Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Maven was actually sent to HWA, which has since been dropped by WWE as a developmental territory. That could explain his sticking around. Either that or the marks like him. I know I do. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest ryankeast Report post Posted November 21, 2002 Cheers for the info ID2BLAK. Do you think though that either should be anywhere near a RAW ring especially when you have The Hurricane, Dlo and Raven rotting on Heat. I not picking a fight just wanna know your opinion and from others as well.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted November 21, 2002 I'm really glad unenthused kids who couldn't make it as a worker can get a contract while guys like CM Punk, Chris Hero, and Chris Daniels get shafted. LOL. Chris Daniels, yes. The other two, LMAO. WWE has always been 70% Hollwood, 30% Sports Franchise. They will always follow TV Networks, Movie Studios, and Record Labels into the latest mainstream fad than acting purely like an Athletic Exhibition. So if Brush With Fame game shows and popularity contests are the hot order of the day, so be it.

Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted November 21, 2002 People act like going to OVW is some sort of cure for being a crappy wrestler. I mean, I have yet to see anyone who has come out of OVW that does anything impressive at all. They are basically taught the same 5 moves and then work some short TV matches, do a few house shows, and then if they don't totally suck they get sent up to WWE. This is the ultimate problem with the demise of indy feds. Guys used to pay dues for years in indys before ever getting a shot at the WWF. I mean you could do really small HS shows, then maybe get into a smaller group like Global or USWA, then if you impress you can go to WCW, and if you do well enough there you can get to the WWF. Now these guys just train with OVW and learn a few moves and get sent up without having a clue.

I thought you had been humiliated in an endless stream of NHB and CE topics. RE Your Post: They're fat slugs, no one cares about them anyway.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted November 22, 2002 But it didn't work for Big Show, Albert, or Mark Henry. So? I don't think there's any hope for them as far as workrate goes. Albert has the best chance in my opinion (I'm not going JR/Buffybeast on anyone), since he has the POTENTIAL to be like a skinnier Vader, since he is rather quick for a guy his size, although he's got a hell of a long way to go. Bad examples, since usually guys who are sent there are no-hopers. I mean...they aren't miracle workers. Although for a lot of non-hoss workers, tours of Japan would do them much more good than any farm league training will.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted November 22, 2002 OVW did work for Mark Henry. He lost alot of weight and I believe he was around 290-300lbs at one point. However Vince wanted him to go win that strong man contest so he had to get fat again and bulk up just so he could use strongman as a stupid gimmick.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted November 22, 2002 Not only that, they also reward Big Show for injuring the champion by giving him the championship. Go fig. Anyway I had a question. Does anyone know why they decided to bring Jackie Gayda in as a heel and Linda Miles as a face? I never understood that. Anyone that watched the show saw that Linda's character had a very high opinion of herself, which usually translates into a heel role. And Jackie was a sentimental favorite after working through the injury and the whole Pete-in-the-hottub situation. Instead they stuck Linda with Trish and had Jackie showing her ass for Vince. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted November 22, 2002 I wouldn't know about that, but taking people with legitimate heat and facing them off against each other is generally a bad idea in the long run (see Bret/Shawn.) They quickly moved her to Raw, FWIW.
