I'm putting Hart/Bulldog vs. Michaels/Austin over it right now because of it being a better ending, but I could change my mind. Guest godthedog Report post Posted December 7, 2002 i am NOT a fan of that match. i've seen it several times, and i still can't get into it. i don't see any flow in that match at all, it looks like they're just doing a bunch of random unconnected stuff. i'd honestly love to read a good argument for this match's greatness, cause i'd like to think i'm just missing something and i don't have to be disappointed in 2 of my favorite teams. The Harts are like: "We are here to wear you down physically so that you can't handle the sharpshooter. We are gonna absolutely tear you apart and then grind you down." The Steiners counter with: "We just came back from Japan. We have these moves NOBODY has seen, and we are prepared to make you two our test dummies. It's on!" Guys, the match went half-an-hour, and it was a TOTAL one-up-man-ship match. It got started when Owen tried the leapfrog...but you can't leapfrog Rick Steiner. Scott and Rick made Owen their little bitch. In US 1993, Scott busted a RELEASED DRAGON SUPLEX, and then busted a SQUARE DRIVER. It was amazing at the time. Looking back, I'm seeing that match as something that could have been the start to an amazing feud, but the Harts were about to break up and the Steiners were going to feud with The Quebecers, so it wasn't meant to be. But for that match, it was those four saying I can do this better than you. We're better technically, we're smarter, and we can wear you down. The Steiner's had the power advantage, but dammit, those Harts kept up with them. I think it is truly a sad thing to see that only a select few of us fans have that match. Everyone should watch that match. It simply blows the mind, in my opinion. Amazingly gifted athletes, in their primes, whoopin' ass. That is what wrestling is all about to me.
