Guest Kinetic Report post Posted November 26, 2002 In a vain attempt to forget that I'm going to have to pay out-of-state fees to attend college soon--a notion that hadn't occured to me until today--I've decided to attempt to make a huge list of songs named after girls. In the process, I realized that this art in its purest form came all too rarely in my CD collection. As a result, I'm including songs titles that contain a girl name in them, so long as that's the context in which the word is used. For instance, if the word "April" was used, I'd need to know that it was a girl and not the month being referred to. Here we go: 1. Beach Boys- "Help Me, Ronda" 2. Beach Boys- "Caroline, No" 3. Beatles- "Michelle" 4. Beatles- "Eleanor Rigby" 5. Beatles- "Dear Prudence" 6. Beatles- "Julia" 7. Beatles- "Sexy Sadie" 8. Beatles- "Polythene Pam" 9. Beatles- "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" 10. Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted November 26, 2002 For Beatles songs, what about "Hey Jude"? Or is Jude a boy's name? Do cross-dressers count?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted November 26, 2002 Jude is a boy's name. McCartney wrote it for Lennon's son Julian. Sexual ambiguity doesn't come into play if it's a girl's name in the title. For instance, "Lola" and "Candy Says."
