Jack the Ripper's disturbed pt.1

Tension in the Cow Palace builds up as the hours until SJL Wrath fly by. SJL employees set up the ring as stadium employees comb the seats in a last minute effort to prepare for the audience. The camera switches to the interview area backstage where Ben Hardy and Jack the Ripper sit.

 

“I’m sitting here with the returning Jack the Ripper, if it even constitutes a return,” says Ben Hardy staring into the camera. “What made you return to the JL after such a short break?”

 

The Ripper pauses and tugs slightly at his black trench coat.

 

“Well the SJL has Spies with championship belts, and for God sakes they’re hiring Irish females to wrestle,” Jack pauses with what appears to be shock listening back at his own words. “Let’s face it Ben, this federation has gone to hell. I want to be here to watch the JL squirm as it lays on the ground, twitching and looking up at me with pain in it’s eyes.”

 

Ben Hardy becomes uncomfortable with Jack at 13.5 seconds into the interview, a new record for the duo’s relationship.

 

“Ok, don’t get too upset…” adds Ben Hardy.

 

“Who said I’m upset?” asks Jack the Ripper. “I happen to be very relaxed. I just bought a few Faces of Death videos.”

 

Ben Hardy quickly changes the subject to avoid the Ripper from going in depth on whatever sick idea Jack had on his mind.

 

“What do you think of Johnny Dangerous winning the title?” asks Ben Hardy.

 

“That peeping tom, spy, whatever you want to call him, he’s a sick individual.” Replies Jack. “He probably had his secret agent friend, Ms. Muffin help him there.”

 

“I understand that you were at the Fisherman’s Wharf earlier today. The site of your street fight.” Comments Ben Hardy. “What were you doing there?”

 

Jack ponders for a moment before replying.

 

“I was just checking for ‘hazardous’ areas. God forbid someone would be seriously injured in a wrestling match.” Jack holds back a smiling. “I was scouting out the area like any intelligent person would.”

 

Ben Hardy changes the subject once again.

 

“One last question, what kind of goals do you have in the SJL?” asks Ben Hardy. "Why'd you return if you hate everything so much?"

 

Jack the Ripper looks down at the ground for a moment before answering.

 

“I want to cause great pain to my enemies and I want to win the European title. After all, I’m the only European in this federation worthy of it.” The camera fades to black as the Ripper glances over at Ben Hardy with an evil look on his face.

I like it. Nice little bit of build for an otherwise thrown-together match.

Jack, a nice bit of promoing and much like Ejiro I'm glad to see people still write promo's that include Hardy. Character development is always great to have but this is a easy way to get a direct point across. Nice job.

You know, Jack is good for about one great line per promo and this is it! Sweet use of Jack as a sick bastard who doesn't think he's sick. Not to mention he thinks everyone else is beneath him at the same time so CHACHING to you sir.

 

 

 

I'm thinking I'll have a different interviewer next time... maybe Mr. T.
