Guest Ram Report post Posted December 3, 2002 It's still wrestling at the end, and as long as something is entertaining I'll watch.
Guest Special K Report post Posted December 3, 2002 I have watched RAW about 3 times in the last 4 months, and haven't desired to watch it more at all. I've pretty much given up on the WWE. No new stars. No playing to wrestlers' strengths. No funny promos. Too much cripple H. The fact that I spend more time posting on this board than watching the WWE should tell you something. I don't plan on watching much wrestling 'till I make another Golden Boy tape order. I mean really, can they not hear Booker and RVD's pops? Or see that the magnificent 6 are the only reason Smackdown hasn't fallen more? I can be a fan of promos and vignettes, but if your writers suck, in that they can't build drama or at least deliver the funny, go back to wrestling matches that are at least 5 minutes. They're running the company into the ground. Heck I watched during the awful Mae Young/Mark Henry, Undertaker Satanist, worst invasion ever, embarrasing moments in the WWE. They always delivered something interesting. I have yet to care about ONE FUCKING FEUD in the WWE for the last 6 months. That's all I ask for, but since I'm not getting it, it's much easier to read a recap and look for signs of improvement thanslog through 2 hours of shit. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted December 3, 2002 I don't have much new to add to the discussion but I thought I'd just concur with what a lot of you are saying. -It's mostly addiction, I've been watching it for so long, and it's a part of my daily routine to go online and read about wrestling anyway, I can't see giving it up. During the stupid HHH has things pulled from his ass segment from RAW a couple weeks ago, I turned off wrestling for the first time, like ever. But I was too weak I turned it back on like 10 minutes later. -The thing is like many have mentioned RAW is the worse show, yet it feels like you can't miss it, while Smackdown is the consistently good show that feels misseable. As bad as RAW gets it's a live show and whether it seems it or not is still their flagship show where all the big angles go down. You never know what can happen, and I want to be watching when ECW spontaniously reunites, Bischoff shows up unanounced, etc. Smackdown being the taped show, just doesn't have that "must watch" feel. If anything big happens (and it rarely does. 1 WWE title change vs. a whole bunch on RAW), it will be leaked to the net and found out before hand if it's that big news (even if you avoid spoilers). So you can feel confident that you're not missing anything big, which is why I tape and watch Smackdown later a lot more than I do RAW. -But, as mentioned Smackdown is still a good show that's provided us with weeks of some of the best free wrestling we've seen on TV. It's worth watching for. -And like many have said, it is free. Im a wrestling fan, no money is being spent, and I'm not a football fan, or fan of Friends or Survivor so what else will I watch? The Torch suggested cutting RAW to one hour and taping it to make it seem fresher and cut out a lot of the filler. I would have to agree that it is starting to seem like when WCW had Nitro on for 3 hours and the show just would not end. Even at 2 hours RAW just seems like 50% or more filler. Maybe cut it back to 90 minutes, something.
