well at least the ending was clean

you know, instead of the stroke, he should use the sto ala ogawa. where he can hit it at any time but it won't necessarily knock you out on the first go around

yeah...I don't think he was supposed to answer tonight...he wasn't in position too and wasn't even looking for a mic.

I think his answer should be obvious since he turned down Russo's guitar (and the russo-esque overbooked finish) to beat Killings clean.

It doesn't get any more obvious than that...he turned down the Russo finish for a clean one!

It wasn't one of the best.

Truth vs. JJ was good.

Lynn vs. Styles was dissapointing, but not bad.

Briscoes vs. Divine Storm was fun.

AMW vs. HotShots was fine until the lame count-out finish (even though it did fit their storyline)

Slash and Lee vs. Hennig and James was bad...and slow.

Hamrick vs. Siaki was just there.

Money squashed a jobber...and the jobber seemed to be pretty good. He didn't fuck up any spots, wasn't sloppy, bumped his ass off and had some nice transitions. Push this jobber.

Decent show, that would have been better if Lynn/Styles wasn't so seemingly one sided

I actually thought the Russo/Tenay stuff was not a minus either. We'll call this angle 2/2 so far.

Not as good as last week's show, but not too bad either. Lynn vs. Styles did seem disappointing with the one-sidedness and too much WWE-style brawling. Hopefully it was just a one-time thing tonight and Russo isn't regaining booking power in NWA-TNA.

This is actually the direction Lynn/Styles has seemed to be heading for a while.

Lynn has been getting the better of Styles alot more recently and AJ was cheating to win...now he can't even do that properly.

I think they've just done everything they can do to each other at this point.

Hi guys, back from watching the show! What an excellent show too in my opinion. Here are my opinions of the night...

-Briscoes vs. Divine Storm was a good match! I like what I saw especially from the impressive Briscoes at only 19. Match could have used 5 minutes more though.

-The Russo interview put knots in my stomach. I don't know how much of the Tenay situation is worked, but he seems to really mean what he says about Russo and I feel for him, I feel the same way. I got so pissed at this segment when Russo said TNA sucked and that he was gonna make it better. I hope they know what they're doing with this!

-Hotshots vs. AMW was ok. Countout win was kinda cheap but I guess it furthers the New Church feud.

-Hennig/James vs. New Church was suprisingly good! I thought Hennig and James were working hard in there and the match had a good pace. Again, bad ending but it advances the fued further.

-EZ Money is just so awesome. This was just an exhibition for him. I can't wait till he faces Kid Kash and relive some of those ECW matches!

-Looks like theyre trying to make Crimson Dragon seem like Ultimo Dragon with the new outfit. He seems kinda sloppy though. Him and Sonny didn't really mesh too well.

-The whole Bruce or Alan Funk/Brian Lawler/April thing is beyond comprehension but looking from the bright side of things, Miss TNA is no more, Lawler has quit (in theory) and Goldy and April might provide some HLA!

-Lynn vs. Styles continues to impress but I'll join the sentiment that they need to wrap up this feud already. They continue to keep things fresh though, as this was mostly a brawl style match different from their rest with a unique ending.

-Killing vs. Jarret rules the fucking earth! Seriously, this match was just as good as last week's. The figure four counter and Jarret's counters of Truth's signature spots were awesome. Im glad it didn't end in the countout and it ended cleanly. Plus the Russo cliffhanger at the end (even though Jarret's answer was pretty clear) is a good incentive to tune in next week.

-Overall great show! I was nervous after Russo's interview but as long as he's kept in check, we continue to have quality matches with clean finishes and compelling endings to boot, then bring it on. Big thumbs up from me this week.

I personally enjoyed the hell out of the Russo interview. The way he presented it really made me feel like anything could happen next. I like where the angle is going and can't wait till next week. Lynn/Styles was great once again as was Truth/JJ with a good finish. The NEw Church gets better each week and the feud with Storm/Harris is great. What did the rest of you guys think of the Russo interview?

I was baffled by Russo's interview. A lot of it is weird much like in WCW because I don't have a clue exactly what Russo's role is in the company. In either real life or storyline. I mean, we know that Armstrong is the commish on screen, and that Jerry Jarrett is the actual bossman. What the hell is Russo? I'm not sure what his role is onscreen or off it at this point so it is hard to figure this angle.

Show was again pretty good though.

A few live notes:

-Russo must've been hiding somewhere before the show, as he wasn't visible in the Aslyum until his promo.

-The dark matches all featured name talents for once. Harris Bros. squashed two guys whose names I didn't catch, Alan Funk squashed Rick Santel (the most tanned security guard), and Dory Funk Jr. & Adam Windsor beat Blackout (Rainman & Murder 1 from Wildside w/ Jeff G. Bailey).

-You probably saw me at some point during the Jarrett/Killings table spot, as I was standing over near those tables, holding my jacket in my hand.

-JJ never did give Russo an answer. After the match, Killings jumped on Russo and beat the everliving shit out of him (looked stiff), and the Harris's came out and tossed him out of the ring.

Well we know the Harris boys role for next week probably then.......Russo's new bodyguards or something. Didn't they do that basically too in WCW when Russo was a character but never shown?

BTW, I hope they show the ending there next week with Killings taking out Russo. I thought for sure Killings was going to be the first SE guy to join a Russo led group. Maybe give that time though.

Albeit it a few days late, I thought the show was pretty good overall. The whole SE-Oldschool storyline wasn't heavily pushed all over the show, but enough to get you interested. I thought Russo's interview was interesting, you gotta give him this, he can cut decent promos. I thought the angle at the end was kind of lame, but it still is better than most ends of TNA shows...it makes you want to tune in next week to see where its going. Tenay did a pretty damn good job, also. Adding Dory Funk in a small role this week was cool too, pushes the Old-school aspect. They got to keep up on those kind of things, it will help the world title credibility AND keep this upcoming SE-Oldschool feud interesting.

Thought Lynn-Styles and Jarrett-Killings were both solid *** 1/2 matches for sure. The rest was hit and miss, I actually did like Siakis work this week though, which was surprising.

The tag matches were mostly alright, but dragged out the show. I love that they are going to build more on THE feud though. I'd like to see James and Hennig tie up with AMW shortterm for a few matches in where they put the young guys over, that would help with shifting the program back then to the New Church and AMW, when AMW prove themselves worthy to get more matches against them.
