Guest Slapnuts00 Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 I watched Royal Rumble 02, and Edge had his vol. 4 song edited in, Tazz his vol 5. song and of course the Kid Rock theme was gone. I watched the Summerslam 02 DVD and Edge again had his music edited, but Ric Flair too had his early 90s WWF theme edited in. I find this strange since on Royal Rumble they left his current version alone. There seems to be no consistentcy with the edits. What is the problem with keeping "real" music on the DVDs again?
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 I hate that shit. I don't know why they do it but the fans can obviously pick it out so i don't know who they think they are fooling. Did anyone notice HHH's "The Game" was dubbed over "My Time" on the Raw Retro clip on Thursday? That was damn insulting.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 Yeah, Taker has some generic theme for Rumble and Mania 2002. And none of the Desire vidoes are on the store bought tapes or dvds I noticed the Raw thing as well...lame
Guest bob_barron Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 It's cause Vince doesn't want to pay the money for the rights. For X-8 all the music is left in intact
Guest treble charged Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 The Raw thing with HHH's music pissed me off. Especially considering that in the new Raw magazine, when they discuss that moment, they say he came out to 'My Time'. It's not like he'd have to pay royalties on that, would he? I don't think this is anything new, though. Didn't he edit out 'Eye of the Tiger' for 'Real American' on the WrestleMania 'All Day Long' special a few years back?
Guest Karnage Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 It's cause Vince doesn't want to pay the money for the rights. For X-8 all the music is left in intact They did edit out the booing of The Rock on that disc though.

I really want to get the DVD since I haven't seen the match since March and was hoping the crowd reactions would be kept in tact stupid WWE. At least on the Summerslam disc the Rock hate was kept in tact. Another funny, yet sad note. WWE can more easily use old footage of WCW than WWF because of the old logo that was plastered on many of the sets and ring aprons. How fucked up is that?
Guest Karnage Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 Vince really should try and find a way to use the WWF initials again..
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 That is fucked. The Rock/Hogan match was one of my favs of the year based on the fan reactions from that match.
The Dames Posted December 15, 2002 Report Posted December 15, 2002 As someone who has the X8 DVD and as someone who was in the arena, I can say with confidence that the match was NOT edited, audio wise. You can still hear the boos for the Rock. Dames

Guest treble charged Posted December 15, 2002 Report Posted December 15, 2002 Yeah, I just watched that match a few days ago at my friend's place, and there really wasn't any editing of the crowd's reaction to the Rock.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 15, 2002 Report Posted December 15, 2002 To repeat what everyone said- Rock v. Hogan is not changed at all. I wish Vince would stop being a cheap skate though
Guest Grenouille Posted December 15, 2002 Report Posted December 15, 2002 I don't think this is anything new, though. Didn't he edit out 'Eye of the Tiger' for 'Real American' on the WrestleMania 'All Day Long' special a few years back? Yeah they did, but then again it isn't all that new a practice. Going back to the first Coliseum Video, they would dub something in place of Eye of the Tiger. Pretty much from 87-01 they were good with music. I think the Survivor Series 2001 DVD was the first to start using generic crap again, but I might be wrong.
