"Xtreme Professional Wrestling, L.L.C. Obtains Exclusive Lease On Philadelphia’s Viking Hall

 

Earlier this week, the owners of Viking Hall announced that XPW had signed a long term lease for the building. The lease, which was signed on October 5, begins January 1 2003 and continues through December 31, 2005 with an option to renew for another three year period.

 

The venue, which will be renamed the XPW Arena, will be home to XPW but will also feature a variety of sports and entertainment events from boxing and bingo to concerts and club nights.

 

“We are very excited about bringing the first entertainment complex of this kind to Philadelphia,” said Kirk Farrington who the company named General Manager of the venue. “The renovations and upgrades being made to the building will enable us to provide a great concert venue where both local and national acts can play when in Philadelphia.”

 

In addition to Farrington, XPW has relocated their Chief Financial Officer, David Pentycofe, to New York. Pentycofe will now serve as C.F.O. for XPW Arena. XPW is expected to name a new C.F.O. in the weeks to come.

 

The XPW Arena office will open on January 6th. Until the office opens, promoters interested in booking the venue can call Mr. Pentycofe a 1-866-888-4336."

 

I actually think that this is good, XPW isn't going to only run their shows there, and let it collect dust when they are not running shows, they are going to have stuff going on as well. I think this is actually a good thing.

 

So XPW is going to make it a club and a place where they can have other events and bands will perform concerts there. Also, XPW is plannig on installing DSL lines in the builing so they can have a webcam and etc for later shows. They plan on cleaning the building up and making it look nicer too. XPW is already having a band perform a concert there in January before its Aftermath card, the night after New Year's Revolution. All I can say is that at least is trying to do something with Viking Hall.

Anyway, it sounds like a solid business plan, which surprised me.

 

The thing is with XPW, is that if the porn company that ran it sold relatively straight, Vivid-type porn, most people wouldn't have a problem supporting the company. The fact that it's sick fetish porn is what turns most people off.

-That, and the fact that almost every wrestler in the company sucks.
