Guest bravesfan Report post Posted December 2, 2002 Some of my young favorites are based on their college days. Quarterback: Mike Vick (ATL) -- Silky-smooth left-hand delivery . Fastest man in the league (besides my boy Ashley...see below) Running Back: LaDainian Tomlinson (SD) -- Mostly for his college days at TCU, where he was used to burning my Warriors multiple times a year. Fullback: Mike Alstott (TB) -- Berman's impressions of his playing style is hilarious. Wide Receivers: Terrell Owens(SF) and ASHLEY LELIE~! (DEN) -- REPRESENT~! Tight End: Jeremy Shockey(NYG) -- His bull-rush over that Texan on MNF was SICK. Sharpe, my old favorite, lost my vote with his decline in trash-talking over the years. Offensive Lineman: Kyle Turley(NO) -- Man, I so wanted him to tear open Marcus Robertson on that Sunday Nighter last year. Defensive End: Dwight Freeney (IND) -- College. Defensive Tackle: Warren Sapp(TB) -- dammit, because I mark out when he lines up on the offensive side. Great trash-talker. Middle LB: Brian Urlacher(CHI) -- Scariest white guy I've ever seen. Outside LB:Chris Claiborne (DET) -- College. Random LB: Ray Lewis (BAL) -- On here, just so he can go out and de-cleat some opponents on special teams, fumbles and INT'S. Secondary: Ahmed Plummer (SF) -- AWESOME. Champ Bailey(WASH) -- College. Adam Archuleta(STL) -- College. Roy Williams(DAL) -- College. Kicker: Jason Elam (DEN) -- HAWAII ALUMNI! Punter: Todd Sauerbrun (CAR) -- The man threatened to beat down ALL 3 of the Grammatica brothers! Coach: Jon Gruden (TB) -- Now THAT's a coach. If we're going old-school, I'll take either Bill Walsh(SF) or John Madden (OAK)...let's gouge some eyes out!
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted December 2, 2002 Favorite Quarterback: I do like Vick, but I'll be different and go with Steve McNair, not just because he's on my fantasy team, but he's a tough SOB, as was shown yesterday Favorite Running Back: Jerome Bettis (He's big and from Notre Dame) Favorite Full-Back: Marc Edwards (More Irish representing) BTW, Mike Alstott isn't technically a fullback, despite having the size of one, but he always gets to the Pro Bowl as one, so I let it slide Favorite Wide Receiver (only TWO): Hines Ward (busts his ass all the time) and Terrell Owens (I marked out for the Star incident and the Sharpie) Favorite Tight End: Shannon Sharpe Favorite Offensive Lineman: Bruce Matthews (of all time), Kyle Turley (active) Favorite Defensive End: Michael Strahan Favorite Defensive Lineman: Warren Sapp Favorite Defensive Linebacker: Ray Lewis and Derrick Brooks Favorite Cornerback: Not sure, I'll just go with a Notre Dame alumni and say Bobby Taylor Favortie Free Safety: ... Favorite Strong Safety: John Lynch Favorite Kicker: Martin Gramtica Favorite Punter:Todd Saur

Guest DrTom Report post Posted December 3, 2002 Favorite QB: Michael Vick. He's just so damn fun to watch. Honorable mention to Brett Favre for playing 5000 games in a row at such a demanding, injury-plagued position, and doing it so well. Favorite RB: Marshall Marshall MARSHALL~! The best weapon in the NFL. Followed closely by Priest Holmes, the second-best weapon in the NFL, and a former Raven who took his chance and RAN with it. Favorite FB: Mike Alstott. He lines up as a halfback more now, but he's a hell of a blocker, and I love his straight-ahead rushing style. Favorite WR: 1. Terrell Owens. He might be controversial, but he's damn good, and he plays on every down. He's also very hard to match up against due to his size and strength. 2. Jerry Rice. He's 40 going on 29. Favorite TE: Shannon Sharpe. He talks a lot of trashm but he's always been able to back it up. He also has a knack for coming up big when it counts. Favorite OL: Jonathan Odgen and Kyle Turley. Ogden because he anchors the Ravens' line and is goddamn good, and Turley because he's such a head case. Favorite DL: Warren Sapp and Sam Adams. I like Sapp for being outspoken. I don't think his recent hit on Clifton was dirty, but he should be mindful of the reputation things like that may give him. Adams is always in the backfield and is an excellent run stopper, and he was great for the Ravens. Favorite LB: 1. Ray Lewis. Sorry, Brian Urlacher fans, the best LB in the NFL plays in Baltimore. Your boy's really good, but Rockin' Ray has it all going on, and is involved in almost every play. 2. Urlacher. He's the best in the NFC and plays the Lewis role for the bears. 3. Derrick Brooks. A playmaker, plain and simple. Favorite DB: 1. John Lynch. He might be a skinny white guy, but Lynch is an excellent cover man, and absolutely kills people when he hits them. If Ray Lewis isn't mentioned by someone as the league's hardest hitter, Lynch is usually named. 2. Rod Woodson. He's been so good for so long, even changing positions once age robbed him of a step of that legendary speed. Favorite K: Martin Gramatica. He's on my (money league) fantasy team, and he has a hella strong leg. The accuracy is some good, too. Favorite P: Todd Sauerbrun, just for declaring a holy war against the whole Gramatica family. Honorable mention to Dave Zastudil, the Ravens' rookie punter who has BOOMED the ball this season.

