A Poets Call

I'm not trying to call out the Spider Poet, but I would like to hear from all my fellow poets. Spin your words hear please. :)

Sometimes I hear the breaking hearts of the Angels.

The lament of those who watch.

They look down upon the feats of men,

So much counts as not.

Sometimes I hear the breaking hearts of the Angels.

Their eyes filled with tears.

With two wings they cover their face,

Their hands stop their ears.

Sometimes I hear the breaking hearts of the Angels.

Lamenting the task they bare.

To bring forth the Justice of God,

upon those who refuse to care. (Dopey 12/20/2002)

I eagerly await your poetry and prose.

Peace and love, Dopey. :)

Indeed. Well, I suppose I will set aside my inherent paranoia, and what probably amounts to greed and write something specifically for the board here.

*ahem*

I look upon the smiling face

of a love I could not claim.

And from afar I make a case

that I am not insane.

Wrong to love and worse to live

is wisdom I have been told.

But passion comes for the winged life

of men who do live bold.

The reflection in your glasses

betray that you know I'm here.

Confusing contacts are now your passes

to refuse to see me clear.

For sight is blind to a certain extent

but knowing can show the way.

And I fight in kind and won't relent

until you've heard what I must say.

I say this and you hear that

but the universe will tear you down.

My being rises to a peaking flat

and you leave me without a sound.

Speechless and shaken.

I stand here forsaken

for a love I could not claim.

* * *

Not my best. It's probably pretty aimless and crappy, to be perfectly honest. But it's 5 AM and I should be asleep, so don't expect much better for a while.

In Times of Trouble

In times of trouble and times of need,

I run to the hands that once did bleed.

To pull me up from this horrible mess,

To bring me peace in His hand of rest.

A Time To Crack Skulls

by Edward Bonham III

When bouncy pop bullshit fills the halls

I take hold of my ball bat

It's time to crack skulls

When metal is appropriated by men with no sac

I lace up my boots

Their skulls, I will crack

Be it in the skating rinks

Be it in the malls

Where ever there are pop bitches

It's a time to crack skulls (12/21/02)

I hope JAxlMorrison doesn't mind me quoting him. I went to his website and read a killer poem called 'I Don't Want To Be Saved Anymore'. You can see the apathy and pain bleeding from these words. I really felt this one stanza.

"When all the faith you've ever had is shattered

When everything you've ever wanted has been scattered

When eveything inside feels so bruised and battered

When, in the end, nothing you've done has mattered"

I can only speak from my own life, but I have felt some of this when I got divorced 8 years ago. I went on a backsliding trip away from God and spent a few years in the world. It took a while for the pain to subside and for God to softly speak to me and bring me back to His arms of mercy and love.

This goes to JAxlMorrison, no matter what the pain, horror, or condemnation of the world you've seen and experienced if you are a true child of God, He will eventually gently and lovingly draw you back to Him. It's all about the love brother.

Peace be with you.

"THROUGH ME LIES THE ROAD TO THE CITY OF GRIEF.

THROUGH ME LIES THE PATHWAY TO WOE

EVERLASTING.

THROUGH ME LIES THE ROAD TO THE SOULS THAT ARE LOST.

JUSTICE IMPELLED MY MIGHTY ARCHITECT:

THE POWER DIVINE, AND PRIMAL LOVE AND

WISDOM

SURPASSING ALL, HAVE HERE

CONSTRUCTED ME.

BEFORE I WAS CREATED, NOTHING WAS

SAVE THINGS ETERNAL. AND ETERNAL I SHALL

ENDURE.

ABANDON ALL HOPE, YE WHO ENTER HERE!"

In characters obscure, above a gate

I saw these words inscribed upon the rock.

"Master," I said, "these words bid me ill"

He answered me like one of understanding:

"Here must all misgiving be cast off;

All cowardice must here be overcome.

For now we have approached unto that place

Of which I spoke, where you shall see those souls

Who mourn the lack of intellect's true light."

Inferno, Canto 3
