Most painful injury you had

Recommended Posts

Guest CED Ordonez

I must be lucky or something, with nothing broken in 21 years. Worst injury to date would be a herniated disk after trying to be a stud and lifting a 200 pound friend into a fireman's carry despite weighing 130 pounds at the time. I got him up for a second, but then he shifted his weight my back damn near gave out.

While not an overly painful injury, I broke my neck in a car accident. My sister rolled her jeep, and I was in the back not wearing a seat belt and was almost thrown out of the car. I cracked three vertebrae, but there was very little pain.

Most painful injury I've had was when I was 9 or so, and I sliced my left thumb down to the bone. Basically, I slipped and fell into a cellar door, which then came loose from the chain holding it open, and as my hand was hanging partways off the first step down to the cellar, the door slammed on it. I recieved stitches later on; the scars, discoloration and a portruding thumb joint are what I have to show for it these days.

Other injuries, though not quite as painful, include: A broken left forearm/wrist. A separated right shoulder. A deeply bruised right ankle. A series of sprained right ankles, the most recent of which is in some ways worse than the thumb. A series of twisted and sprained knees, my right one had minor surgery years after the last knee injury. And finally, a series of concussions from playing football and coming back too soon to play after each one... the concussions have left me with the occasional side effect... I just know I'm gonna have arthritis later on in life.

Luckily never broke anything. I jammed my finger playing backyard Football with my brother, the next few days the finger was really swollen and purple. More grotesque than painful.

Worse injury was a blood vessel in my head exploding in the gym doing too much. I passed out a few hours later got a spinal tap and a blood patch which was seriously the worse part. I was out of school for a while.

I also broke my wriste and took the cast off myself and never healed properly. And about 3 days ago I hurt it again and now there is a bone sticking out of it. I have yet to visit a doctor.

I went to my dads house to take a nap and found that the dor was locked. I got frustrated and chose not to think. I punched out the glass window. Cut the right wrist severely in several places. It was a mess. Got to the hospital as I was going into shock, which is an interesting feeling. One week later the meds got the better of me and I did a jumping kick at a balloon affixed to a ceiling. I landed on my right hand, bending the wrist back entirely. That wasnt much fun either.

I had an argument with my dad a few years ago, and for whatever reason I punched my bedroom window. Luckily I had my hand in a winter cap.

This talk about bending wrists back reminded me of the time in school when I tried to dunk a basketball, but only just barely hooked the rim with my fingers, causing me to twist around awkwardly and pretty much belly flop to the floor, bending my wrist all the way back in the process. I had gym class next, but they wouldn't excuse me from it because I didn't have a doctor's note. Even though it only happened five minutes before. That's fucked up right there. And stupid.

I was hit in the face with a aluminium baseball bat and underneath my right eye I had a 4 inch knot and in was black and blue. I still can't see out of my left eye that good.

Well... nothing broken. I've nearly popped blood vessels and have bled out of my nose and face many times. During a few fights I honestly felt like I was dying, but was in such an adrenaline high I didn't care and enjoyed it. Once I landed very oddly on my shoulder after a skateboarding bail and dislocated it- getting it popped back in was more than a bitch.

A stress fracture in the L5 of my spine, which is more less a chronic condition. When I didn't know I had it and kept (amateur) wrestling, eventually I hyper-extended almost every muscle in my lower back. I couldn't walk for a few days, fuckin' scary.

It'll most likely keep me from ever being a pro wrestler, which pisses me off like you wouldn't believe.

I've never been seriously hurt in my life, which is shocking considering I play hockey and took Karate for quite a while.

God dammit. My ribs have been hurting me for the last week. I have to get them checked out tomorrow.

I can't remember much pain from any injury where I've gotten anything broken. Getting hit by a car didn't hurt all that much. Being whacked in the head repeatedly with an unusually strong baking sheet hurt like hell. But the kicker had to be getting ingrown toenails removed (it's been done 3 fucking times, each one worse than the last) and stubbing my heavily bandaged toe. Folks, don't take your toenails for granted. There's some damn sensitive stuff underneath. Exsposing said sensitive stuff to the outside world ain't fun. Yeah, that hurt the worst out of all of my 18 years of life experience.

my worst injuries are so wussy compared to everyone else. ive been hit in the hand with a field hockey stick a few times (and my thumb nail fell off) which hurt like hell and i fell down concrete steps in a waterpark as well which was a killer, then i went on a slide and got kicked in the head. not a good day.
