What in WWE are we Thankful For?

Recommended Posts

Guest Will Scarlet

I am thankful that the WWF can still put out good video games.

I am thankful for Chris Nowinski, Maven, and Al Snow.

I am thankful that Funaki is awesome.

I am thankful that Tajiri actually beat somebody on Smackdown.

I am thankful that teaming with Chris Jericho is giving Christian more air time and the return of his awesome theme music.

I am thankful they broke up the Un-Americans.

I am thankful for Velocity.

And lastly, I am thankful for Smackdown. Without it, I doubt I would watch the WWF much.

Heyman is nothing but Russo2k.  Everyone thought Russo was all awesome by booking Eddie, Benoit, Mysterio, Hart, Jarrett, and Booker into the major angles - but he did it to make himself look cool to the smarks.  Thats what Heyman is doing now; but if he did what he wanted, we'd be having garbage matches ECW circa 96-death.

Heyman is a petty little girl with a big following.  He killed his old company with subpar shit, and the way Smackdown! has been going (stagnant) that brand will fall apart as well.

I agree somewhat with that. Survivor Series really exposed Heyman's booking for what it is after the tag title triple threat was not as good as the TV matches that preceeded it. Now that Benoit and Angle are STILL fighting Chavo and Eddie, I've cooled on Heyman considerably. Yes, the Big Show angle is well-done and effective (aside from the non-supsense for the Show/Brock rematch). But it's no coincidence that it's the angle involving Heyman himself. As for ECW, I still don't understand why he'd put his World title on mediocrity like Justnot Credible and not RVD. Despite all, Heyman is still better than that Gerwitz idiot and Dunn the retard.

BTW, it was Michael Hayes that pushed for Benoit winning the title.

I really like the Benoit/Angle interactions, so I'm thankful for them being on WWE TV.

I am thankful for Triple H! Yes..and here is why

Mr. Helmsley has shown the WORLD that, despite being impotent, having no talent, making about as much sense on a microphone as the Queen in playboy and just all round SUCKING, he can still be at the top of the company, make millions AND get laid by a hot bitch.

Triple H, i love you!

I’m not going to blame Heyman for what was Survivor Series. The triple threat match had no right being as good as the TV matches: generally, triple threat matches are never as good as the singles matches. The booking was fine: the right team went over the right team, Benoit and Angle played out more dissent without the tag titles to keep them together. As of last week, the booking was still in good shape: Angle and Benoit both won their singles matches and would get the tag match, only to have Benoit turn on Angle to go with his friends, realizing he could be with the tag champs and that the gold wasn’t worth it for tagging with Angle. Next week, put the matches on the table for the pay per view: Angle vs. Benoit, Rey/Edge vs.Guerreros, Knoble vs. Kidman. Have an eight-man tag on the show a week before Armageddon with Benoit/Guerrero/Knoble vs. Angle/Rey/Edge/Kidman, with Mysterio pinning Knoble. At Armageddon, Knoble wins the cruiser strap with Nunzio’s help; Nunzio convinces Knoble to interfere in the tag match and he hits Rey in the knee with the belt setting up el Paso Lasso and the win; Benoit cheats like a Guerrero to defeat Angle and setting up an injury angle for him; and Lesnar defeats Big Show.

I think that a few things threw this plan off. Mysterio’s going to be injured before Armageddon, getting his knee scoped December 5th. And Lesnar’s face turn going so well and the focus being shifted to Heyman. They could still essentially pull it off, but after the Big Show push and all the focus on that, and the injuries they’ve stepped back on a lot of the lower card storylines and stalled on Angle/Lesnar plans. That’s why all the mid-card storylines are all in limbo right now whereas before things were progressing fine.

What Heyman did during 1996 was totally different. When Heyman sees good worker, he likes to pair them up and exploit what the have. The reason there were a lot of garbage brawls during that time was that there were a lot of garbage workers. But take a look at what he did when Juventud and Mysterio came. Or Eddy and Malenko. Or Tajiri and Super Crazy. Paired the together almost to death. Fortunately, he’s got a few more combinations to work with.

Hayes pushed for Show. I’ve never seen anywhere else. McMahon pitched it, he pushed it. Hayes is a known Wight protractor, and every newsletter I’ve heard from has him pushing it and it makes total sense.

One thing that hurt the tag title match being there live was that the crowd was PISSED that Lesnar lost and the only thing that would've brought them back in was Angle kicking ass since he was the most over.

Angle/Benoit getting eliminated first caused the crowd to just completely tune out the match

I'm thankful that Mick Foley achieved his dream and then went out of the business the right way.

I'm thankful that I still have all of ECW's television shows from mid 1994 until August 1997 on tape.

I'm thankful Benoit is healthy again

Off topic but I'm thankful that the Cincy Reds move into a new ball park this year, I'm sick of going to cinergy

I am thankful that Foley got out when he knew he won't take total control of WWF booking.

I'm thankful that Molly and Jacqueline are main eventing TV shows (Heat instead of Raw, oh well) demonstrating to all the others how to tell a story without poorly scripted promos, and the ratings are up when they are on.

I am thankful that Smackdown have some quality wrestling.

I am thankful that the Divas are getting out of their T&A shells and are becoming more all-around in their skills. I am thankful that many of them are still young enough to get the fans to notice their unlimited potential.

I'm thankful that Eddie Guerrero turned his life around, and established himself as the best male performer in the world

I'm thankful that-

Smackdown's 6 are being used against each other.

Chavo Guerrero actually has something worthwhile to do, cause he deserves it.

WWE is still going.

WWE performers like Matt Hardy, Jericho and Christian, Kurt Angle, The Guerreros, Goldust etc keep me entertained and are still funny.

NWA:TNA, ROH and all the other independents are doing as good as they ever have, and have more talent than ever, and the WWE isn't trying to kill them off.

Paul Heyman is working on-screen as well as off.

Trish is finally getting recognition for her work now Victoria is around.

New stars like Cena, Batista, Orton, Maven, Nowinski etc are developing well.

Storm STILL looks like Shamrock(cracks me up every week!)

That Eric Bischoff is in the WWE!
