Guest J*ingus Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I can't believe nobody has mentioned Andrew Dice Fucking Claw for worst comedian yet. The guy is awful, and offensive to boot. Most of his jokes aren't even technically jokes; they lack the standard setup-punchline structure, and usually contain the phrase "stupid bitch" in there somewhere. I've never found Chris Rock funny, his one-note "Hey look, I'm black!" crap gets old in a hurry. Adam Sandler has never gotten so much as a chuckle out of me either.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Chris Rock is more then that. He has a lot of great material that isn't about race. I always find Dice funny for some reason
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Ellen and Cho -- <blecch!) I hate Paul Rodriguez (sp?) too...
Guest cartman Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Best: Carlin(AKA God Of Standup) Dane Cook Robert Schimmel Eddie Izzard Chris Rock Bill Maher(Be More Cynnical was a GREAT performance) Worst: Cho Gallagher Carrot Top
Guest saturnmark4life Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 flame me to death, but pretty much ANY FEMALE COMEDIAN. I'm sorry, but the only ones that have ever made me laugh are French & Saunders, and the chick from third rock. but I'm sick of her now.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 flame me to death, but pretty much ANY FEMALE COMEDIAN. I'm sorry, but the only ones that have ever made me laugh are French & Saunders, and the chick from third rock. but I'm sick of her now. The only chick comedian that I ever found funny was Sara Silverman
Guest Karnage Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 What about Janine Garafollo(sp)?
Guest razazteca Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 TOMMY DAVIDSON has not done anything remotely funny sice In Living Color got cancelled. Why he is on a sports show on Fox Sports Net is very questionable. Tommy is nothing without Jamie Fox. Cho did have some sex jokes that were funny, especially the Raggy Anne working phone sex joke.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 What about Janine Garafollo(sp)? A big no... And since we're on unfunny In Living Color rejects...David Allen Grier has to be the unfunniest person alive
Guest Mole Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Sandra Bernhardt is often too out there for me, but she is at least is unique. I've only seen Sandra once, I think it is the same person, when she Roasted Jerry Stiller. She was the funniest person up there the whole night. Here's the best joke: Sandra: What I can't believe about you Anne(Jerry's wife) is that you had sex with Jerry, and gave birth to Ben. You are the only lady to have both Ben & Jerry inside of you at the same time. Or something like that. I remember this one guy who I saw on HBO. He was the funniest guy I have EVER seen in my life. I don't remember his name, but I remember it was on the same night that Holyfield/Lewis fight that went 12 rounds a few years ago. Can anyone help me out with who it is?
Guest Banky Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Down with: Fallon Wayans Akroyd Martin Short Up with: Chevy
Guest El Satanico Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I do know it's impossible to just say Wayans. There's no way to know who you speak of.
Guest razazteca Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Out of the SNL comedians list by Banky I must say the car guy is the least funniest of all. I have great hate for Al Frankan.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Maybe he hates all 600 members of the Wayans family. And of course there is Dan's brother Peter Ayckroyd in that family. I've been watching a lot of the old SNL's on E! and Dan's genius was really underrated. He consistently delivered even in subpar skits. He always had energy and could very subtely alter his performance for different roles. Like Hartman and Hammond he was such a utility player and really overlooked because of the flashier other cast members around him.
Guest Eagan469 Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Dan Akroyd is a strange guy. He does what he wants, which is mostly unfunny shit (Blues Brother 2000, the old ABC series "Soul Man", etc). But if he has the right material to work with, he can turn it into gold.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Aykroyd! It's Aykroyd!! Carry on...
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 bob, I was about to say that. Mainly because I'm a huge Ghostbusters mark, and it ticks me off to see these slugheads spell his name wrong...
Paul Stanley Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Whoever said Chris Tucker is not funny and annoying doesn't know comedy at all.
Guest ISportsFan Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I thought Dave Coulier saved Full House from being the worst TV show ever with the Joey character. Other than that, however, he isn't all that good as a comedian. Jason
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 TOMMY DAVIDSON has not done anything remotely funny sice In Living Color got cancelled. Guest ant_7000 Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Good: Chris Tucker (Check out the Def Jam series) Lawerence Redd Foxxx Not Funny: Carrot Top Seinfield Rock Davidson
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Sandra: What I can't believe about you Anne(Jerry's wife) is that you had sex with Jerry, and gave birth to Ben. You are the only lady to have both Ben & Jerry inside of you at the same time. Worst. Joke. EVER! I don't mean to dis all the great comedians, but one of the legends has yet to be mentioned, so he must be singled out. Denis Leary you fucks! Come on!
