Guest HVilleThugg Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Dammit...good show. I haven't read the whole thing, but I know suddenly I want to fight Frost. Really...I want to beat down that frozen chump...don't ask me why. Oh, well...in time my dear man...in time. Rest of the show... Well, haven't read in depth, but good matches from Francis who held off Thothrochi, which is impressive in its own right. Bayawolf picks up right where he left off...that's solid. Sigil and Mental really getting into a nice feud...and I know who Sigil is now...which makes me the last to know. Damn I'm stupid... What I'm really excited about is teh talent we have here right now...I mean, deKindes and Z open the show?? That's when you know you have a talent-heavy roster when people of that caliber are forced to open the show...and in my mind, opening the show ain't so bad anymore. Good work fellas...and lady...and if I didn't mention you...well, that's because I'm too lazy. Da "first comments thread posted ever" H
Guest Ace309 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Well, I was impressed. Mak wrote a fine promo that, in addition to accomplishing his own objectives, portrayed Tom exactly the way he SHOULD be a week after losing the ICTV Title. He then followed it up with a finish that, while indeed divinely inspired, was written in very, very well. Great joint match out of Zed deKindez. Frost ended up writing most of the Tag Team Title match, due to me having two finals on Thursday. Needless to say, he did an excellent job, but we all knew he would anyway. Unfortunately, that's all I've read at this point. I'll get to the other stuff.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Boom chaka laka! Opening promo madness! New intensity for ELM! Great story for Thugg's return! I am all, all, all over that. Even better though, perhaps, was Mak's conversation with Tom that led into a brilliant pinning combination to counter Orochi's dominance. Oh, how I enjoyed the hell out of that. The whole Annie/Judge Mental/Sigil business looks mad interesting, as Annie adjusts to being a Carnie...I just wonder why *our* boys didn't go running out to save her too. Not a good night for Carnies, but a fine night for Flesher and Frost, who continue to show why they're thiiiiiiiis close to the world title. Interesting moment in Ash's switch to "Michael Craven," though I'm not really sure of the point. I'd love to see Ash go on a mad rampage to try and catch Thugg so he can get that world title shot, but I don't really see it happening. Getting beaten within an inch of your life can definitely inspire a character change, but I'm wondering what exactly'll come out of this. Craven seems to be riding the border between face and heel, and I'm interested to see where it goes. Even more intriguing is Sacred's strange, silent, and more sadistic return beneath the mask of Bayawolf. He's always been a dude with major, major head problems, and now that seems to have translated itself to something physical, or at least the perception of something physical. He should be right on his way back up towards the world title, but I'm dying for a trademark deep-n-profound Sacred promo to really let us into that poor fucked-up head. I'm also dying for someone to be more humorous and light. Between Orochi, Craven, Sigil, Bayawolf, and Zenon, we've got a lot of recent characters and change-ups that just ooze DARK and DEATH and DOOM. It's a sad state for comedy when your funniest guys are Flesher and Frost, the two top heels. Heh. Okay, maybe not. But let's see a little mirth injection here and there, mmkay? All in all, an astounding show, great way to come off a great PPV. Kudos to all involved.
Guest Kibagami Report post Posted December 7, 2002 I'm still tired and I have to work today, but it looks like a great show. Nice match from Mak, Sigil trying to tear people's ears off and things, ZedeKindes writes a cool jointer to open the show, and I... ::looks at Smarkdown card:: ...am....fucked. Ow. K. Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Meh... only read Annie vs. Sigil, and the tag match, so far. Sigil [or was it Annie's match? or a joint?] did a great job of fucking up Annie, while still getting her over a bit... and, yeah... I'm a bit confused about the Judge save, but ah well. The tag match meanwhile was [in the immortal words of Tony the Tiger] GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT! Frost is an awesome tag-team writer, and though I MUST admit that I was rooting for CIA and ELM... it still was a great match overall.
Guest Powerplay Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Good show. *Sigh* My performance here was reprehensible. I've been packed this week with enough stuff that I can barely sleep, but nonetheless I really was disappointed in what happened. To Sigil and Silent, I am really sorry. I'll give you my comments after I get a good reading of the whole show.
Guest Serrated Report post Posted December 7, 2002 No problem, Judge. Wasn't just you anyway. I can only assume that Annie was somehow unable to write this week, because my match was crap. I'm almost embarrassed it saw print. But I did what everyone said... finally went out and won one. To answer someone's questions, my match was not a joint, it was a genuine Sigil match. The Sigil promo, however, was jointly written with Judge. Thugg, I think it's interesting that so many people think they know who I am. Damn, I'm so out of the loop here, I don't even know who I am. Oh, and I mark for Mak Francis and his win over Orochi. Good stuff there. I have now commented on the show. This concludes our broadcast day.
Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted December 7, 2002 yes, alas I was a no show due to massive work related shite, but with only 24 hours scheduled this week to compensate, don't expect any more from me. In fact I'll start writing when SOMEONE UPDATES THEIR STATS *cough* -Annie p.s. more commentaroos when I finish the show, but more thanks to Sigil for not squashing me, albeit in an odd odd style. I can't get used to your character man.
Guest Ash Ketchum Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Ummm... I took care of that.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Lamentably i had to no-show my match, which certainly wasn't the way i wanted to return, but it was unavoidable. Barring any more surprises there'll be no more no-showing from me from now on. (though the last time i said that i no-showed the next match i was in, but hopefully i won't do that this time) Bayawolf's match was very nice though, and i probably would have lost anyway. I also particularly liked Zenon/deKindes, about as good an opener as you'll find. The dropping of the Ash gimmick i feel should be a positive move for Mr. Craven, there are a number of ways he can go with this and i'm certainly interested to see how things turn out. I'm only about halfway through the main event (once i finish it it'll mark the first time i've read an entire show in a hell of a long time), and it's looking to be the usual greatness i've come to expect of Frost and Flesher. It'll certainly take something special to de-throne the tag champs.
