Hulk Hogan signed autographs at Meijers in Auroa, Illinois. 600 people turned out for the appearance. At the appearance, Hogan said he wanted to return to WWE as soon as possible. He also said that Steve Austin left WWE because he was scared of him.

It was total kayfabe. He said the same crap when I listened to him and Jimmy Hart on Mancow this morning. I wish I had the chance to hear what he said about Piper. When I got back in my truck, Hogan was gone, and Cow said Hogan shot hard on Roddy.

Hogan almost ALWAYS speaks kayfabing, period. I have seen very few interviews or comments by him on a TV shot, apperance, etc... where he did anything other than just that. I sorta like that though, as it reminds me of "back in the day", when almost everyone spoke like that just to keep the illusion of Pro. Wrestling being real. As to the ammount that showed up...

 

...where was Hogan, where was Austin, etc... You have to take those things into account you know. I wish both of them would come back, AND have a match at Wrestlemania. I know I'd love to see it, and I know there are millions who would enjoy seeing it also.

I would have liked to have seen a Hogan/Austin WrestleMania match as well.

 

However...I would have liked to have seen Old School Hogan...when he didn't need the knee brace.

 

Oh, and the One Braced Austin as well.

Sure, we all would rather see that version, that goes without question. But Austin can still "go", as he really put out some great matches when he was in WWE last, and Hogan can still make anyone feel nostalgic. It wont be the greatest match in the world, but it will be what it is meant to be, simply a "dream match", a huge pop, and just another classic WM moment, just like last year with Rock/Hogan.

 

I'm willing to bet that even if they signed the match, and you all bitched about it, that the moment the shit hit the fan and the match was on, Austin Vs. Hogan, MANY of you would instantly go back to being marks, and instantly accept the match for what it is, just like MANY of you did for Rock/Hogan.

I'm in touch with the mark inside of me enough to be able to say it loud and proud, that I LOVE Hulk Hogan, period. I'll cheer for him always, and there is no question about that. I may not agree with things we hear that went on in the past, but when push comes to shove, when his music (any version) blares through the speakers, and he comes trotting out doing his entire schitk, I will ALWAYS mark out for him, there just isn't anything I can do about that.

i have to admit (and i did a thread about it) that i really miss hogan as well. Never thought i'd say that. Putting people over, marking out, so slow it was funny, and he was a draw. An out of the main event draw as well.

Yeah, I don't see why anyone can complain really, as all he ever did was loose, to just about everyone he faced. He was no threat to anyone anymore, and was simply serving as a side dish for all of us Hogan marks.

Hogan won the world strap. Had he just been "an attraction" there would have been no problem, but they made him the central focus of the show for about a month a half, and considering how much damage was done in such a short period, one has to wonder what would have happened had they actually stuck with the idea for longer.

 

Oh yeah, I love all the talk about Hogan being a draw, too. That's why WCW went of out business, not enough exposure for their legit draws like Hogan.

HHH had a run prior to Hogan's that was just as long, and was treated as completely "legit." If he was just an attraction, he shouldn't have been headlining the shows and going over their top draws. That's not an atraction, that's what some people like to call "an ace."

So here you're admiting that Hogan's run meant nothing reduced the World Title to "a small gift?" Glad you're being honest, but it's not helping your case.

 

There are far less harmfull and more practical ways to "show respect" then putting the world strap on someone. There's more than one way to skin a cat.

I liked SK's idea for Hogan- put him in the midcard, have him wrestle 5 minute matches with losers where he can do his little routine.

 

Short, inoffensive, doesn't hurt anybody

Personally, I've always hated Hogan, and was hoping to see him end out his career getting nightly stinkfaces from Rikishi.

 

For all the jobs he didn't do over his career, I wanted to see him jobbed out to everyone down to Stacy Keibler.

 

But admittedly I'm probably in the minority on that one.

I think he deserves some credit
