hmm I think the difference with Austin and Rocky is that they were more natural pushes when Vince actually listened to who the fans we're reacting to instead of putting them on Velocity (sorry thats the Mattitude mark speaking) building people up slowly can be fine but would you say it has the same effect on a show where ratings are activley dropping, (I really do fail to see how Book tapping to Storm is conductive to getting him over mind) WCW built Booker quite well as a face towards the very end (even if it was a blatant Rock rip-off) and although he was over with the live crowds the tv audience had long switched off by then

There was no doubt that they were going to push Austin and Rocky, they built up for it to happen, and were determined for it TO happen. As for Booker T in WCW, you can NOT compare this to that. You must look at Booker T as a brand new star who has come over, as he was in WCW his entire career, and many WWE fans were not familier with him at all.

Yes, I feel that even if a show is doing poorly, one must STILL build up stars slowly, as it is best to think for the future, so as to keep things from getting low then. When things are slow, like now, they should use already established stars, which is why not having Rocky or Austin around right now really hurts things.

Maybe there is something wrong with Phillips Arena. Every time I see a Hawks game from there on TV, the place has like 4,000 people in it. Maybe somebody hung a banner on the outside that said "YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE... YES YOU." and the locals bought into it.

100% with you on the Austin/Rocky statement mate, I think they miss Rock's willingness to put rising stars over especially, it's no coincedence that the one new star this year was made when Mr Johnson was around, hopefully by January we'll have them both back which will give room for a vibrant undercard circa 2000
