PROMO (Stubby P. McWeed);

"I was out of town on Friday which was why King posted the show, and since I just got back a few minutes ago at around 4 in the morning, no card until tomorrow.

As for Storm...good show. Good mix of strong promos and matches. The PPV is actually looking pretty good considering the thin roster.

Whoa, that was cool.... and I'm still champ? Did I read that right? Zuh?

....

ok....

Taamo and Frost... NEW champs! I'd be so proud of my stablemates if THAT FUCKER DIDN'T KICK ME OUT! BRING IT ON DEATHWISH, YOU'RE NEXT FLESHER!

heh

Orochi wins against CIA, proving that the light is something to fear. I know that's not making sense so I'll let him do it for me cause... I got nothing.

Zenon, the man I mark for the most, wins on his return and all is right with the world! (Y)

Sigil kicks my ass, kicks Ash's ass, but I still retain. I'm still a little confused here but ok....

ELM proves again that he is the man to beat because I know Tod wrote a great match heading in!

now.... PPV?

Goddammit.

Anyway, excellent show. Particular kudos to Tod who wrote a great match but falls to the champ with one of his customary really great matches. Sigil's debut was very impressive in my eyes, as was his decision to put himself over while letting Annie retain. Great promos abounded. The tag match was another close one, but in the end the Icelandic Giant and his trusty leader went over. Z is back, but if you call him that he may Gory Special Neckbreaker you to death. Hey, didn't I see Victoria use that move, like, 5 days ago? Curious...

Great stuff from Z, who's good to have back. I love th eopening promo, because it means 6 people or so are trying to kick my ass, and of course, that makes me feel loved. Capable main event as always. Sorta disappointed that Ced and Mak didn't win, as I felt they were BCW 2.0.

And I think I know who Sigil is...

You know, in Ohio a man comes to your house and anal rapes you if you don’t watch the Michigan and Ohio State game. So, this won’t be as in depth as my usual comments as I watch the game at the same time.

Mag 7 Promo:

Flesher is the best promo guy going today. He’s funny and entertaining while also quickly getting to the point. This set up a lot with Annie being kicked out and most likely feuding with Williams, the alliance between Mak and Ced established, and what I hoped to be building unrest in Frost. Did a lot with very little.

Mag 7 vs. Mak and Ced:

Do you guys want to be called the Bemani Cross Wizards or what? I was unsure of that. Once again, I wrote the first half and Flesher did a great job in capping it off as usual with a hot end and the finish I know he wanted to use last week. I love to know what people felt about my opening technical sequence, as I had never written anything like that before, but felt it fit the characters. I’m gunning for Raynor’s tag title record with different partners.

Mystery Man promo:

I’m sure WYS would mean something to me if I had been hanging around here long enough and paying attention. Whoever it is, I hope he does a recap of who he is for the noobs, because I hate all these guys showing up like I’m supposed to know who they are.

Xero vs. Z

-Is Xero even around anymore? What led Z to become Alex Zenon? I think that could be addressed more and if I missed that promo already, sorry. As I’ve shilled many a time, Z is one of my favorite characters and is a very passionate writer overall. I hope he can build a nice run this time and stick around for a good bit. There was a bit of ring rust with some of the humor and commentators’ remarks seeming forced along with the narrative action needing a little more description in spots. Kris Krygier? So, we have another new ref that no one will use. DRAW UP A DAMN LIST SOMEBODY!

Stubby is pissed promo:

Seems like ELM playing mind games more than anything, getting interesting though.

CIA vs. Orochi:

You really need to put in who is saying what. I was confused as hell, especially at the beginning. Orochi has a unique way of writing that leads to a fast paced and smooth narrative; you can see one move and sequence transitioning to the other. However, I find his syntax awkward in spots and I think I just need to read more of his stuff to get a full appreciation for the talent I know Orochi is.

Stubby vs. ELM promo:

The parent company thing feels like a deus ex machina to me, but if you write yourself into a hole, sometimes that’s all you have. Does Stubby know who the retuning guy is? I think that Stubby vs. ELM could be a great feud really and seeing the commish come out of retirement for one match would be pretty awesome.

