The lesser of 3 evils........

Recommended Posts

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

Ok I was thinking. Paying attention to just things they do with themselves on TV(b/c if not vince would be the worst heartbeat.)which McMahon do you think is the lesser of 3 evils? Vince, Shane, or Stephanie. Let's take a look.

Shane: While he did bump like a madman this usually showed most wrestlers up. As he would kill himself, thus raising the bar, and then have a month off to heal up. He had the most annoying character who did that stupid strut to the ring. And he constantly, constantly put himself over wrestlers. Did anyone forget the invasion where he was making all the members of the Alliance cower before his might?

Stephanie: Screechy voice, hogs the TV constantly. I mean she seriously must love to hear herself talk and be on TV. Oh and she's guilty of the same thing as her brother and that's making wrestlers cower to her. She's always slapping wrestlers and making them do what she says by threatening them. Why listen to her? I mean in storyline terms "Oh you're going to fire me. That's fine I'm sure Eric will hire me!" So why do what she says? Like Brock just standing there taking her shit!

Vince: Ok Vince. Sure he is always the evil owner blah blah blah. But if I remember right he really doesn't put himself over wrestlers which is my biggest gripe with the other to. Sure he's on TV a lot and he feeds his sick old man fantasies but NO wrestler seems to do what he says. He'll tell them something and they usually tell him to fuck off and get up in his face. Thus making him to that thing where he swallows real big and gets wide eyed like he's scared.

I think the winner in this situation is Vince. If I HAVE to have a McMahon on my TV I'd like it to be Vince.

I like watching Vince and Shane. The only one I don't like is Stephanie.

Shane put himself over...who exactly? X-Pac? Test? Big Show? Blackman? Angle beat the living hell out of him, Test beat him, I think he may have beaten the others, but regardless, doesn't seem like a tragedy for the others, who few care about anyway.

Steph points--I agree completely.

And Vince even being able to hang with Ric in their match, when Ric's a wrestler and he isn't, even if they are about the same age, was really really stupid. Remember that Vince is a former WWF Champion. Remember that he used to have the 20 minute promos before HHH took over that position.

Out of the three, I'll gladly take Shane.

I don't mind Steph.

I love Shane. You know in a completely heterosexual, "Man he's awesome," kind of way. I mark the heck out anytime I hear, "HERE COMES THE MONAAAY~!" on WWE television these days.

Stephanie is the worst people can beat up Shane or Vince, but they never do anything to Stephanie, and she backs down wrestlers more then Shane or Vince it's pointless.

Shane puts might go over some wrestlers in matches but in the end whoever he is working with goes over in the end of the angle (I might be wrong on that though if anybody else remembers different be sure to correct me). Shane also hasn't been on tv week in and week out for around a year.

Vince is good in limited doses but tends to be on too much.

If we're talking short term I'm taking Vince, because he is probably the most over of the 3. Also he can be entertaining when you don't see him 5 segments every show for 6 months.

Long term I'm going with Shane. He can put on good matches and he doesn't seem to want to hog the tv time when he's there. Also, I say put Shane in charge, right now who cares if he wants to put the Raw title on Test. Big Show has the SD title and HBK has the Raw title they're both jokes now anyway.

The song in it's entirety I can do without. But it's a nice Shane-O-Mac entrance.

The lyrics make absolutely no sense whatsoever, and the music itself sucks. Give him no chance.

Shane: I would love to see Shane make a return sooner than later but I'm not sure that will happen. I have always enjoyed his on camera character as he plays a great heel.

Stephanie: I'm a Steph fan too. She has gotten her character down pat, and makes an excellant heel. I would much rather see her in a valet role behind a main event wrestler but her current character works well too.

Vince: How can you not love Vince? Everything about the man brings a smile to my face. His facial expressions, his voice, and his laugh are all hilarious. I would like to see Vince return and end the brand extension so he can run both shows but I doubt that will happen. I do hope he returns soon because he is always good to have on WWE TV IMO, and it doesn't seem the same without him.

I dislike Vince now because he is so overblown to the point of parody. It's like he watches tapes of himself and tries to top it by making his voice hoarser. I, mean, maybe he was always like this, but it's getting to me. Steph, well, I kinda feel the same way as what everyone has said so far, and I always did kinda like Shano.

It used to be amusing, but it just keeps getting worse and worse. I'd rather think he had some actual, ya know, plan as opposed to just shouting a lot. Understated evil rules.

"I'm Vince McMahon dammit"

Vince is fun to watch now and then, admit it. Even moreso as a commentator in the mid 90s when he was always mumbling to himself.

I can't stand Stephanie

Rather watch static then listen to Vinnie

I can live with Shane

In conclusion I'd rather not see any of the McMahons on TV.

Ugh, we all saw what happened when that went down earlier this year with Chris Jericho(temporary main-eventer of course, but he was still a main-eventer nonetheless even though it didn't seem like it with the way he curtain-jerked the TV shows and only main-evented the PPV's as Champion). Steph's TV character has also become very annoying(not in a good way either obviously) again and she's still one of the worst head writers in wrestling since Vince Russo.

Vince:  How can you not love Vince?  Everything about the man brings a smile to my face.  His facial expressions, his voice, and his laugh are all hilarious.

So I guess the business decisions he's made since 2001 and his TV-hogging ways have made you smile? Also, I guess when he let HHH fuck Jericho over earlier this year, that made you smile as well?

As far as his character goes, it got old in 1999 but he still forced himself down our throats and began to shove his family down our throats in the process later on.

I would like to see Vince return and end the brand extension so he can run both shows but I doubt that will happen.

