Guest JericholicEdgeHead Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 SmackDown! preview for Nov. 21, 2002 SmackDown! emanates from Hartford, Conn., at 8/7 CT this Thursday night with the fallout from Survivor Series on the horizon. The Big Show accomplished an incredible feat by defeating previously unbeaten Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. But the new champion already has Superstars gunning to dethrone him. This Thursday night, the WWE Championship goes on the line as Edge gets his first title shot on SmackDown! Edge will have to be ready not only for Show's raw power, but for the devious Paul Heyman as well. Heyman's in Big Show's corner now, making this event a true crowd-pleaser. Tune in at 8/7 CT Thursday on UPN to watch it all unfold! Another new champion will put his title on the line this Thursday night as Billy Kidman takes on Tajiri. Kidman took the Cruiserweight Championship in impressive fashion on Sunday night. Is he just a flash in the pan or does Kidman have what it takes to hold onto his title? Tune in and see. The Guerreros get a reprieve from defending their newly captured WWE Tag Team Titles, but they'll still see action this Thursday night! Chavo will clash with Chris Benoit and Eddie will mix it up with Kurt Angle! We've seen all four men give some incredible performances in the ring together. You can bet that when it comes to one-on-one action, they won't disappoint! Rikishi will be looking to back that ass up on SmackDown! when he takes on John Cena. Will the Phat Man be able to teach the young Superstar a valuable lesson in the ring? Find out on Thursday night! Rey Mysterio will return to the singles division this Thursday evening. Mysterio takes on a man who's certainly steamed over losing his WWE gold on Sunday night -- Jamie Noble. You never know what you'll see when Mysterio enters the ring, and Noble is sure to be ready to dish out some punishment on whoever gets in his path. Catch all this action and more Thursday night on UPN at 8/7 CT! Looks like a GREAT show!!!
ChrisMWaters Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Hmm...this could be quite interesting... Though...why do I see Lesnar costing Big Show the match and the title?
Guest Brian Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 This looks really good. Mysterio/Knoble is one of my dream matches taht I hoped to see for the title. Maybe they can actually have Knoble take out his knee to get the time off, and Knoble can get the title back. Knoble and Kidman should be fun. Benoit turns on Angle next week, I'm calling it. Anyways, good thing they're milking it this week though I'd rather see Eddy/Benoit. Is Cena rapping again? Edge deserves to get up to the next level, though I doubt Show will be able to make him look any good since he couldn't be bothered to jump fro Brock.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Eddie vs. Angle...YEAH Benoit vs. Chavo...YEAH Noble vs. Rey...YEAH Kidman vs. Tajiri...YEAH Rikishi vs. Cena...YE...well...can't win em all. Big Show vs. Edge....BOO
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 BTW...that Boo was for this reason: This is Edge's first televised World title shot...EVER. And it's against the shittiest champion EVER. Way to go, building a guy up for that long to have him finally get a shot...on free TV vs. Big Show.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Big Show vs Edge-I thought this would be the next ppv main event. I think it would be the right thing for Edge to go over here and win the title, but that most likely won't happen. I can see Brock Lesnar doing a runin here since he isn't supposed to miss any tv time. Billy Kidman vs Tajiri-I think one of the new cruiserweights WWE signed will debut here. Either Spanky or Little Guido. Chavo vs Benoit-Benoit has to go over here. Eddie vs Angle-Angle should win this match. Rikishi vs John Cena-Rikishi already has a win over John Cena, so John Cena should win this one, especially since he should be getting pushed. Possible Matt Hardy interference to help Cena win if they want to continue that team. Rey vs Noble-Rey Mysterio is definitely winning this.
Guest Bricks Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 If Edge is getting his title shot this week, I hope Brock is ready for his rematch at Armaggedon because I'm fearing for the absolute worst with 'Taker lurking around.
Guest Ram Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Why is Rikishi still being put on the show? He has a big ass. He can do ass dances. Yay. It used to be funny. But I'm getting sick of this sideshow still being put on the main show.