Guest El Gigante Killa Report post Posted December 3, 2002 Favorite QB: Brett Favre. He's been the best QB in the league for nearly a decade, and the most exciting to watch. It's amazing how he can zip a ball into the tiniest of places. He takes many chances, which makes him fun to watch. Honorable mention to Mike Vick simply because I've only seen 1 full game of him (vs. Pittsburgh) and highlights. Favorite HB: Marshall's the best now, but I mark for LaDainian Tomlinson because he reminds me so much of Thurman Thomas. Favorite FB: Jim Kleinsasser (I think he's an H-back... which means he's both FB and TE, so he counts. ) Simply because he's always on my Madden fantasy teams due to his high blocking ability... and his last name sounds like "flying saucer" which is funny considering he's a hoss. Favorite WR's: It's a crying shame how underrated Marvin Harrison is. He's on pace for somewhere over 150 catches this year, and nobody realizes it... and he's been doing this for nearly a decade. My 2nd would go to Hines Ward because I'm a Pittsburgh mark, and he blocks and does everything possible to make every play work. Fuck the overrated shits like Moss, Moulds, Owens that rely on playing grass basketball to succeed. Favorite TE: Tony Gonzalez, simply because he's an incredible receiver, and has learned to be a better blocker. By far, the best TE in football. Favorite OL: Don't really have one... Favorite DL: Julius Peppers. Incredible athlete. Same with Jevon Kearse. I mark for the fast D-Linemen. Favorite LB: Sam Cowart He carried Buffalo's defense for 2 years... but injuries have caught up with him lately. Also, Bill Romanowski, because he's a total asshole, and I mark for heels. Favorite DB: Nate Clements Some Bills mark in me for liking him, but he has the tools to be a great CB. He's got the size, speed, and can kill people with his hitting ability. John Lynch for the safeties. Favorite K: Scott Norwood. Simply out of pity. I met him and he's a really nice guy, but "wide right" seriously fucked up his whole life... it's sad. Also, Sebastian Janikowski for being a fellow alcoholic. Favorite P: Todd Sauerbrun & Darren Bennett. Hoss punters rule.
Guest MD2020 Report post Posted December 3, 2002 Some of these are a bit homerish, but I'll try to be unbiased... QB: McNabb, because he's an Eagle, but then it'll have to be Vick. Running back: Priest Holmes. FB: Don't know. Like Hardyz1 said, Alstott isn't a true fullback, but he gets all the attention anyway. TE: Tony Gonzalez, even if he wants to be a power forward in the NBA. WR: Marvin Harrison (Philly boy, I went to the same HS as he did--missed him by a year), and Jerry Rice. OL: John Welbourn, Eagles. Makes Warren Sapp his personal bitch every year in the playoffs. Honorable Mention: Jon Runyan, since he spread his nasty attitude to the rest of the Eagles O-Line. DE: All time, Reggie White; now, Julius Peppers. DT: La'Roi Glover (spelling) LB: Urlacher, Ray Lewis, Zach Thomas. CB: Troy Vincent, Darrell Green. FS: Brian Dawkins--runs and covers like a CB; hits like a LB. SS: I'll steal Rodney Harrison from some other posters. K: David Akers. Money cold-weather kicker; not afraid to make a tackle or get the first down on a trick play. P: I'll steal Todd Sauerbrun from bravesfan for the same reason. KR/PR: Brian Mitchell.