Sigil vs. Annie vs. Ash:

Sigil’s match huh? Impressive. As King said, I like how he put himself over while still giving Annie the win and making her look good. I think Sigil could have won the hardcore belt here if he wanted, but it shows a nice lack of ego for him not writing for it out of the gate. I really like his writing style, which I feel is close to my own, just the melody of the words strung together and the pacing achieved. I always say a key to any hardcore match is mixing the wrestling and weapons shots just right and Sigil achieves that here with making the competitors sell well, which I felt was missing in Annie’s match last week.

CIA vs. Frost promo:

He wrote the first half, I the second. I believe it was a lot to cram into one promo, but we tried to ride the characters and the building animosity to make it work. CIA mentioned wanting to do an old Memphis style stip, which are always favorites of mine and I came up with the peripheral elements. Rest assured, we have the permission of all involved and contingency plans out the whazoo.

ELM vs. Tod:

I thought this could be the match of the night, and I was right. I thought that ELM could really use a win to bolster him heading into the ppv, and I was right. I still feel that ELM doesn’t break up his narrative action with the commentary enough as I’ve said before, but his wrestling sequences and ability to put other people over is extraordinary.

I basically just scanned the show, but more people should do that and at least post some impressions. If I can read more in depth later and do better comments, I might.

So for the ppv it looks like we’ve got ELM vs. ???, Frost vs. CIA, Flesher vs. Orochi, Annie vs. Danny and Sigil vs. Ash set up, that’s a good start, now let’s get more of the undercard filled out. I think a light Smarkdown with more plotlines strung together and some of the unspoken people for the ppv getting their act together will sit just right.

Same here in Michigan, Frost.

But no one gives a fuck about MSU football.

But anyways, I lost to a nice little match from Sigil (Didn't think it was him at first).

Oh well. I tried. More comments later! :D

THE STORM WORKRATE REPORT FOR NOVEMBER 22, 2002

(The "Storm Without Stubby!" ... wait...)

by Tom Fleshmussen of the Burning Hammer Tape ... Review

Well, I was waiting and waiting for this one to come on. In fact, I went through nearly a half-O of green... tea. Yes. Green tea. *shifty eyes* But I ended up falling asleep before it came on, so we're viewing this one LIVE ON TAPE~!

Magnificent Seven Promo

EVERYONE LOVES MAK FRANCIS~! OMGZ!!!!!! ... Geez, looks like Danno really kicked up the juice while he was on hiatus. Tom shills the feeder league and all his Mag-7 athletes, but calls Annie the Garbage Queen. I SMELL SEXUAL TENSION~! "Gee, Tom, is that a barbed-wire baseball bat or are you just happy to see me?" BUT MAK FRANCIS AND CED ORDONEZ INTERRUPT!!!! Tom goes all humble for a bit, and Mak cuts him off, pointing out the crass hypocrisy he's showing. Tom eats some crow, BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Frost isn't happy AT ALL with Tom making nice-nice to the Bemani Cross Wizards 2.0. Tom tells him to simmer down, looking like Johnny Cochrane ("If Orochi's fighting, you MUST have good lighting"). Tom puts over the Magnificent Seven and asks for help from the Wizards... but Ced says no!!!! He remembers when Tom made him retch all over the floor! Tom's all "That was months ago!" and Ced's all "Hey Annie... um... come apologize!" Long story short, Mr. Roid Rage beats the everloving shit out of Miss Garbage, and it's the COMMERCIAL BREAK OF DOOM!!!! I should probably point out that one of the road agents was Andrea Montgomery. Yeah, that was her, the one with the breasts. Nice to see her still employed.

