Guest benoitrulz4life Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Don't really like Hit Parader since they're kind of like a "markish" heavy metal magazine, but this caught my eye. Even though there is A LOT on this list I don't agree with, I still thought it might be interesting for those who haven't yet seen it. 100. Meshuggah - "Nothing" 99. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Hell, I'm not even much into metal, and I'd say that right off not even half of this seems very metal-y. Also, any list that includes a Creed album on it and is not titled "List Of Shitty Music" kinda loses credibility right off the bat.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Plenty of crap on there, some of which would probably be more suited to some teen girls mag or something. I don't know much about metal, and even I can see that a good number of stuff on there doesn't belong. Two Korn cds in the top fifty, along with Stain'd, Limp Bizkit, Bon Jovi, Creed and Puddle of Mudd somewhere on the list also. "Markish" is right...
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Any list that puts Staind and Metallica's 'Load' above THE NUMBER OF THE FUCKING BEAST is not meant to be taken seriously. And Meshuggah's "Nothing" should not be at 100. Its not even their best disc.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 12, 2002 If they were talking in Popularity...then I can buy the list...but as it stands...Blah. I love Creed but they ani't Heavy Metal...just Rock.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 98. Creed - "My Own Prison" 93. Puddle of Mudd - "Come Clean" 79. Linkin Park - "Hybrid Theory" 74. Queen - "Queen" 71. Limp Bizkit - "Significant Other" 55. Bush - "Razorblade Suitcase" 50. Metallica - "Load" 46. Staind - "Break the Cycle" 39. Pearl Jam - "Vs." 29. Korn - "Follow the Leader" 20. Korn - "Korn" 8. Nirvana - "Nevermind" How to these qualify for top 100, and for some of these, how do they qualify for heavy metal?
Guest Cerebus The Aardvark Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Jesus tapdancing Christ, this list is mind-boggling, but I'll just say one thing about it: Paranoid is #6, while Metallica is #2. Fuck.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted December 12, 2002 I honestly wanna know how Powerslave got the nod over Piece of Mind. Most Maiden fans seem to accept that Piece of Mind is the better album overall. I also love the placement of such bands as Linkin Park and Korn on there. I'm not gonna debate their genre of music, but I do wanna ask how THEY got spots instead of the any other Maiden CD's - Both those bands have (or had) a relatively short run, while Maiden's been awesome for the last 20 years, and ignoring my Maiden Markness for a second, there's STILL a wealth of good heavy metal bands that have been either overlooked entirely, or had their GOOD albums totally ignored. Ugh. Of course, I suppose that's better then Revolver's take, as they had the balls to stick SOAD's Toxicity in the TOP FUCKING 10, even though it hadn't even been out for a year at the time the magazine was printed, I believe. Nothing against the album, but fuck, Top 10? No way. And WHERE THE HELL IS IN FLAMES? And why is Pearl Jam on the list? I hate this list.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Hit Parader???? These fans have any idea what Metal is?
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted December 12, 2002 I think people should just give up making lists like this. I'll also say i don't want to live in a universe where puddle of mudd rates higher than rammstein. And mutter is better than sehnsucht anyway, a true modern classic. B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2002 Well I'll be a monkey's bare-assed uncle. See, I knew right away that there was something wrong with this list. When I see Come Clean was even ON the list, and that Hybrid Theory was ranked above Undertow. This is why Hit Parader sucks donkey dink.

B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2002 at least UFO got some mention. Damn right. You just HAVE TO love UFO. The great vocals of Phil Mogg combined with the AMAZING guitar prowess of Mr. Michael Schenker make for good listenin'. I prefer No Heavy Petting over all of the other UFO albums, but Lights Out is terrific.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 13, 2002 HAHAHAHA. Fuck, that was good for a laugh. Sabbath's self-titled album that basically created the genre gets no mention, yet Creed does? They should be ashamed, because anyone with some sense is laughing at this atrocity.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted December 13, 2002 I figure I'll join in the bashing of Hit Parader with my fellow metalheads... ...only I'll point out all the non-metal bands/albums on this list~! 99. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 14, 2002 ...and that Hybrid Theory was ranked above Undertow. So what you're saying is.. A.) That Hybrid Theory is better than Undertow, and deserved a better ranking. Or, B.) You misread that Undertow was ranked better. One of these answers might end up involving a car battery and your nads, as well as a jolly-good face ripping.
