KRS-One is the best out there, hands down.

Jurassic Five, Slum Village, and Mos Def are also good. Check out some NWA and older Snoop Dogg tracks while you're at it.

Tribe rules all. On the more "I am a gangsta rarr" side of rap, Doggystyle is just about flawless.

I always feel like I should like Busta Rhymes more, but I've never been able to get farther than his singles, and still think that his guest bit on Tribe's "Scenario" is his best work.

ok, let me throw out a disclaimer... i know quite a bit about rap (hell, i know a lot about most forms of music) but am looking for that little known classic that hasn't seen the light of day.

I have a huge rap collection, but I really don't listen to too much anymore except Kurupt and Bone (mainly Bizzy).

Hmm, lesser known artist... how about Fatal (Hussein). You may remember him from the Outlawz?

I'm not sure about little known classics, but if you like Public Enemy you should give Dead Prez a whirl. I'd recommend their songs "Hip Hop" (particularly the "rock" version with Static-X, which is extremely unique in that it actually sounds better than the original by kicking up the beat and energy level) and "Sharp Shooters" with Talib Kweli (who I'd also recommend).

I've also been really digging Atmosphere lately. And of course, I mark for Del the Funky Homosapien and MC Paul Barman, although both have quirks that can get annoying at times. Oh, don't forget Lovage!

If you wanna talk Kool Keith, it would be a crime to forget the Ultramagnetic MCs. Look up "Give the Drummer Some," and you'll see what I mean.

Notorious B.I.G.

Biggie had the flow back and could rap with the best of them back when he was around.

I always liked Krayzie Bone, but don't get his solo stuff, get his stuff with Bone, and Notorious Thugs off of Life After Death may be my favorite rap song ever, right up there with Thug Luv.

2 Skinnee J's -- Loud Neighbor

2 Skinnee J's -- Mind Trick

I enjoy the 2 Skinnee J's. They're a rap group with clever lyrics, and a non-thuggish attitude. They aren't loop rappers, they have a live band that plays original melodies. A quirky, fun rap-oriented band that is sure to please. About the second song I recommended, "Mind Trick" ...yes, your hunch is correct. It's about Star Wars.

ReHab, in my opinion, best rap duo I ev ever heard, atleast untill their next album comes out cause they can fuck it up so easily.

And have to pimp Insane Clown Posse and company. They are not everyones cup of tea, but the guys have been doing it for like 10 years, they must be doing something right.

Got to push Kottonmouth Kings first album too, just such a good sound, kinda like a rap sublime but alot harder sounding.

Also, very hard to find, but I-45, if anyones got any mp3 of theirs, let me know and hook me up PLEASE.

anything from THE BLAZIN' SQUAD!

1. They ain't exactly 'rappers'

2. They're an English boyband

3. They ruined Bone's classic 'Tha Crossroads'

4. They suck

5. This is an opinion

OK, that's cool. Bone's version went to no.1 where it matters (USA), won a grammy award and is broke a Beatles fastest selling record from the 60's, I believe.

I don't even know who this "Blazin' Squad" is really, except for two things.

1) Their name is "Blazin' Squad"

2) They're a British boy band.

I already hate these guys.