Frost and Tom Flesher over Mak Francis and Ced Ordonez via Early Winter and Flying Headbutt

NEW THEME MUSIC~! Very nice mix, which I dub "Down With Th'Esaka?" And for some reason the fans fight over Ced Ordonez's towel. Christ, people, fight over his SPERM. I WANT TO HAVE CED ORDONEZ'S CHILDREN AND WILL HAVE THE MEDICAL PROCEDURE THE DAY IT BECOMES AVAILABLE. And it's the HANDSHAKE OF DOOM! Flesher's really politicking these guys. Mak and Tom exchange some very smooth techniques, including the OVERHEAD HAMMERLOCK. What, don't they teach that in wrestling school anymore? I NEVER see that. Frost and Ced scrap a lot, in what's very entertaining. Gotta wonder if that one will ever get blown off. SWANK~! doublestomp from Ced, and Tom probably feels the way I did after my last Liquor Review. Resthold, followed by the SHINING WIZARD! Yes, just make the royalty check out to "Keiji Mutoh" and mail it to "Tokyold Rest Home." Now really, why would Mak Francis think he could get Frost up for the Franchise Tag? To set up the Yakuza Kick, of course. Is MAK ever going to hit one of those on TOM? I'm betting no, as after the SUPER HOT finish, they all shake hands again, and Tom Flesher and Frost are your NEW~! SWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! This is reign #2 for Frost and Tom's very first.

Goofy Promo

WYS? WTF? We'll find out on PAY PER VIEW~!

Alex Zenon over Xero via GLE

Alex Zenon is ANGSTY~! The fans seem to love him, though. *coughCannedHeatcough* Okay, they NEED to stop letting Xero use that single-leg takedown. He just can't do it right, and it really ruins my enjoyment of picking this match apart for the sake of looking pissy. Excellent sequence out of Zenon, though, who's carrying Xero like a backpack through this one. He's obviously been working with Edwin backstage. Okay, Bobby's obsession with Flesher is getting CREEPY~! like a FEATURES CREEP. ... Wow, look at that crescent kick! It's like Zenon GREW TALENT while he was gone. Bobby Riley and Mark Stevens mock some inept writer who tried to put the figure-four over as hurting BOTH legs, MONTHS ago... christ, people, can you get any more bitter? OH MY BENOIT IN HEAVEN!!!!! ZENON IS DOING THE ROPEWALK!!!!!! Isn't this the guy who came out in a schoolgirl outfit a few months ago? Jesus, it's like he stepped into a Talent Machine and they shoved a big Talent Suppository up his ass! Bobby calls the spot as "botched," but it was pretty clear that it was planned. The referee clearly counts "Seven" twice, which leads me to believe that there may have been a LEGITIMATE botch on the knee strike, which was STIFF~! Tornado DDT from Xero, and he REALLY does that one well. A little bit more wrestling, and then FRONTFLIP GAMENGIRI! Christ, maybe Zenon's been working with Cedric the Entertainer, too. GLE!!!!!!! OMG! I'd heard about this before, but christ, that is SICK! Academic 3-count, and Alex Zenon better not use the lav, as he might shit out the talent he pulled out of his ass some time during the past two months.

Stubby McWeed Promo

Stubby's MAD. Dude, wanna smoke? I've got a dimebag. It'll calm you down.

Orochi over CIA via Piercing Light

Jesus, are they mentioning Flesher AGAIN? I swear, he's fucking McWeed's daughter or something. ... um... what's with the new song for Orochi? Isn't that from Kingdom Hearts? I HATE KINGDOM HEARTS! ... I LOVE KINGDOM HEARTS! ... HAIR~! And while Zenon tied Z to a chair and came in under his guise, but it's obviously not him because he has talent, Orochi... didn't. He hasn't changed his style, but yeah, the conviction is still there, definitely. NOW WE WILL FEEL THE LIGHT~! I can't help but wonder if this whole gimmick is stolen from a video game I don't play. CIA with the ROARING ELBOW and it's CANADIAN VIOLENCE~! CIA counters the Riot Of The Blood with... um... what the hell was it? He just kind of flopped around like a salmon. But still, the point was made. SWANK~! new finisher out of Orochi, who then babbles about Tom Flesher seeing the light! He's GOOFY~!

Stubby and ELM Promo

ELM! He's such a DEVIOUS little Mexican! Who's it gonna be? Well, if I know my poliCliques, he'll bring Xstasy back and put him over. All I can say is, I hope it's not that BasketballASA bastard.

