Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted March 11, 2003 Material Issue! Nice. And, if you're anything like me, evenflow, you're never gonna like anything by the Cure outside the singles. I really should pick up Staring at the Sea one of these days... I actually picked that CD up because of your recommendations - I downloaded "Valerie Loves Me" and got hooked. And I agree, I gotta pick up Staring at the Sea one of these days as well. When I shave my head and start spending my financial aid on CDs, that's when I know I'm really in trouble Didn't listen to a lot of music today, but spun this one twice (for no apparent reason). It's no Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but it's a totally different band - much more mature, and although not as funky or genuine as the finest moments of BSSM, it's still got a lot of good songs on this. Now that "Scar Tissue" isn't played a million times on the radio, I hear most people selling this album short. I can't really see why - from what little I've heard, it beats By the Way and definitely One Hot Minute.

Guest R2DFooster McSockman Report post Posted March 13, 2003 How's the new Stephen Malkmus album, Inc? His debut left me underwhelmed, but the two songs I've heard from Pig Lib ("(Do Not Feed the) Oyster" and "Us") are a big improvement. Is the rest of a similar quality? His debut left me underwhelmed, but the two songs I've heard from Pig Lib ("(Do Not Feed the) Oyster" and "Us") are a big improvement. Is the rest of a similar quality? It's pretty damn good. I found it a little off putting at first--this is Malkmus interpreting 70s rock, after all--but it's grown on me quite a bit. Anyway: (np) Hey saturnmark, Go 2 sucks. Seriously. Guest Eyeball Kid Report post Posted March 18, 2003 I actually enjoy Jessica Simpons' vocals over Mandy's. I wanna stab Simpson's throat with an ice pick, but whatever. And hey, you're stretching the shit out of the screen. Use the enter key and space bar, man!

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I deeply regret getting the "BAN PLZ" ball rolling. Okay, it was evenflow that started it, but then I said it repeatedly for a couple of days, and then Flyboy started it, and then...ugh.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Superstar--Congrats on getting into the Flaming Lips. Next time, use allmusic over amazon--the pictures are smaller. (np) on deck: Useless trivia: I was listening to Sigur Ros' ( ) whilst shaving my head. Also, seeing them live a couple of days ago has made me love this album even more.
