How is this all going to work out

Recommended Posts

Guest Youth N Asia

So how is this going to work.

Are they going to merge the titles at Mania and end the brand split? Or is the winner of the Rumble still going to get a shot, and if so at what belt?

Thoughts?

It's all a bit confused, but my idea is that the last Raw guy gets the Raw title shot, the last Smackdown guy gets the Smackdown title shot, and whichever one of those wins the actual Rumble gets the kudos of being the last match main event at Wrestlemania.

Any good?

The way I was thinking about it goes like this. The last Raw guy in the ring gets the shot at the HHH title, SD guy, WWE title.

There are tons of faults in this one, such as if the last two guys are SD guys, or what to do when its down to the last Raw guy or SD guy, but I was thinking more along the lines of a money prize, like 20K or something.

Oh, I dont know.

I think the money prize would come off lame.

Rumble's selling point is that the winner gets a title shot at Mania, that's where the drama in caring who wins is. I could give a rats ass is Benoit wins it and gets some money...

Maybe they'll merge the titles at No Way Out...

I'm sure WWE doesn't even know yet, they don't seem to do any long term booking anymore

MAybe whoever wins the Rumble gets a shot at their belt in the 'Main Event' at Wrestlemania, so if say Lesnar wins the WWE title match is the main event and if say RVD wins (hah), then the Kliq Title gets the main event spot.

I say go full WCW mode and use World War 3 battle royal, winner gets a shot at title they are from.

Or use Spin the Wheel Make a Deal to get a title shot, at either the return of the IC or US titles as choices along with RAW, Smackdown, CW, TV.

Good Luck You'll Need It......I'll Buy That For a Dollar.

I don't like this "The title from their show" bit...cause the other title would be defended anyway, and for that match the person wouldn't have had to win the Rumble.

I was thinking that maybe the Rumble winner would face both champs...in a 3 way dance, and the winner of that would walk out as the Undisputed champion

That's what I said! Stop no-selling my posts!

You know that if Lesnar is in the Rumble (which I can't imagine him not) he is going to win it and go on to win the WWE Title from Angle at WM. Angle will also be the 1st person to ever kick out of the F-5 in this match which will cause Lesnar to bust out the mother fucking SHOOTING STAR PRESS for the victory. At least that's my opinion.

Yeah, that's all we need. HHH to kill all challengers, unite the titles and rule over both shows. Ending the split is the worst thing that Vince could do right now.

But that would just end up in another title dispute eventually.

Oh, and about the money thing...I was thinking back to the older days before the Rumble win = Mania shot. I liked the idea about the winner gets the main event slot though.

As I said in the HHH's Injury thread:

* Eric Bischoff vs Shane McMahon in a hardcore match to end the GM rivalry.

* Kurt Angle defeats Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Title, while any combination of Steiner, Austin, HHH, or Goldberg (if they make a deal with him) fight for the Big Gold Belt. Anyone but HHH or Steiner should win.

* Once the McMahons regain both shows, use Backlash as a place to have Angle vs Austin or Goldberg to unify the titles. It's not like they have enough time to write angles for Backlash anyway, it's only a couple weeks after 'Mania.

I agree with Ramsus that ending the split is a bad idea right now, but they could end the GM competition and bring back a floating champ. That would certainly help matters.

There are few ideas:

1. The Battlebowl concept. Two rings, 15 guys from RAW & Smackdown in each ring. The final two guys will get their WWE & World Title shot at WM. But they will go at it to see whose match will go on last. With attendence being down, something like this could be done without having to worry about blocking seats.

2. Last two men get shot at titles. The next night on RAW or SD, there's a coin toss with the winner of RR. One side of the coin would be for the WWE Title, the other for the World Title.

Hell, I don't know. I would kinda like to see the Battlebowl idea being used, but I think Vince already shot down that idea a few months back.

This is what I'd do...

Vince returns only to say that he doesn't like the whole two champ thing..yadda yadda yadda...WM will end with only one champ to be shared between both shows.

The winner of the RR faces both the SD and RAW champs at Wrestlemania in a 3Way Dance.

Then it can be built up from their with Bischoff and Steph uneasily working together only to disrupt the main event at Wrestlemania so their show can keep their respective titles.

After Wretlemania, this Bischoff/Steph alliance would feud with Vince ove control of the company...it's been a while since we've had one of those great hostile takeover angles that we love so much

I kinda like the idea of 15 men from RAW, and 15 men from Smackdown, and whoever wins, gets a shot at their heavyweight title in the main event at Wrestlemania 19. That would be our guaranteed main event also. The last remaining guy from the other show, would get a shot as his heavyweight title. So, say Lesnar won the Royal Rumble, he would go on and face Angle, or whoever the WWE Champion is, in the main event at Wrestlemania 19. If say RVD was the last remaining RAW guy, he would get a shot at the World Title in the second from last main event, or whatever you want to call it.

Winner gets the title shot at Mania and the main event. That should be incentive enough.

Merging the titles doesn't work for the brand split. It ruins what little illusion of a split they have.

The one champ on both shows suck because the champ becomes too overexposed.

The main event at WM should be a one on one match PERIOD. Not an IYH like 3-way.

Just give whomever wins the RR a shot at his brand's champ. Simple as that

Making the last guy eliminated get a title shot is stupid cause it then it kills any drama that's supposed to happen

I think the winner should get the "coin flip" to determine what title he fights for at NO WAY OUT...and if he wins, then the runner up gets to fight the guy that just lost his title for a chance at a title shot at WM...another coin flip to go after the new champ or the other champ....

so basically

if RVD wins, he flips a coin (and it comes up Angle)

he fights Angle and wins...

Angle fights the RR runner up (Brock) and loses, so Brock flips a coin and gets HHH or RVD and they fight at WM whilst Angle fights the other guy...

I dont like the thought of the last guy from each show getting a shot at their respective titles. That would mean that someone would get rewarded for losing the match. That's so NHL.

They can be split roster-wise without having to look like they're competing with each other.

The problem with the split from Day One is that they've been trying to make it look like the days of the Monday Night Wars where there was actually competition.

There isn't competition, so why even bother? I had difficulty explaining this to a mark who hadn't watched in years the other day, because he couldn't understand why they'd even try and make it look like that.