Annie Eclectic over Ash Ketchum via small package, and Sigil

ANGRY JOHNNY~! Ash shows his mean streak by attacking Annie E before Sigil even gets out there... but do you BLAME him? Christ, I'D want to finish the match without dealing with Sigil, too. Sigil's fucking STRONG, man. He's just kind of swinging Asher around by his collar. Sigil grits his teeth and no-sells a cane shot... come on. I know this is fixed, and I know he's a big pain-free hoss, but that was almost as bad as Silent no-selling that kick to the jumblies. He busts out the table, but Annie sends him back with a Drop Kiss. mmm... hey, Annie, wanna drop kiss me? Nice little brainbuster from the masked guy, but he breaks up his pin. ASH USES GARBAGE! IT'S GARBAGE WRESTLING! BAHAHAHAHAHA ... I love shoot comments etc. Ash busts out the usual assortment of hardcore spots. LOTS of false finishes here. REDEMPTION~! What a maneuver! But GREEN MIST~! STRAIGHT FROM DEEP INSIDE HER GUTS OR MAYBE HER WRIST TAPE~! ANNIE WINS IT WITH A SMALL PACKAGE, BUT SIGIL KICKS BOTH THEIR ASSES! He's a badass folks, thankyouverymuch.

COMMERCIAL FOR HOME DEPOT! These people are paying to put Tom Flesher and Ced Ordonez on my TV! I WILL buy a weedwhacker! I WILL pay a little extra!

CIA and Frost Promo

Straitjacket match, eh? Nice, very nice. Winner gets a title shot! Frost will take ELM, and CIA will go after the tag titles with a partner of his choice. Now THAT'S contrived~!

El Luchadore Magnifico over Tod deKindes via Baja California Crusher

This one got taped over by Spongebob Squarepants, so I'll try to get a review up when my friend gets me another tape. Sorry, folks!

THE GOOD

- Tom Flesher's promo. It was pretty clear that everyone put their two cents in on how to book this, and

- Alex Zenon! WOW!

THE BAD

- "Hikari."

THE UGLY

- Stubby P. McWeed. Geez, man, get a facelift.

Well I wasn't expecting my match to win here, especially after realizing I made a really big error... in bringing out and setting up a table, and then never mentioning it again for the entirety of the match. Whoops.

And what's this? Looks like Orochi and I had almost the exact same gimmick idea at the same time, except of course for the whole Japanese anime slant that I don't have since I don't follow that sort of thing. Of course, I was going to drag out the whole "light/dark" idea over a bit more time... guess I need to modify my plans some.

At Flesher's behest, I am commentificating on Storm. Whoo.

The opening promo ruled it, as most Flesher promos are wont to do. Nice segue into the first match, good way to build the Orochi/Tom deal, and Annie gets outted...from M7. Eh. Nice stuff.

Speaking of the first match, the newish team of Frost and Flesher walk away with the vacated belts. Solid match, nothing overly "wow" in it, but I did like Flesher's sucking up to Mak and Ced. Nice character touch.

The mystery man promos...AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! IT'S ALMOST TIME!

Z's return match is above average as return matches go. There's a little bit of ring rust, though some of the awkwardness can be attributed to a low word limit as well. I think this character shift will work out well for him...

ELM screws with Stubby's mind. Film at 11.

Thochi's doing well for himself since the gimmick change. Another solid match from him.

More ELM/Stubby. I'm almost positive I know who the mystery man is, which make me VERY curious to see how the ME at Ashes to Ashes turns out...

Impressive debut from Sigil...what's with all the mystery people the last couple weeks? Anyway, methinks he has something bigger than the Hardcore title in mind. It'll be interesting to find out what it is.

CIA and Frost always work well together, and if I remember correctly something CIA said to me in chat the other day, this promo could have some highly entertaining ramifications.

The main event is always respectable when ELM is in it, and this show is no exception. Some awesome wrestling from the champion, not to slight deKindes, who seems to have written an excellent match of his own. Kudos to the both of them.

Ashes to Ashes looks pretty good. For such a thin roster, Stubby did a nice job of filling out the card. Let's see if we can get some momentum going despite ourselves.

I'll be over in the corner rehabbing my torn quad, if you need me.

::rehabs::

My long winded Franchisable comments got eaten so this will be quick.

I really enjoyed reading this show. Alex Zenon's return while average for him is a nice job and all angles got futhered in some way shape or form. Now if me and Ced can get some heat on our match everything will be cope acetic
