Guest NoCalMike Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 Question: Is the pube area much like the rest of the hair areas where as, once you start shaving, it will grow back thicker, thus once you start, you will now ALWAYS have to do it?
Guest J*ingus Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 Having shaved the majority of my body at some point or another, I'm pretty sure that the "it'll go back thicker" thing is bullshit.
Guest IDrinkRatsMilk Posted December 23, 2002 Report Posted December 23, 2002 It is bullshit. What would be the scientific basis for it growing back thicker? Just an old wives tale.

No, and that's a myth anyway. Two things have contributed to the perpetuation of that myth. (1) People start shaving during puberty when hair is naturally starting to thicken and will continue to do so regardless of being shaved, and (2) when a hair follicle starts to grow its base is slightly thicker than when its longer and that gives the appearance of it growing in thicker. My pubes have returned to the same state as they were before I started getting rid of them.