Guest EricMM Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Because someone in WWE likes DEAN's ginormous~! Smackdown reviews, which would not be the same without Rikishi's prodigious posterior.
Guest chirs3 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 ... where's Mattitude? Edge/Show and Cena/Kish I can do without, but the rest of the matches sound fantastic.
Guest Brian Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I think the point of putting Mysterio over is to have Knoble snap in the near future.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 This really goes againsy my "Edge does not lose on tv" theory...unless it's dq b.s. More Rikishi...great, I'll be pissing while that's going on, and if it's still on when I get back I'll do a couple laps around the house. My Rikishi boycott stands! While the rest of the card looks good...I can't seem to be thrilled over it. Maybe it's just too much of the same guys every week.
Guest AndrewTS Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Okay...Lesnar was squashed for the title, and now Show is going to possibly squash Edge? If they set up a feud with Angle or Benoit challenging Show at the PPV for the title I think that they've began catering to Anglesault.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 BTW...that Boo was for this reason: This is Edge's first televised World title shot...EVER. And it's against the shittiest champion EVER. Way to go, building a guy up for that long to have him finally get a shot...on free TV vs. Big Show. If he WINS and makes the shittest champion ever lose the title in less than a week, then it's not "Boo". EDIT: Just remembered that this is the WWE and that won't ever happen.
Guest ManKinnd Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Does this event actually have the possibility of 4 ****+ matches? Sweet Christ...
The Dames Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Okay...Lesnar was squashed for the title, and now Show is going to possibly squash Edge? How do you figure that Lesnar was squashed to Show at Survivor Series? Despite the match length in his loss, Lesnar had 90% of the offense in the match until the Heyman turn. Dames
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 YEah. It was even worse because Show was squashed and done after an F-5 in less than 4 minutes. Then they put him over for the title. He's just oozing credability right now.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 They really should let Edge win the title tonight. Then they could have a 3 way for the title at the next ppv between Benoit, Angle, and Edge with Angle going over. That could set up Angle vs Benoit for Royal Rumble with them finally having the blowoff to their ongoing feud.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I don't think they'll have Edge win the title on free tv. The way they're building him up, his big win needs to be on a ppv.

Dames My bad--I heard Show won the title in four minutes. Didn't watch SurSer. So, he's so out of shape he can't even get most of the offense in that amount of time?
Guest CanadianChick Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Please let Edge win. Big Show sucks, as we all know. Anyways.... Billy Kidman vs. Tajiri-should be good. But I thought that Tajiri was a face! Chavo vs. Benoit-Yeah baby! Kurt Angle vs. Eddie-yeah baby! Rikishi vs. John Cena-whatever. Rey Mysterio vs. Noble-should be great. Sounds like a great Smackdown! Can't wait!!
Guest snowfan Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Edge??? Please dear lord no not yet let him get a better moveset first....
Guest CanadianChick Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Well would you rather the Big Show?
Guest snowfan Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Well would you rather the Big Show? no this weird bald guy with some sort of mettalic mdallion around his neck or a short canadian dude that looks like he can rip an arm off.... Edge is a bit green and while more credible than Show would make Brock look UBER weak...
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Hmm.......on one hand I want Big Show to lose. On the other I want Mini-H's big win to come at a big PPV setting.
Guest Max Danger Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Billy Kidman vs. Tajiri-should be good. But I thought that Tajiri was a face! He is, so? Faces versus Faces will work. Much more so than the Benoit/Chavo and Angle/Eddie matches(in theory). Then again, they are all over. Kidman... not so much, and neither is Tajiri. So... yes, this was a pretty pointless post.
ChrisMWaters Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Hmm...we'll have to see if Matt Hardy did anything... Then again, he might be in that tour at India...

Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 Does anybody do live reports anymore?
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 20, 2002 Report Posted November 20, 2002 I haven't seen live spoilers in about 2 months. WWE is no longer doing live satellite feeds? Usually we have to wait until someone from the show gets home and types up a spoiler report.
