I actually do own Friday and thought his performance in that was great but besides that movie the man has annoyed me in every other role.

Carrot Top, is at the bottom of the gimmick prop comedy style, below The Amazing Jonathon and Galliger

White comedians on BET, they are doing Chris Rock jokes! "white people is like this....yall be like diss"

Aeres Spears from Mad Tv and the current cast sans Will Sassel

I don't judge people's comedic abilities based on their movie performances unless they wrote it themselves. As such, I don't think Chris Tucker is very funny.

Jimmy Fallon is Adam Sandler v. 2.0, and is only kept around to get the "swooning Emo girls" demographic, because he isn't funny at all.

Gallagher is actually pretty funny when he isn't doing the fruit smashing. I have yet to figure out why that ever took off. Believe it or not, Carrot Top is actually very crass and vulgar in his live shows.

Bah, any comedian on BET is a good one. Especially the dude who said how Snoop Dogg had one of those faces that tells you everything's going to be just fine.

Whoever said Bill Maher...**kicks you in the nuts**

I forget the guy's name, but he had a One Night Stand special on HBO in, like, the 80's, and it was AWFUL. Not a single good joke, he looked like he had trouble seeing ANYTHING (squinted the entire night), and HBO didn't even have the niceness to pump in canned laughter (the audience didn't make a sound).

I've always found Ben Stiller funny, but i can see why some wouldn't. He's like a British comedian where he doesn't really do "haha" humor with obvious jokes that tell the viewer when they should laugh.

I was going to say Bob Saget, but I've heard that he was actually a good stand up comedian.

I hate Dave Coulier

Are we talking comedic actors or stand ups here?

Margaret Cho is the most unfunny person on Earth to me. Especially sense the last time I saw her on t.v. she basically just listed pop culture references to get cheap pops.

I've seen Gallagher twice live and his non-prop stuff is very hilarious and insightful.

As a juxtaposition to the topic of this thread, I must say that Eddie Izzard is among the greatest comedians...EVER...

He did direct the movie Dirty Work and said a line that you would never expect him to say in Half Baked.

best:

George Carlin

Bill Cosby

Eddie Izzard

honourable mention to Steven Wright

worst:

this chick on Comedy Central Presents. I forget her name, but I remember her saying stuff about George Forman being old and still boxing and peeing when he gets hit in the gut. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

I haven't seen Carrot Top's stand-up, but he's annoying as all shit in the stuff I've seen him in

Pauly Shore sucks ass.

I don't know the guy's name but he has hair like Larry from the Three Stooges and talks like he's falling asleep.

I don't know why but he annoys the crap out of me and I don't find him funny at all.

Ben Stiller show was great, and he wrote that.

Comedians I like:

Carlin and Pryor and Rock are the top eschelon IMO.

Others: Steven Wright, Dane Cook, Robert Schimmel. Janene Garrafello was pretty good too. I like Seinfeld a lot. The woman from Grace under fire was funny too.

Margaret Cho is awful. Sandra Bernhardt is often too out there for me, but she is at least is unique. Gallagher's crap. Ellen DeGeneres was an awful standup. Foxworthy can elicit a chuckle, but is completely one note and gets ld fast. Tim Allen was just awful.

That would be Steven Wright...

...and his jokes are said so calmly that you might not get them, or even hear them, but the fucker is funny.

Eddie Murphy was funny during his SNL days.

Rodney Dangerfield was good.

No offense. But women comedians aren't that funny.

It's kind of like what Jerry Seinfeld once said about women comedians, "It's like how all women know how to cook, but the best chef's are men." A little sexist perharps, but I think he means that women are generally funnier than men on the whole, but men traditionally have been more adapt at harnessing their humor on a grander scale.

everybody I know personally knows my hatred for Paul Reiser.

I like how Steven Wright doesn't tell funny stories or political things like other comedians, just random thoughts.

The Best Comedians, by far are:

George Carlin (far and away the funniest and most entertaining comedian ever!

Bill Hicks (like a George Carlin who is capable, though rarely, of coming off as misinformed and/or pretentious)

Eddie Izzard (Dressed To Kill is the second best comedy show ever, next to Carlin's "Jammin in New York")

Other good ones:

Steven Wright, MITCH HEDBURG, The Amazing Johnathan, Stephen Lynch

There are so many bad comedians that it hurts. Just check out Friday Night Stand Up, at least half of everyone on it is horrid. One guy I WILL single out is Mario Cantone. *shudders*

I agree that it seems like most female comedians that I've seen are pretty bad. Cho is too dependant on pop culture, Sandra is too abstract (in a where-the-hell-is-she-going sorta way), Ellen and Rosie were just flat out bad.

Other comdians (I've seen on TV, never seen one live) who should be beaten with a 9 iron and thrown out a helicopter include the oft mentioned Carrot Top and Dave Coulier.

On the other hand, I love Wright, most Carlin, Dennis Miller, old school Murphy, Izzard and The Amazing Jonathan (I too love the Windex joke and the "magic powder" gag).
