Guest deadbeater Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Somebody tripped Jeff up during that railing run; I saw a hand sticking out in his path.
Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Oh, I see it..............LMAO!! Like others have said, Rico should have improvised, do a taunt or two.......give yourself some heel heat.......
Guest snowfan Report post Posted November 21, 2002 never mind the fact that he is a goof and could have easily screwed up on purpose and lost NO heat...
Guest JMTapes Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Actually, the opener was one of my favorites. It reminded me of why I started watching wrestling in the first place. It just seemed like a fun match, and the MSG made it ten times better. That, to me at least, is what a PPV atmosphere should be like all the time. -JM www.jmtapes.com
Guest MillenniumMan831 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I saw the ppv from BW3 and I didn't audibly hear the spot . . . so was it even worse than Ken Shamrock yelling Ryan to slap him?
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Some people are defending Jeff saying he'd just jumped off the entranceway and that Rico went up the ropes too quick after said stunt, but when Jeff finally shook the ropes, he was the opposite side of the ring to the entranceway, so if he'd been paying attention to his craft, and stayed on that side of the ring, he would have been able to do the spot at the right time. Guest areacode212 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 No, he was at the other entranceway (there are two on opposite ends of the arena). Notice the side that he jumped off didn't have the doorway w/the TV screen on it.
Guest Breetai Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I saw the ppv from BW3 and I didn't audibly hear the spot . . . so was it even worse than Ken Shamrock yelling Ryan to slap him? He turned around, looked at Jeff, and yelled it at the top of his voice.
Guest PhilWalsh Report post Posted November 21, 2002 It wasn't Jeffs fault. Rico sucks. Anyone with sideburns like that sucks.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I think a missed spot on the NWA tonight was funnier...Malice was on the top rope and just fell flat on his face in the ring. BWHAHAHAHAHA! Jeff does look seriously fucked up out there these days. I too noticed that spot but I didn't mind it or anything. You have to remember that Rico is new to wrestling and might not have the experience necessary to improv there. As far as WWF audible spots go, Shamrock still has them beat. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Shamrock? Nah, you've got to give that title to Dan Severn, who entertained us for... well, he should have never been in the WWF to begin with.
Guest notJames Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Shamrock? Nah, you've got to give that title to Dan Severn, who entertained us for... well, he should have never been in the WWF to begin with. I'm confused... did The Beast call out any spots while he was with Vince and Co.?
Guest evilhomer Report post Posted November 21, 2002 This is one of those ones where everyone fucked up. Rico got up too soon and didn't improvise, Jeff didn't get there soon enough, Bubba and Jamal didn't see what was happening and improvise either. The argument can go on forever, and nobody can defininately be blamed. But the fact remains - Funniest called spot ever.

Guest ryankeast Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Shamrock spot call wins hands down. With Rico and Jeff's fuck up a close second.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I've still got the Shamrock "Slap Me" bit and that isn't nearly as bad as Rico's because while Ken tries to "whisper" as much as he could, Rico said that shit LOUD. That reminds me of a story I read once in the Torch a few years back. Sham was in the middle of his feud with The Rock over the IC title and were doing house shows in California. During an Irish Whip sequence, Shamrock yells out "CLOTHESLINE!" at the top of his lungs before performing it on Rocky. Right after, both men broke kayfabe and just couldn't stop laughing, including the ref. Dames
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 it's the sort of thing you'd expect the great owen hart doing at a house show, against austin or something, he's shout stun me while austin was on the top rope, that would have been classic... (btw, when was the last time austin was on the top rope??)

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I remember them! i don't know, i recall Austin hit an axe handle off the top rope once, when was the last time you saw someone do a double axe handle these days! (doesn't require an answer, and DONT answer WCW )
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted November 21, 2002 ...Austin has done LOADS of top-rope and middle-rope superplexes since the beginning of 2001.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2002 yeah i suppose so, i was thinking more of aeriel moves, rather than superplexes..

Guest snowfan Report post Posted November 22, 2002 never mind the fact that he is a goof and could have easily screwed up on purpose and lost NO heat... Yeah, that makes sence. Assclown beg your pardon... "assclown" twit? Just because I wouldn't book Rico that way doesn't mean that is not how he is percieved. He could have "slipped" or whatever and NONE of those flaws would have been so obviously exposed. Instead he pipes off in a 12 year old's "I just touched my first tit" shrill voice and exposed the missed spot. The guy is not "serious". It does make sense. A pro would have done ANYTHING but look that stupid.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Rico could have done the YMCA dance and slipped off the top rope.
