Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted December 4, 2002 I'm going to be pissed if Angle wins the Belt, then jobs it back to either Lesnar or the Returning Undertaker a month later @ Royal Rumble. It doesn't seem likely, but that my friends, is WWE Logic. Don't try to agrue against. Don't second guess it. Don't try to make sense of it. It's what always happens. btw, why you all shocked over Albert? You all read the Ross Report.

Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Of all the people to take out Rey, it's friggin Albert?! And now he may be getting into a program with Edge, yay. We've got "future main eventers" Albert, Bill DeMott and Bull Buchannon all on the show, JR must be orgasming over that. The feud that just won't die takes another turn into gheyness, Torrie/Dawn now getting into some HLA, which i'm sure will end up involving Mr. Charisma Al Wilson in some wacky incident. At this rate we'll get a Torrie/Al incest angle before too long while Torrie continues to beat Dawn every single damn time. And Angle gets to be sacrificed to the Big Show push from hell, tht's just peachy as well. But with Show/Angle, and perhaps Edge/Albert going on, hopefully Eddy and Benoit will be put together for a singles feud. A Guerrero/Benoit PPV match will definately make me overlook the rest of the crap.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted December 4, 2002 i dunno why, i'm starting to accept big show as a caretaker champ. Sure, caretaker champs are seldom a good thing, i just like anything Heyman's involved with i guess. Albert beating rey though, hmm. Less good.
Guest Brian Report post Posted December 4, 2002 This is some of the fucking stupidest shit ever. What the hell was the point of Albert injuring Rey? He's not going to come back and get revenge. But this is how you get Angle/Brock but I was so hoping that they'd stick with the Angle face push.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 4, 2002 btw, why you all shocked over Albert? You all read the Ross Report. I was pretty sure at this point not even the WWE bookers and writers are stupid enough to take Good Ol' JR's suggestions seriously. Sadly, I guess I was mistaken. ...FRIGGIN' ALBERT?! Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted December 4, 2002 I feel bad for Edge needing to feud and work with him. If Edge gets jobbed out to Albert, then it's really time to complain. Rey's only going to be out 2-4 weeks. He'll probably help Edge win, and Albert will be back to Velocity where he belongs.

Go Figure You're right. They could have had a match between the two and have Rey "injure" his knee in a freak accident. Then Matt could, in true Mattitude fashion, brag about how he injured Rey all by himself and how great he is (even though he had nothing to do with it), which would upset Edge and we'd have another good feud, with all the Hardyz/E&C history to back it up. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Sigh... another Albert push... Just what I needed on the one show that didn't need it. Why didn't they just have Matt and Vanilla Cena injure Rey since they beat Edge and Rey last week? Oh wait, that's right... it's called continuity and that's something that's forbidden in the WWE... Guest mach7 Report post Posted December 4, 2002 - Chris Benoit talks of his upcoming fatal fourway match tonight. All he's ever dreamed of is to become the #1 contender. He made sacrifices: his broken neck, his divorce, his kids who he rarely sees. He wants to be WWE champion but three men are standing in his way: Angle, Guerrero and Edge. He's been wrestling for 17 years, and he will use everything he knows to get through them to accomplish his goal since he was three years old: to become WWE champion. Is he talking about Nancy? And what was the point of giving him this promo if they weren't going to put him over? Am I overlooking something? I was wondering the same thing............ Guest Human Fly Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Albert comes from nowhere to injure one of the top workers on Smackdown. What was wrong with Hardy or Cena as has been suggested here already? Mike Awesome gets fired but Albert is kept and pushed, I don't understand it. Test and Albert should be a tag team again because they have to got to have some pictures of someone to get push after push.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted December 4, 2002 All this stuff is hurting my head. Albert who has nothing to do with Rey, all of a sudden comes along and injure Rey. Like others say, why not the Eddy or Chavo? Why not Matt? Benoit giving a heartfelt's speech and only ends up losing. This damn bisexual angle with Torrie and Dawn. I'm watching wrestling, I don't care about that shit for those 2 hours. Steph bringing up giving up the cat to Steiner. How would that prove anything. Man its sooooooo many possibilities that they could have exploited. But, of course...good ol WWE logic. I'm still watching though...so eh.

