My niece, Abbigail, died last night...

What I mean, is that she was three months premature, yet died after she has been living for about a month, anyhow...

 

...I can't explain how I feel right now. Everything from anger to sadness to rage to pure depression has set in on me. My niece, Abbigail, died last night, and I can't understand why. I mean, we couldn't even find clothes to put on this child to burry her in so we were forced to buy baby fucking dolls and get the clothes off of them to just TRY to see if it would fit her for Gods sake.

 

I know all happens for a reason, at least it's how I think, but why would something like this happen? I don't know what to think or do, all I can do is sit here and think. To make matters worse, I am a fucking asshole. Do you know why? Well...

 

...for the entire month she was alive, I never FUCKING ONCE went to see her, NOT ONCE. Now, as I knew I would if she died, I feel horrible, and again, don't know what to do or think. I just wanted to say this, or ask this rather...

 

...keep us in your prayers, thoughts, or whatever your choice of something like this is. We all need it, every one of us in the family. From Abbigails parents (my sister and brother-in-law, to my mom and dad, to me, to Abbigails three brothers and sister. Thank you, even if you don't give a shit.

It's hard for me to offer condolences in a moment like this. "I'm sorry" seems so trite; being an agnostic, I won't be having anyone in any prayers.

I had a dog die once. I ain't comparing your niece to my dog or nothin, since there ain't nothin that compares to a human life. Your niece probly couldn't outrun a greased squirrel like Butcher could, but that ain't really the point. The point is that I loved that dog but I kinda neglected him sometimes. I once forgot to feed him for a month and whooped him with my belt when I caught him eatin my Cocoa Puffs. Another time I left him outside for a few days cuz I was tired of him shittin on my floor and I think a bear musta mauled him, cuz he wasn't never the same again. He lost a leg and everything. I accidentally ran over him in my Trans Am one night--I was probly drunk, I don't remember--and that was it for Butcher. I didn't cry when my Dad died in that industrial accident up to the packing plant, but I died when we buried Butcher in my neighbors' back yard while they were on vacation. I just felt bad about not payin no attention to him, ya know? It ain't really the same deal or anything, but I just wanted ta share a experience that I had.

Yes, I agree that she is in a better place, as she had many problems, obviously. I don't know, I still can't understand why it happened in the first place.

 

The funneral is Monday, visitation is today, so wish us luck once more.
