Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Nowhere Man, I think it was one of the first shows on UPN and was great until the fuckers cancelled it. If you like John Doe on FOX you would have also liked Nowhere Man.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 12, 2002 What about the UPN sitcom about slaves. I don't know about brilliant, but it was an odd idea.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted December 12, 2002 The tick cartoon was one of the greatest things ever, and should still be on today. I only liked the Norm show cos it was lame, but he once said 'You dirty son of a bastard%' and i still say that to this day.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Just noticed that the Brilliant but Cancelled stuff is also going to show that TV Funhouse puppet thing. It's not even listed on their site but it's suppose to be on tonight. I don't know if they're showing it again or not though.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Ugh, I wonder if there'll be any backlash over this one. 2-3-4 Sifl - and - Olly! Sifl and Olly Show! Everybody! Sifl - and - Olly! Sifl and Olly Show! ROCK!! Sifl - and - Olly! Sifl and Olly Show!!!! I'd go thru the whole song, but one or two of you might still have my address from my tape trading days. And I'd very much like to remain among the living. That being said, stuffed socks will ALWAYS have a place on television.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted December 13, 2002 Speaking of great shows, TV's Funhouse was fantastic. I wish they'd pony up some new episodes.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted December 13, 2002 Murder One wins this easily. The first season was probably the best single season of any drama show ever. It also had the best cast ever assembled for a dramatic series. The second season, which most saw as a lame duck, was not quite as good but still better than 99% of the stuff on TV. A&E has the rights to this and re-run it a couple of times a year, they should run it permanently now that L&O is gone.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted December 13, 2002 Kolchak: The Night Stalker Night Gallery Max Headroom Star Trek (Bet someone at NBC got fired over this...) Mystery Science Theater 3000 M.A.N.T.I.S
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted December 13, 2002 The guy that canceled Star Trek probably got a raise, and then fired five years later. The network was never big on the series to start with and they purposefully gave it a lousy timeslot in the third season to kill it off, not that ratings were ever that great. But somehow, it made it's way into syndication and took off from there. There are tons of shows that fought its way onto the air and then got killed, because some executive somewhere just didn't like it. The Job is a recent example. Max Headroom is currently shown on tech t.v. and Kolchak occasionally finds its way onto the Sci-fi channel.

Guest Karnage Report post Posted December 14, 2002 There was this sketch comedy show on The Comedy Network/The WB a few years ago called "Hype" and well...it was better than MadTV and present day SNL.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 14, 2002 When did Trio turn into a channel worth watching? I found reruns of the show "Action" tonight. I liked that show when it was on Fox for a short time.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 14, 2002 When did Trio turn into a channel worth watching? I found reruns of the show "Action" tonight. I liked that show when it was on Fox for a short time. My question is when did Trio even become a network. I never heard of it until now. The marthon of all 13 Action episodes is tomorrow night. Kolchak plays all next week I believe.
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted December 14, 2002 The Critic (did this get cancelled or what happend) Family Guy MTV's Odysee (sp?, remember this, with mature cartoons like the MAX or something.. I loved this)
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted December 14, 2002 The Critic lasted 1 1/2 seasons I believe. They lasted a full season on ABC before getting canceled by them and then Fox picked up and then dropped it after a half a season. Then the internet site shockwave.com picked up the show about a year and a half maybe two years ago and made about 10 mini episodes of the show that featured Jay and his new assistant(Can't remember her name) but none of the other original characters. Guest red_file Report post Posted December 14, 2002 My favorite part of Action was at the end of the first episode where Jay Mohr's character is interviewing this guy for a position at his production company and he says something like, "You're highly qualified, you have experience, and anyone would be a fool not to hire you, but I think I'm gonna go with this whore," as Ilana Douglas's character walks into the room. I really wish that show hadn't been cancelled.

Guest Gathering Moss Report post Posted December 15, 2002 The Critic (did this get cancelled or what happend) Family Guy MTV's Odysee (sp?, remember this, with mature cartoons like the MAX or something.. I loved this) I’m pretty sure that you're talking about MTV's Oddities. It presented shows like "The Maxx" and "The Head" about some guy with a freakishly large head and the alien that lived inside it. Oh the zany adventures those two guys shared together! Sigh. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Was Aeon Flux......or something like that also part of Mtv Oddities? I marked out when someone mentioned "Get a Life" I loved that show.
Guest red_file Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Was Aeon Flux......or something like that also part of Mtv Oddities? IIRC, Aeon Flux started as a series of shorts on Liquid Television, and then was later expanded into a short-lived series. I'm pretty sure The Head and The Maxx were the only shows under the Oddities banner.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Look on the Bright Side. At least the shows your talking about never jumped the dreaded shark which would of happened if they would of stayed on the air. Dana Carvey Police Squad
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Look on the Bright Side. At least the shows your talking about never jumped the dreaded shark which would of happened if they would of stayed on the air. The beloved Critic sorta jumped the shark during it's shockwave.com period. It was still funny but not as funny as the 1 1/2 seasons it had on TV and most of the time they spent was making fun of ABC, Fox and Comedy Central.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted December 15, 2002 How about 'The Prisoner'? The problem with that show is that you need to see every episode to get it. So there was no way to build up a niche.