Yeah, that'll help him. Remember when Lance Storm came in during the Invasion as a supposed heel, and got a face pop for taking the IC title off of Albert? I don't think the perception of him has changed much sense.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted December 4, 2002 More Detailed Smackdown/Velocity Taping Report Smackdown/Velocity taping report December 3, 2002 Dallas, Texas Credit: Jake Taylor & PWTorch.com Dark Matches (1) Guido defeated "Unknown Jobber" with Jacqueline as the special guest referee. Guido played the heel here, getting the win over some unknown blonde wrestler. I guess they suspend the Raw/Smackdown exclusive rules for dark matches, but Jackie got a huge pop in her hometown, and after the match knocked Guido out of the ring for pushing her. (I apologize for not knowing all the names, they only announced them once, and I didn't take notes.) (2) Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas defeated Spanky and "Unknown Jobber 2." Shelton Benjamin has entrance music? I thought Charlie Haas changed his name to R.C Haas after the untimely death of his brother? (I could be thinking of the wrong Haas.) Spanky makes Rey Mysterio look huge? And could the unknown have blown a dropkick any worse? Questions abound. The match was solid though, and Spanky plays the Spike role of getting beat up a lot well. He seriously needs to put on some clothes though. Guys with the size and physique of a twelve year old should wear pants. (Apologies if he is in fact, 12 or under. You'll hit puberty one day, Spankers) Velocity Tapings (Insert cheap sparkler pyrotechnics here) (1) Crash Holly defeated Shannon Moore. The end came when Crash reversed a head scissors into a flapjack for the pin. (2) Rikishi defeated Mike Fuchs. Squash, squash, squash. Fuchs offense consisted of one punch. Seriously, one punch. Stink face, thrust kick, Rump shaker, the end. (3) John Cena (with B-squared) defeated "Unknown Jobber 3." John Cena won with his finisher, some sort of modified rollover power slam. B-squared (how the hell am I supposed to type that?) didn't interfere at all. (4) Matt Hardy V.1 defeated Chuck Palumbo. Matt won cleanly with the Twist of Fate. Good match, and impressive to see a heel win a match cleanly. (Seems to be a trend tonight though.) Interesting Note One: Michael Cole got up and went to the back after the second Velocity match. Mark Lloyd sat there by himself for the rest of the taping. I guess Cole just dubs in his lines later? (I heard something about him having to drop some kids off at the pool, but that's just speculation at this point.) He comes back out with Tazz before the start of Smackdown, wearing a different shirt. As if anyone would notice (or give a crap even) that Michael Cole had on the same shirt for Velocity and Smackdown. Smackdown (insert better pyro here) First, they announce a Fatal Four Way for the number one contender's spot between Edge, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, and Kurt Angle. (1) Albert defeated Rey Mysterio. Albert won after reversing the West Coast Pop into an over-the-shoulder backbreaker. After the match he pounded Mysterio against a turnbuckle, then hit him with his bicycle kick. He then procured himself a steel chair, and gave Mysterio several shots to the knee as he was draped over the turnbuckle and top rope. Edge ran out for the save, but Albert turned tail and ran. Rey was helped out with help from the refs and Edge. After a break, (Why the hell do they take five minute breaks between segments during a taped show? It's not like the commercials are inserted right then, or are they? Hmmm...) we see Rey get carted out so he can go get his knee scoped. Edge vows revenge against Albert. Stephanie then comes out on the stage to apologize for suspending Brock, and then says he will be here tonight via satellite to talk about his suspension. (2) Crash Holly defeated Jamie Noble. Crash won with his cradle piledriver facebuster finisher, which is incredibly complicated and can't be explained by my poor choice of words. Apparently, Crash turned face in this match even though he played the heel 20 minutes earlier against Shannon Moore. Now for more backstage stuff, probably not in the correct order. First, Funaki tries to interview the returning Bill DeMott, but gets yelled out and pie faced by the angry Bill. Second, Chris Benoit does an interview promo discussing his desire to be WWE champion, and the 17 hard years he has worked to get here. A really good promo, by the way, talking about the many sacrifices Benoit has made for his dream. Third, in the best backstage Smackdown segment ever, Dawn Marie makes a pass at Torrie, telling her that Al isn't the only Wilson she is interested in. She then tells Torrie she won't go through with the marriage to Al, if Torrie will do something for her. She then slips her hotel room key out of her bra, and slides it into Torrie's bra. I shit you not. (3) Bill DeMott defeated Funaki. Another squash match, ending when Bill hit the No Laughing Matter moonsault on the number one smackdown announcer. Bill cut an anti-Texas promo on the screen before he came out, and managed to get quite a bit of heat. Backstage once more, Los Guerreros are discussing what an opportunity it is for them tonight to become the number one contender and the cruiserweight champion all in one night. After this, and a short break, Brock comes on the big screen "via satellite" to tell us his problems. Before he can get too far into it, out come the Big Show and Heyman. They stand in the ring, with Heyman taunting Brock about his title loss and suspension. Brock then says he thinks it will be a great title match at Armageddon no matter who wins the four way tonight, and he will be there to see it in person. Interesting Note Two: I went to buy a shirt during this Big Show/Heyman ordeal, and all I wanted was a Matt Hardy V1 shirt in a large. Of course, they were all out of large, and only had extra large. I walked around to the other side of the arena, and it was the same thing. The guy behind the counter stated that they always run out of larges, like it was some big conspiracy or something. Dumbasses, why don't you carry more of the more