Guest GameCop Report post Posted December 17, 2002 If Raw was any indication, we could probably expect these matches to transpire at this year's Royal Rumble: - Angle vs. Benoit - WWE Title - HHH vs. Steiner - World Title - Jericho vs. HBK - Grudge match Royal Rumble Match with Austin, Taker, Rock, Booker T, RVD, Kane, Edge, Eddy Guerrero, Big Show, Brock Lesnar, Ric Flair, Mysterio, Rhyno (and possibly Goldberg) as the main attractions; the participants most likely to emerge victorious. Looks like a tremendous pay-per-view to me, notwithstanding the HHH vs. Steiner bout.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Well, thank God Vince came to his senses and decided to go with a 30 man Royal Rumble, just like old times. Look for Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Taker, Rhyno and the Rock to be mystery entrants. This is gonna be the most unpredictable, star-studded Royal Rumble of all time. WWE is also building some "intra" storylines for the Rumble -- RVD-Kane, and Y2J-HBK. So, who's gonna win the Rumble. Let's look at the odds for each major competitor: Brock 2:1 Austin 3:1 HBK 4:1 Big Show 4:1 Rock 5:1 Taker 6:1 RVD 7:1 Edge 7:1 Y2J 8:1 Kane 10:1 Goldberg 15:1 Eddy Guerrero 25:1 Spike Dudley 10000000000000000000000:
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I want them to do something like the 1989 and 1998 Rumbles where Tag Team Partners enter number 1 and 2. It was Ax and Smash in 1989, Cactus and Chainsaw in 1998...maybe the Duds in 2003?
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted December 23, 2002 At worst Brock is going to be at even odds. I hope RVD is number one, he certainly is not going to win so let him make an ironman run.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I think WWE should start the Rumble with 2 major stars (i.e. Rock, Jericho, HBK). I hope they don't copy last year's format, where all the major stars came out near the end (except Taker). There wasn't an Iron Man last year, so I'm hoping that we'll get one this year (RVD or Jericho) Oh, and did you know that last year's RR was the longest one ever. It was nearly 72 minutes long! Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted December 23, 2002 You know what I'd love to happen? If (that's a big IF in my book) The Rock returns, have him enter, eliminate the uppercard face that's on a roll and the only person in the ring, get a phone call before the next entrant, get on the mic, and say, "The Rock's gotta go back and reshoot a scene for The Rock's next movie "Helldorado", opening (whenever)." And then he leaves.

I don't think Rock will be back either. He is still filming his movie. Either Austin or Brock is going to win.

Guest notJames Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I'd like to see Edge and Christian as Numbers 1 and 2. Other than that, I have no expectations about the PPV. I have become comfortably numb to any and all things related to WW_. Anybody want to put some ROH videos in my stocking this year?

Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I'm pumped up for the Rumble. Always is no matter what. I would like an iron man in the rumble. RVD would defintley be a good candiate. And even though its expected for Brock to win so he can have the final showdown with Angle at Wrestlemania XIX, it could still be an awesome rumble if booked right. I am ready for the 2003 Royal Rumble.
Guest Mole Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Rhyno is in OVW as of early January. He can come in as a surprise in the Rumble, no problem. niko That would very dumb of the WWE to do so. I am sure Rhyno has some ring rust after his injury. Besides, I heard he wasn't coming back until around April. Where did you get this info?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 So, who's gonna win the Rumble. Let's look at the odds for each major competitor: Brock 2:1 Austin 3:1 HBK 4:1 Big Show 4:1 Rock 5:1 Taker 6:1 RVD 7:1 Edge 7:1 Y2J 8:1 Kane 10:1 Goldberg 15:1 Eddy Guerrero 25:1 Spike Dudley 10000000000000000000000:1 Woah, Austin and Rock at 5 or lower? After what Triple H said in his speech on RAW about those two, I doubt they'll even be in it. I mean, HHH took some serious shots at Rock, or as he's now known 'Mr Hollywood', and he said he'd 'do an Austin' to Bischoff. No way will Triple H want them to win. It's probably gonna be Brock. At least this way, the Rumble isn't as predictable as before though. I mean, this way it could really be more unpredictable. Even if Brock doesn't win the Rumble, he'll still get his shot some other way. One of the brands will have to do that. As for numbers 1 and 2, on that logic it should be a real cocky Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy as 1 and 2, and Shannon as 3. Cena'll probably rap his way out and get chucked straight out. Batista, A-Train and DeMott will hoss their way through if they're not already in squash matches. Nash'll be back to chuck a load of guys out, and they'll probably bring in at least one surprise. Should be good...(watch them blow it)

Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted December 24, 2002 I don't know whether RVD would make a good iron man....oh hell, he probably would, seeing as Kane is a similarly limited worker yet through sheer effort managed to entertain the hell out of me as an iron man in the 2001 Rumble. You can always have two iron men though, I reckon Eddy would be a great cheating iron man, kind of like Road Dogg's seriously annoying tactics in the 2000 rumble. What...you didn't like the D-O-DOUBLE G going into the fetal position while hanging onto the bottom rope? The better heel tactic to me is what Jerry Lawler did in the 1996 Royal Rumble: hide under the ring and wait it out. EDIT: Heh...sheer irony...I mention the 1996 Rumble in post 1996