Guest bob_barron Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 Yea- Leary fucking rocks. That Sandra Bernhard joke aint too funny
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 It wasn't a Bernhardt joke anyway. It was another less well known comidienne. I'll add Kathy Griffen to this list. I fucking hate her. She isn't funny and has to use cheap pop culture references just to get a reaction.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 Yea- Leary fucking rocks. That Sandra Bernhard joke aint too funny Leary's 50/50 with me...sometimes he makes me laugh, but the rest of the time my reply is, "ok, you smoke, I get it!"...that's half of his act. And Sandra Bernwhatever is the furthest thing from funny...only person she's funnier then is David Allen Grier
Guest converge241 Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Collin Quinn Jay Mohr Carrot Top Paula Poundstone Ellen DeGeneres David Brenner
Guest Daredevil21 Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Bah, any comedian on BET is a good one. Especially the dude who said how Snoop Dogg had one of those faces that tells you everything's going to be just fine. Are you talking about the white guy who said that? I rarely watch BET, but a white guy on Premium Blend on CC did the same exact bit, and his face looked just like Snoop's when he did the impression. Too bad the rest of his set was just blah. No offense. But women comedians aren't that funny. I must agree with this for the most part. There are a few that have made him chuckle and there was one on a few years ago, whose main schtick was that she'd say something, and add on something else as her voice trailed off. She did it almost every other line, but she had some good stuff. I just find that a lot of women stand-ups tend to talk about the same basic thing like their periods and their bad relationships. Granted a lot of male comedians talk about sex and their bad relationships, but for whatever reason, it just never really clicks with the women. There are some exceptions, but most are just mediocre at best. I'm sure they're funny in real life, but most just don't seemed cut out for stand-up. I find that if a comedian can land their own special, then they usually bring some redeeming factors to the table. Even though some are average, most have the goods to back up their position. I find that the worst comedians tend to be on shows like Premium Blend where they get 5-7 sets, which is understandable, since most are somewhat new to the scene and are still developing their act, as well as their style. While I like him, Todd Barry's voice annoys the hell out of me and really hinders my enjoyment of his otherwise fine material. I've heard of deadpan, but jesus, his tone is just so low and mellow that it's annoying. Dane Cook did a couple of sets on shows like Premium Blend and he was just killer, but his Comedy Central Presents special was disapointing for me, as I expected a lot more. He had a couple of funny bits, but he just didn't execute too well on stuff that had potential to be hilarious. If you go back and check out stand-up from the 80s and early 90s, a lot of it seems like garbage simply because it's so dated. It's the same deal with Weekend Updates on SNL from the late 70s or 80s; it becomes dated and therefore, unfunny. As someone who enjoys more than your average dose of stand-up, I'm able to find at least a little good in just about everything, so that's about it as far as my dislikes go. There are a few more, but it's a matter of them not being so bad that I'd mention them.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 The female comedian was named Wendy Liberman and imo, she was pretty funny. I've seen two of her appearances (her own HBO Comedy Special and when she appeared in a HBO Women Comedian's Special) and I laughed every sentence. I tape every comedy show on T.V. The most shows I taped are the Comedy Central Presents shows. Most of the people on the show can give me a chuckle or two but that's it. There have been only 1 or 2 shows that were completely unfunny and forgettable and there have been shows where the comedians are just SO AWESOME!!! But the show where you find the un-funny comedians is on the old HBO One Night Stand and Comedy Half-Hour specials. I taped all of them, and honestly, only 7 or 8 have made me laugh.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Ah yes, that's her. Thanks for reminded me. As for Comedy Central Presents, there have been some good ones and some great ones, IMO. Guys like Louis Ramey, Jim Gaffigan, Stephen Lynch, Tom Papa are just a few of the ones who had excellent CCP spots. Lynch is just so creative with his songs that are totally politically incorrect, yet done with such grace and creativeness, that it comes off as just humorous. Gaffigan is just non-stop funny, as he basically describes my life for the last 15 minutes of the show, whether it be reading a book that changed your life, being lazy, and seeing movies years after they're put out.