popular size shirt? I am an average size person, so the large is the average size I am guessing. An intelligent store would carry more of the average, more common sizes, instead of having equal numbers of the XXL shirts that only Fatty 2 Fatty and his bigger brother can wear. Funny thing is, when I got back to my seat, Heyman was still talking. (4) Billy Kidman defeated Chavo Guerrero to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Great match, with Kidman missing the Shooting Star Press the first time, but managing to get his foot on the ropes after Chavo hits his finisher on him. Several reversals and a ringside bump later; Billy hits an overhead neckbreaker from the apron, then lands the Shooting Star Press for the win. Backstage, Edge does a quick interview about his desire to be the WWE champion. (It's funny that all these wrestlers feel the need to tell everyone about their desire to be the champ. Hell, I desire to be the champ too. It would be cool. It's not that novel of a concept to want to be the best there is at what you do.) Edge then decides to jump Albert as he passes by, but it is broken up quickly by the refs. (Speaking of Albert, has anyone else wanted to run up behind the guy with a roll of tape, ala Spongebob Squarepants, and wreak some havoc? I sure do.) Before the main event, we were treated to a Hip Hop Showdown, hosted by Tazz. John Cena and B(how the hell do I make a squared symbol) Buchanan came out, with Cena in full 1980's hip hopper attire. Rikishi came out in his Phatwear, and the two commenced to rapping. Cena's wasn't bad, but Rikishi could really only manage two lines that rhymed. He made B? mad though, so they attacked him. Cena pushed Tazz as he tried to break it up, leading to a Tazzmission on Cena. Rikishi then cleared the ring, and Tazz and he danced. It was funny stuff for the live crowd, but who knows how bad it will seem on TV. (5) Fatal Four-way match to determine the number contender to the WWE Title. This was announced as a fatal four-way, but it was actually an four-way elimination match. Before the match started, Edge was attacked by Albert (who the hell's idea is it to push him?) with a steel chair. He was carted to the back as the other wrestlers entered. He then came back after the unnecessary break (commercials, anyone?) limping like a pimp. Benoit and Angle started off by double teaming Edge as Eddie watched. Eddie then jumped them both from behind. Chaos ensued, as this match was probably the best match I have ever seen live. Angle kicked out of Eddie's Frog Splash, Eddie kicked out of Benoit's Swandive headbutt, and Benoit kicked out of Edge's spear. Eddie finally tapped to the Crippler Crossface, eliminating him. He snuck back in with a belt, hitting Benoit from Benoit with it. Edge then hit the Edgecution on Benoit to eliminate him. This is where the match got even better. Edge and Angle went at least another 20 minutes, so expect probably two commercial breaks in this one on Thursday. There were so many believable near falls in this match that it was crazy. Everyone assumed Edge would win, but Angle kicked out of the Spear, the Edgecution, a missile drop kick, and the Edgeomatic. Edge, to his credit, got out of the ankle lock three times, and kicked out of the Angle Slam. In the end though, Edge went to the top one too many times, and Angle caught him up there with an Angle Slam from the top rope. Three count finally, and we have an awesome number one contender. The crowd popped huge for his win, even though they were very pro-Edge throughout the match. Following the match, the Big Show appeared and chokeslammed the exhausted Angle. He then taunted him with his title, and stood over him as we exited the building. Interesting Note Three: This was a great show, lasting well over three hours. The arena was probably about 80 percent full, and the crowd was very loud, as Texas crowds always are. And, my spell check keeps wanting to change Heyman into hymen. Maybe B.J. Bethel could use that as his excuse? Credit: 411Wrestling.com
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted December 4, 2002 We all know that Ross is responsible for this Albert push. And he'll hear about all the bitching and respond in the Ross report: "Sources on the internet, or whatever they call themselves, report that i am responsible for this push of the best wrestler in the promotion. Please I don't hold that kinda "sway". Albert made it on his own for being extremely talented. I don't know what these "reporters" are going to come up with next!" I hate it when he makes those fucking smarmy comments. And usually he's trying to devalue a credible rumor that he knows is true but they don't want anybody to know about! ARGH! I hate that fat bitch!
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted December 4, 2002 It's a shame that JR won't be commentating on Albert's return, I could just imagine him in full "STONECOLD!STONECOLD!STONECOLD!" mode for the big hairy freak. "ALBERT!BYGAWD!ALBERT!"
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Smackdown has a 30 minute plus main event that looks awesome and gives us Kurt Angle in the main event of the PPV and a possible title reign to lead into Brock / Angle at wrestlemania. Also, the Dawn / Torrie stuff gives us the Al storyline WITHOUT AL! YAH! I agree though, the Albert push is inane. All in all, with this and the Chavo/Kidman match it sounds like a fun show to me. niko

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted December 4, 2002 A few more thoughts: -Benoit's jobbed three times to Edge in little over a month. Should I start bitching like Anglesault? (Hypothetical question, I won't either way) -Seemed Angle beat Edge squeaky clean. So maybe AS and Agnes stay quiet for a little while. -Who was it that had a friend who liked Rey but not anymore since he loses all the time? Rey's been little more than a jobber recently, and it wasn't too long ago when he was undefeated. Plus, it's FUCKING ALBERT who put him on the shelf. They pass over Los Guerreros, Matt Hardy, Cena and B2, and decide to go for Albert. JR probably couldn't sleep last night, he was likely too giddy. I'm going to keep track of how long this push will last.
