As far as Booker being overrated, he has a good, defined moveset that he uses it perfectly and can work it into any match. That is a sign of a good worker. Not RVD who does a bunch of "cool-looking" stuff that is really contrived and doesn't often hit.

Also so as not to sound like a bitchy smark who's been wanting RVD to win the title and now is bitching when it's in his grasp:

I would've been happy with any of the 3 in that triple threat match winning and am estatic that RVD is getting a shot and hopefully(doubtful) he will win.

Weren't you watching the opening interview? RVD was being cheered like crazy, with HBK in the ring at that. And throughout the whole main event, the crowd was mostly cheering for RVD. Booker had a chant in the beginning, but RVD had more and louder ones throughtout the match.

I predict a screwy finish. I think this could be a feud, possibly a multiple man feud. We may see a 3 or four way match at Armageddon.

I'll give RVD this, though. He became more than just, "Dude," tonight. Now he's got this whole babyface who respects the champ and wants a go for the belt thing. Which is wonderful, in my opinion. Hopefully, this character development will continue.

But no, I don't imagine Shawn will drop the belt at RAW. Not just yet, not with his speech about having a little gas left in the tank yet. I think he'll take it into Armageddon, with some kind of big match with RVD, possibly with Booker and Jericho and possible Trips involved. At any rate, until some weird finish comes about, I'm totally looking forward to next week, and I can't wait to see such a match live.

HHH run-in leads to a DQ. Then HHH gets shot at Armageddon, possibly in a 3-way with RVD. And RVD doesn't win.

Take it to the bank.

This will lead to at least a 3 way. No maybes about it. It's how WWe does things and we should all know it.

I can honestly say that I don't give a flying crap about this match...

I will say this, however.... If booked right, it'll establish RVD as a main eventer on RAW and judging from tonight, maybe he'll finally grow a coherent personality out of it.

I know that HHH will cost RVD the belt, that goes without saying. But I think that HBK will let RVD get over on him before that happens. It'll be a great match!

They won't screw it up if you don't expect a title change or get your hopes up that this is the beginning of a big RVD push. They'll probably get 10-12 minutes before HBK just squeaks by or Triple H interferes.

This might not mean anything, but in the original RAW preview on wwe.com, they said Bischoff would announce a match to name the #1 contender for Armageddon. And it did seem weird they had a triple threat match with 2 faces and one heel. I would not be surprised if the original plan was for a 4 way with Triple H and for him to go over everyone again.

You know, IM PISSED! I go to college in Charleston, SC for 2 years, and I get 2 Smackdowns..I decide not to go back there this year and they have a RAW with RVD vs HBK in some form (even if it is ended in HHH interference and whatnot)..

Im not happy.

Seriously, Im not happy.

I, on the other hand, am VERY happy.

Sorry about that though, Marvin.

I wouldn't mind an HBK/RVD/Triple H match at Armageddon if it was a Three-way Dance, and Triple H was eliminated first. I just want the HBK/Triple H feud to end, and have HBK exit as he puts someone NEW over.

Booker turns heel in this match.

They planted the seeds on Raw, kids, and you'd better believe that in the current WWE world they'll pull the trigger.

Besides, Booker has a lot to be angry at Rob over. The Alliance, Rob's beating him last night on Raw. Yes, I am sensing Booker T turning heel and beginning a program with RVD.

Just me though.

Remember that Austin vs. Angle match where HHH returned and it was a DQ after the 6 man Hell in a Cell. Well congratulations there's your finish.

If RVD went over and won the belt.

Booker is a person who deserves it more, and Booker and RVD would be better than RVD and HBK

How does Booker deserve it more?

For being less over and not having as good of matches for over the last year?

In that case I guess Test deserves it the most.

Did any one start to sense a Racism angle last night? When Book named everyone...I thought he was gonna say "Leave the Black man out? I say no, SUCKA!"?

It's likely what WWE would do to get him a heel...