I thought about having the brand extension end earlier but then realized it wouldn't be such a good idea yet because if it did end now, it would mean more HHH and Big Show TV time and HHH would be allowed to bury some of the Smackdown 6.

I do hope he returns soon because he is always good to have on WWE TV IMO, and it doesn't seem the same without him

I think we could all do without McMahons clogging up the TV screen again, especially Vince and Stephanie. It's too bad those two never listen.

By the way, get rid of the personal pic you've got, dreamer420, it almost makes me puke every time I look at it.

Steph needs to limit the times she appears on tv to Linda McMahon levels. She has oversaturated her stay awhile ago.

Vince hasn't been an effective character since Steph turned on him in late 1999. Vince needs to concentrate on turning business around, not hogging up more tv time.

While Shane would usually lose his match with whoever, he would scoop the heat by doing the dangerous bumps and stunts. Also, the public mark perception of Shane is he is the spoiled and privileged son of Vince who we don't want to see go over actual workers at the end of the day.

The McMahon family needs to step outside the box (the tv box) and concentrate on their product because none of them are going to be the on screen saviors of the product, let the wrestlers do that.

Bottom Line: take a que from Linda McMahon, less is more.

I can live without ANY McMahon. I won't jump on the Shane bandwagon, and here's why:

Recall just before the disasterous Booker/Buff match, Shane was escorted out of the building by Regal, and he said it WCW was "about the wrestlers, and not him".

Three months later he was wrestling for the WCW title on PPV, and a week after that, for the WWF title on RAW.

Whether it was due to him or not, he made himself look to be a hypocrite, in true McMahon fashion.

I'd gladly take Shane as well, but as for putting himself over, there was one thing that really bothered me in his KOTR match with Angle. The DVDVR guys even pointed out in their write up of the match that there were several instances where he actually outwrestled Angle...which is just unacceptable for a guy who's a part time wrestler. That match really put Shane over as being able to take a hell of a lot of punishment....and for what? The guy wrestled one match since. I'm not saying that the match didn't do wonders for Angle, but it did a hell of a lot more for Shane McMahon when someone else really could have used that spot.

I'll agree with that, which is why I'm not going to say Shane always was portrayed just as he should have. However, his offenses are minor compared to daddy and sissy.

And I really don't get why they couldn't have a WCW wrestler take that spot in the match with Angle, instead of Shane--but at this point it doesn't matter anyway.

Steph is hot. I choose her.

Well you can always put the tv on mute and just stare, right?

I like Shane the best- I never really noticed him outwrestling Angle- it seemed like Angle just beat the fuck out of him so Shane had to take the match out of Angle's element to try to win.

I love Hear Comes the Money and I would mark the fuck out if I heard that song again

I just love Shane. His character entertains the snot out of me. And he's cute, too.

I am thoroughly sick of Stephanie. I wish she'd take a cue from her mother and brother and take a year off from tv. But I think her ego, much like her father's, needs to be stroked constantly.

Vince is fine in small doses.

Fuck Shane, Fuck him for trying to entertain the fans. Him and his wild bumps, it entertained me but I could not bring myself to like it because it scooped his opponants heat. How dare he do that?

You are all ridiculous. The guy doesn't go in their with pre-conceived notions of trying to out-wrestle Angle or X-Pac, rather his main faocus is to make the match entertaining. And he has done it every single time. Maybe some of you should re-evaluate why you watch wrestling, and save the backstage drama for your motherfuckin' mama. You will NEVER hear anyone breathe a bad word about him anyway, so why are any of you complaining about him being a McMahon? Give me a break. Sometimes I wonder if you some of truly DO take all of this far too seriously.

To answer the question, I'd gladly take Shane to entertain in front of the camera and take charge behind it as well.

Shane out-wrestled Angle because Angle wouldn't call the spots, and wasn't taking command of that match.

"So I guess the business decisions he's made since 2001 and his TV-hogging ways have made you smile? Also, I guess when he let HHH fuck Jericho over earlier this year, that made you smile as well?"

I said onscreen characters not business decisions. Otherwise Vince would be the worst.

Anyways. Does nobody remember that promo from the end of the Invasion? When Shane had all the Alliance wrestlers in the ring and was bitching them all out and they stood there and took his shit? That's what I'm talking about. He would always sit there and make wrestlers cow down to him. Just like Steph.

I haven't really seen anyone cow to Vince. He attempts to make them do it and they beat the hell out of him. So......

Plus why was there a reason for Shane to be in the Survivor Series match? There was no reason. Vince even took himself out once he realized he had no business in it. Why was Shane in there? So he could get beat up? Whatever.......they could've let any actual wrestler take that spot.

I just can't stand Shane and the way he goes over wrestlers.

And Banky. Yeah I watch to be entertained. But when I see some spoiled rich kid doing shitty spots and raising a crowds expectations to the point that nobody else can deliver and then he can go home and rest for a month I do not get entertained. I get pissed.

They took Shane what said to them cause they didn't wanted to end in the WWF and believed he was the one who would guide them to it.

They put Shane in there cause they really had no one else to use. Who do you think should've replaced Shane.

What wrestlers has Shane "gone over?" He's beaten Big Show twice needed 6 people to do it

After a Shane match do you say "oh boy, that Steve Blackman sure did have a great match. " or do you say "Holy Shit, did you see that Shane-o-Mac bump"?

It's been said before, but...

Shane is, by far, the smartest Mchmahon, because he's staying as far away from the product as possible right now. I can't think of a better possition to be in than "Head of WWE World Marketing" or whatever the hell it is he's "in charge" of.
