I'm back now and i gotta say that some of the stories I heard where funny. Someone sent me an email asking if I had been arrested for the gnomings, and some others thought I got shot at my job, etc.

Ever wonder how your online buddies would know if your dead or not?

That is the question I was pondering late one night. How would my online buddies ever know if I had passed away? Then, I came up with the ultimate solution! DiedOnline.com - a website that will automatically notify your buddies if you die.

 

How does it work?

You place special HTML code on your website, in your email signature, in your AIM sub-profile and pretty much wherever you can place HTML code. This will display a little image saying if you are dead or not.

 

You log into the member area within the time period you specify (your death check date). When you log in, the system knows you are alive. If you do not log into the system by the specified date, you will be labeled as dead

If I used DiedOnline, I would forget to log in after two days and everyone would think I died, so that wouldn't work so well for me.

 

As for whether or not anyone would notice I were gone, considering how sporadicly I post columns, that fact that I stop writing them altogether probably wouldn't mean much. I've already gone weeks at time without visiting this board and usually people say nothing...besides that once, but I think the person wasn't wondering where I was, but where the Ralph GIF was.

 

Funny story though, I started posting at the OSW forum for the first time in probably over a year and this guy remembered me. Same thing happened at WDI, so I guess I made an impact in some people's lives.
